Hey Yea Forums. It's your boy Sakurai here. I've started working on a new Kid Icarus game.....but the only thing I've come up with is the title. I need you all to give me some story and gameplay ideas.

Humans try to overthrow the gods. The first level is Dark Pit and Viridi suppressing an uprising lead by a great human wizard.

Viridi and Palutena continue the war after Hades's defeat. Pit bests Dark Pit yet again, causing Dark Pit to go on a journey of self-discovery to escape Pit's shadow. The story is then split between Dark Pit's journey and Pit and Palutena dealing with the war. On top of that, Palutena's father, Zeus, returns from a vacation or somesuch thing he's been on for the last dozen centuries. He starts taking charge of Skyworld despite it now being Palutena's domain.
>Gameplay
You can now collect souls in addition to hearts. Souls are special challenges you can access between stages which have special victory conditions. Beating them unlocks an upgrade block related to the soul to further customize your weapons. Souls are typically earned by beating a large number of enemies, but there are rare secret ones hidden in every level.

Palutena is based off Athena (Palutena > Pallas Athena). So Zeus being her dad isn't so far-fetched.
Then again, no other godly family relations were ever established, so maybe he's just the big cheese in Skyworld.

Fuck that, Kid Icarus Downfall would be a better name, being complete opposite of "Uprising".
Story: Titans invade the entirety of the Gods' domains and Pit is cast into tartarus where he must team up with Hades to escape and overthrow the Titans.

Well I guess the more I think about it, it kind of makes sense. I feel like it's kind of a sour note though. If it's the last kid Icarus game ever made people will think it ended with defeat.

Demigods start appearing out of nowhere. It's up to Pit to team up with friendly ones and suppress the group aiming to usurp the gods.
Chapter 8 is a bait and switch ending where you think the opposing demigod leader is defeated but he finishes a ritual that steals Palutena's and Viridi's powers, turning them into normal humans. The goal for the rest of the game is to return them to godhood. They become playable characters after this point.
Plot Twist: The reason Magnus is so strong is because he's a normal human who trained hard.
