The stack effect of most items isn't really that obvious, I just go to the logbook and it says exactly what does what.

Game feels as if they have a good grip on where they're going and what they're doing with it. This is their third game as well, but first attempt at EA.

Bearing in mind, it's early access. It's not entirely finished.

The fact that the two games pretty much exist in different genres means that 1 will never entirely be worth skipping, although now that 2 is out you're probably going to have a lot of trouble finding people to play multiplayer with.

Shame, Enforcer might've worked better in 2 if they retooled the shield a little. He was fun in 1 but sitting in a corner with the shield up went from super OP in the first couple levels to completely useless in later levels when there's shitloads of enemies that just fly/teleport behind you.

I opened and got an on use item that fires a big ass green blob that does a shitload of damage to whatever it hits.

I feel like the teleporters are so hard to find, they blend in too much. I could be looking directly at it and not notice

I managed to land on top of one of my healing drones at one point. It was amusing, but the amount of speed and mobility items it takes to be able to land on top of it means it's too late in the game to be able to sit still long enough to enjoy the ride without getting blasted from 30 angles.

What does being sequenced mean? I had a bunch of stuff, then I paid a lunar coin to some altar thing, the message feed said "you have been... sequenced" and most of my inventory was gone but not all of it, and I suddenly had 14 war banners. One banner had a range pretty much the size of the entire level.

Sequencing picks one item for each colour and transforms all other items into copies for that item. It's pretty bad right now unless there's a secret to it. Don't do it unless you have a bunch of trash.

Alright v, what should I know about this game?
So far it feels insanely bullet spongey with almost no customization.
Everything from the chests is a straight upgrade except for lunar items.

Optimal play seems to be running and ignoring enemies to gather as much loot as quickly as possible; you only kill enemies en route to more loot and for cash to open the loot.
The sooner you can blow through a world, the better, since difficulty's constantly ticking up.

don't go too fast because some levels will automatically upgrade to the next difficulty, so if you're halfway on medium and go through the teleporter it will go to hard

my biggest complaint is the portals. They either spawn them halfway into a wall or they completely blend in with the scenery. I feel an easy fix would be to just give the shrines an outline

Clay Dunestrider is an absolutely awful design late game, they restore HP by draining enemies but you can't clear out the enemies fast enough to prevent this. Plus you get 3 or 4 stacking on top of each other which makes it absolutely impossible to even take out one, let alone several.

Definitely need a relook, they're fine as one or two in mid-game levels but once you're into HAHAHAHAHA territory you may as well just alt-F4 if you get Dunestriders on the teleporter.

Merc is probably the only one that feels a bit awkward in the transition to 3d. He desperately wants jump upgrades so he can stay in the air, and there are a few enemies that'll chump you quick.

Whirlwind's kind of the weak point in his kit since everyone's much more mobile in this game.

I'd day even more so, there's a great new item called backup magazine. Each one of these give you an extra 2nd ability, stack them and you literally never have to touch the ground as merc.

It's actually not bad considering 2 jumps, a spin jump, a 3 part dash and a dash + super

huntress is great, they just need to change it so arrow rain can be targeted directly at enemies instead of only surfaces and maybe add a bit of iframes to it

If you activate that one item that gives 100% crit chance for 8 seconds as Mul-T, the crit chance doesn't go away until you stop firing your nail gun.

They stick with you through playthroughs so you can save them up. There are specific lunar chests that require them. I also think once you are deep enough there's other shit that cost several coins but I'm not sure.

Lunar coins can buy special items from special containers, and you need 11 of them to unlock one of the charactwrs

I ended up losing because I spent a lunar coin on a crown that gave me gold when I dealt damage, and lose a fuck ton when I take any. Even with all the feathers, my velocity would project me so far, so fast, that fall damage would make me broke every time.

Is there a way to force the two portals that give you characters to spawn? I have yet to encounter the kill-yourself jumping puzzle at all despite running a few 45+ minute long games, and I've only come across the shop once.
