Other urls found in this thread:
he said PSX, get him
it was literally never called PSX
dont start this
ape escape
tell that to OP
if you want to talk about actual games for the system, the trick is to say "this system" with picture rather than say PSX
einhander
crash
spyro
tekken
a final fantasy or two
metal gear something or another
you know, shit like that
Crash 1-3 and CTR. Crash Bash if you have a friend to play with
Spyro 1-3
Jumping Flash! if you want an interesting nippon experience
FF7, FF8 and FF9. I prefer 7 and 9 more than 8, but they all are worth trying at least.
Destruction Derby 2
Metal Gear Solid
Kula World
Alundra. Link to the Past clone-ish game with hard puzzles and gud story. My favortie game of all time
Ape Escape
Gran Turismo 2, though Gran Turismo 4 for PS2 is best Gran Turismo imo
Wipeout
Croc
Cannot come up with more, but those are my favs. There are way too many good games.
>PSX
Disgusting
>jumping flash
my user
METAL GEAR SOLID
thread theme for more good recommendations: youtube.com
>einhander
based
>Alundra
also based
parasite eve 1&2
Dino Crisis. I just finished 2, actually.
Fuck off, that's how it is.
>eiffel65
no user -you- are based
anyone here play every song he lists?
you barely see people mentioning Star Ocean 2 or Valkyrie Profile in PS1 threads, why are tri-Ace games so underrated in general?
one of the best RPGs I've ever played
I think Winning 11 is the only one I haven't played.
Bloody Roar 2 was so good. I played the demo to death with my siblings
tomba 1 and 2
good taste. I think the Tomba games are probably the best definition of soul
Monster Rancher 2
Tomba 1 and 2
3 is better OP, but this one is pretty good too
Play this shit
Vagrant Story. At the time it was a peak graphic performance of the system, crafting system, replayability etc. an excellent game
Klonoa
Eat shit, bitch.
ROLLCAGE!!!!!!!!!! Fast as fuck boi, with awesome Fatboy Slim soundtrack.
>Dino Crisis. I just finished 2, actually.
How to fuck did you survive the retro controls? Awesome games though.
none, both graphics and gameplay are garbage
t.19 years old (so not blinded by nostalgia)
What genres do you like? This isn't the 64 were you have a set list of games to play.
Oh shit, Soul reaver, still solid even today, the first game ever that brought undivided free roam world without loading screens.
Dual planes of existence were dope as hell. Arguably the first videogame series that took voice acting seriously.
Panzer Bandit is a cool beat 'em up. It controls kind of like a fighting game and has some pretty wild juggle and combo potentional
Very solid list. I would just add the Vampire Hunter D to the survival horror list.
Try One Piece Mansion. Weird tower sim type puzzle game
wipeout / 2097 = kino
Ape Escape
Jumping Flash 1 and 2
Armored Core
Tomb Raider 1
Tekken 2
Legend Of Legia
I'm still amazed at how many good games came from a single console. Seems like there was much more variety and risk-taking back then.
Now look at the list of good ps2 games
PS1 and PS2 libraries are absolutely massive. You can't put all recommendations in one picture. I have to pics just full of Japanese import adventures.
Truly the best generation of games. PS2 era was also great, but arguably worse than the first one. Everything's downhill since then.
No Croc 2? Weird, still a great list.
In no particular order
1. Einhander
2. FF7-9, people bitch and moan about one being shittier than the others in some ways but they are all good.
3. Front Mission 3
4. Armored Core
5. Twisted Metal 2
6. Harvest Moon (not as good as the N64 version imo)
7. Valkyrie Profile
8. Chrono Cross (people will bitch about it being worse than trigger, but whatever)
9. Legend of Dragoon
10. Jade Cocoon
-Silent Hill
-Resident Evil 1-3
-MediEvil 1 & 2
-Final Fantasy VII-IX
-Spyro 1-3
-Dino Crisis 1-2
-Vagrant Story

-G-Police games

Harmful Park
I never had any problems with tank controls and have no trouble getting back into them.
>Seems like there was much more variety and risk-taking back then.
That's right.
You could have two games that belonged to seemingly same genre, that would still look and play completely different from each other.
Not to mention every gaming PLATFORM kinda had its own "thing" going on at the time; even multiplat titles could differ a fuck ton from machine to machine.
Wheres a good place to get roms? I tried getting resident evil 2 dualshock but it just freezes at the warning?
Metal Gear Solid
Final Fantasy VII, VIII & IX
Ape Escape
Spyro the Dragon 1, 2 & 3
Crash Bandicoot 1, 2 & 3
Crash Team Racing
Resident Evil 1, 2 & 3
Silent Hill
Parasite Eve 1 & 2
Dino Crisis
Legend of Dragoon
Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
Vagrant Story
