This. I bought an Xbox one in 2017 because I wanted to get back into Reach. Bought Halo V and the new Battlefields... they absolutely fucking suck. I just bought an old original Xbox with the softmod and a shitton of games on it yesterday. I found my old duke controller too. When I dusted it off and held it in my hands I legit was about to cry. Fuck. Now I just need a crt tv and xlinkai setup and I can finally enjoy console gaming again like God intended.

The multiplayer was really fun for some reason, played that downtown city map to death, so much fun sniping, camping, using rockets. Of course we weren't so spoiled for multiplayer FPS yet so yeah it benefits from everyone remembering it with rose-tinted goggles.

Also, 98-05 were goat for nuconsoles
