hey everyone. sounds like youtube is going to be getting rid of annotations so i just wanted to make a comment in remembrance of the little story i had put up here.
10 years ago when i uploaded this soundtrack i didn't expect these videos to take off at all, let alone to be the "more popular" uploads of the katamari damacy soundtrack.
all the annotations in the video were comments from people around the first year that were part of a reply chain, and i liked the story so much that i put it in the video!
i hope that some people have had a fun time reading them and i will always have a picture of the annotations if any of you find yourself wanting to hear the story again.

I became a Yea Forums regular in 2004 (First posted in late 2003) and the decline I saw was with the rise of "Anonymous" as an entity rather than just a name for other posters. That point around 2006 when Yea Forumstards were vandalizing at conventions was the warning shot, but once people saw Yea Forums (Or really just Yea Forums) as an edgy place for gore, cp and stale Hitler jokes it was all over. By 2008 the mentality had migrated from Yea Forums to other boards and the site was trapped in a vice-like grip of conduct and etiquette that had to be followed or else you weren't a 'real' 4channer. The irony is that it was the new people who imposed these rules because the 'rules of the internet' image was gospel on Yea Forums at the time. What people now refer to as 'board culture' was the undermining of original Yea Forums anonymity because it told people there was only one correct way to think. Now we have that taken to cartoonish extremes with /pol/ and Circa 2011-2016 Yea Forums.

Is it time to peruse my unorganized folder? I didn't start actually making categories for all my shit until around 2011 so everything that's not in a folder is just a mishmash of that ancient internet pop culture. I actually named my shit back then.
