The issue with discussing video games compared to other forms of media is that the way games are released and structured, there is basically no good point to talk about a game. With TV shows and anime the week between episodes serves as a point to discuss the past and future, and movies are just short enough that you can have a lot to talk about the minutia while still covering the film's entire length. With games you either have hours upon hours of video game that usually boils down to a similar gameplay loop, giving you both too much and not enough to talk about. The only real time to talk about a game is between starting and finishing it, and at that point, why not just play the game instead of discussing it?
