Best way to setup the switch pro controller for non steam games?
For steam games it's a seamless plug and play since there's already support for it, but for anything non steam related, what's the best way? I've seen different software and methods talked about so I don't know which one.
I haven't tried it myself, I only use their WiinuSoft for my Wii U Pro controller.

Not OP but I tried what you linked and even BetterJoyForCemu, nothing worked. I hope it works for OP at least.

OP HERE
youtube.com/watch?v=Vie_kWPWHek I've found that this worked pretty well. Gonna try it for Sekiro soon and will post results.

wtf that circle around the button is a light?why hasn't mine ever turned on
Julian Anderson
Mine turned on right away via steam and I can even adjust the brightness of the light.
Isaac Wilson
The main problem I have with that is that the left control's calibration is completely fucked. Seems to be a general issue with the Pro Controller via this method.
Nicholas Nguyen
WTF I've never had mine light up.
Jordan Phillips
In a position with the capacity where you can make such claims?
Jayden Lee
Elaborate?

The default calibration sucks and it's a total mess to fix it. Switch to the Pro Controller tab in your x360ce and you will see how the X/Y axis of both sticks will send signals all the time without your input at all.

After adding the game's .exe as a shortcut in Steam, open big picture mode and launch it from there. If the game still doesn't recognize the controller, use Big Picture mode's software to assign keyboard keys to all of the buttons. That usually works for me.

BetterJoyforCemu has been great for me

This, OP. BetterJoyForCemu

The only thing this does when I connect my Switch controller, it keeps creating virtual Xbox controller one after another. And none of these ever work as well. So I end up with over 100 controllers in the device tab.
Tyler Perez
is it disabled on the switch? I always thought it was some useless plastic border around the button
Aiden White
Just do what said. You have to run Steam in big picture because it turns the signal from the switch controller into Xbox controller signals

How does it compare to x360ce? That still didn't work, only thing I haven't tried is remapping the buttons to keyboard keys but I doubt that'll work either. Only steam games work through the steam method so far. But with x360ce I managed to get it to work, wired and wireless for non steam games.
Daniel Hernandez
Hmm, not to be a Works on my Machine fag, but that usually works for me. Have you turned on Switch Pro Controller Configuration Supporting the Steam settings? I would try setting each button to a keyboard button, or set the controller to use an Xbox configuration instead of a Switch Pro configuration. What game are you trying to play? And kind of an odd question but are using Steam Link to stream to a TV? Because in my experience outside games added to steam don't work on Steam Link.
Hudson Ortiz
>already support for it steam uses an xinput wrapper, depending on the game it might accept d-input otherwise use an emulator wrapper like x360ce or add the game's exe to steam through non steam apps and use steam's wrapper
Nolan Mitchell
Anyone ever tried Magic-NC from Mayflash? It's suppoed to work as well.
Jordan Long
Does it work with x360ce?
David Davis
works great
Christian Torres
>Using that piece of shit over the Wii U pro controller
I'd only be interested in it for the Gyro. Makes FPS's fucking playable with a controller if calibrated properly like in Splatoon.
Aiden Walker
BetterJoyForCemu should be run independently, if you have Steam running, don't enable Nintendo Switch controller in Steam, also no need for x360ce. Just BetterJoyForCemu alone is enough
Ethan Myers
I may consider this then. Also nice to have the option to use a bunch of other controllers on the Switch.
Lucas Parker
Two methods: >better joy for cemu >universal desktop mode while steam runs in the background
Joshua Wood
give me a heads-up when someone makes a universal splatoon button re-centering it constantly is a fucking pain
Jordan Long
>Switch Pro Controller Configuration Supporting the Steam settings? Yes >Xbox configuration instead of a Switch Pro configuration Yep >What game are you trying to play? I tried loading a couple, resident evil 2, remaster, divinity original sin, dragons dogma. Loaded through steam big picture mode and nothing. >Steam Link to stream to a TV Nope ...I just said it did? >BetterJoyForCemu Is there any reason if I'm already using x360ce? Is there benefits x360ce doesn't have or does it work better? >universal desktop mode while steam runs in the background Haven't tried this yet
Parker Rivera
I originally bought it as a second controller alternative. Input lag appears to be good, gyro is supported. Only the build quality and design of the magic stick could need some improvement. Especially the tiny button to switch inputs. TL;DR software good hardware bad
Andrew Cox
> Is there any reason if I'm already using x360ce? Is there benefits x360ce doesn't have or does it work better? It has USB support
Jack Evans
OP here. Tested x360ce again on Sekiro and it worked perfectly fine. I don't notice any input lag either.
However, when I tried wired for some reason, x360ce will detect 2 controllers, it'll then only detect my pro controller for the second controllers input but not the first. This doesn't happen with wireless and I'm not sure how to fix it.
