His absorption power was inconsistent even in 4 (grabbed Sparda and Rebellion and didn't auto absorb them, but auto absorbed other stuff), and we haven't seen him grab any artifacts post awakening.
Was thinking how the fact he had Yamato in his arm for years might have left a memory of it's power in him.
I was mainly theorizing on how Devil Triggering with a powerful Devil Arm once can have a strong effect on you. Like how Dante got stronger than Sparda after DMC1 after DTing with his blade.

I really hope he still kept that power. It's a cool way to give him upgrades.

The original Nightmare was a Blob Monster Boss from DMC1.
Series of bio weapons made by Mundus.
One was the Blob monster and there were at least two laser guns in the series.
Griffon was to be giant and red in DMC1, so Nightmare was similarly completely redesigned.

Griffon and Shadow need nightmare to recover becauses it uses it's own health to keep them alive so downing Shadow and Griffon forces nightmare to show up and stand still healing them both and losing it's own hp while you can also deal even more damage, the ideal is dodging nightmare until it leaves and then go jam on the cat and bird.

Here's what you do. Go into the Void. Pick V, set enemy as Fury, and give it a real health bar. Now fight it with just the cane. You need to do 2500 damage, after you've done over 2500 damage, you can just shoot it once with Griffon and it will go into death state. Keep doing this until you can kill the Fury with just the cane without getting hit. It takes like 20 minutes, and by the end, you'll know parry timings for every one of its attacks and you'll walk all over the fucking things with every character.

Or just spam Rawhide/Ice Age like everyone else.

When will Capcom make DLC alternate costumes that aren't just lazy recolors like EX? I miss them and would prefer not to have to rely on mods for that since we can only go so far swapping everyone around.

Go through levels using limited weapons/styles. At minimum you want to do each devil arm focusing on swordmaster and a pure guns run. This will force you to learn how to use his arsenal, and only when you learn them individually will you truly know how to mix them together.

You must be using a stone, I'm using a toaster with a RX480 and a FX 8320E and I'm running it high with 150% scale no drops others than when I get into online spots.

The latest drivers from Nvidia have been a crapshoot. So many problems with DX11 titles and they just released a hotfix today to fix some of the issues. I would try and use an older driver and see if it helps like is doing since the 4xx drivers have been nothing but trouble.

Tips on killing Vergil's doppelganger? I've mastered Royal Guard enough to get him to DT to no damage, RG his helmbreakers and forward rushes, and RG his flying. Anyway, so I can get through his DT rush with little issue but his Doppelganger adds more to the mix and I find myself taking a lot of damage as I try to focus on shooting it and I either die or lose enough hp that one hit will kill me

Proto Angelo becomes combo fodder if you parry him. If you just want to delete him as quickly as possible then for Nero parry with shuffle and use a charged buster arm, for Dante SinDT R2 or parry with flint wheel (Balrog kick mode back+SM) then chain real impacts.

When night is summoned, he will heal griffon and catto to full at the cost of his own health. Basically all damage you do to them hits nightmare in the end.
If you beat up griffon / shadow enough, they go to core form temporarily, if you beat the core enough, it gets a bit broken. While broken, griff / shadow wont respawn until nightmare resurrect them.

I'm going to checkmate all of your enemies mid-combo and you can do nothing to stop me.

if you have both kalinna annes equipped, you can hold down d-pad left to put one in the ground and use just one, this counts as a different weapon for style purposes.
as dante, you can jump on nightmare's back during his big fucking beam attack and aim it at shadow and griffon.
v's cane can parry attacks.
holding all shoulder buttons on the costume select screen let's you use short hair dante, and cracked skin V.

One DT'd stinger will destroy doppelganger outright with the added benefit of keeping you moving to avoid Vergil teleporting behind you/JCs, just stay dashing until you see an opening and EEEEYARRRRRGH the fucker out of existence.

If you can't adapt to an enemy being moved by snatching them back to you as Nero or teleporting right next to them as Dante or using one of the many ranged options every character has then you deserve all your suffering.

It's not Nell, Nico points at the engraving, not the portraits, which are just some unknown old art they got from god knows where.

Is there a significant difference in damage output between Dante weapons? I can't handle more than two weapons, so I use Dante and King Cerebus only. But now on DMD it takes so long to kill some enemies, that I will try to adapt to another weapon on my wheel. Which one is the strongest of all?

Enemies have too much health on DMD. I'd advise bringing in Balrog. Real Impact is Dante's strongest non-DT, non-Royal attack.
