Why does no one like ridge racer?
Why does no one like ridge racer?
Ridge Racer 64 is pretty good
I like Ridge Racer! Type 4 is my favourite!
I like Ridge Racer. zoomers hate ridge racer probably because they can't win any races.
>WOAH IT'S REGULAR CARS BUT YOU CAN CRASH INTO STUFF
it's not even fast
>CRASH
???
you need some perfect timings faggot
Rage Racer and Type 4 were good
why'd they use the generic NES font for everything?
In school I was the only one who played RR, I had the first game and the complete R4 set with that 60fps demo of RR1.
I drew the maps into my notebook and would memorize the turns, drew optimal (as optimal as my small kid brain thought) racing lines etc. I was obsessed.
There was a fat white kid who had an N64 and I guess in an attempt to get attention/make friends he would bring his carts to school to show off.
When I saw he had RR64 I immediately befriended him to get a change to play it.
>go over
>look at the fucking N64 in bewilderment
>the game looks like ass compared to R4
>I didn't understand why at the time but it didn't feel "as good". Now I know it's because it runs at a lower framerate
I beat his ass and he cried, avoided him since.
anyway yeah, RR64 fucking sucks
damn, the playstation versiosn are fucking ugly
64 can be played today, it's beautiful
sony payed namco big bucks for all the marketing they did
>smooth graphics looks like ass compared to blocky playshit version
I can see you never played any
Gran Turismo came out and killed the shitty unlicensed racan
nigger you take optimal lines, control your speed and drift when needed.
What the fuck is wrong with you?
How can you not enjoy making crazy hairpins at 200mph?
Fess up. How many times have to jerked it to Reiko?
All games on the N64 look shit
none because it was made using a man as a model
check your address bar
it should be niggergaf or faggotera
wow that's even better
n64 is trash
If by smooth you mean covered in vasaline, sure
Because simply put: the racing genre is dead.
Even when the racing genre was alive Ridge Racer stopped being relevant when other games came out with superior car handling and more than one racing circuit.
>more than one racing circuit
true
but in their defense, all arcade racing games had a small number of tracks because arcade machines
Because DAYTONAAAAAAA was better.
>imagine having a playstation in the 90's
don't hate your parents user
>one racing circuit
a very well designed one though.
The original RR and Daytona tracks are fucking perfection
>mariokart niggers come over
>they see this and question their life choices
shit bait pseudo zoomer.
Not realistic enough for a sim. Too realistic and safe to be arcade i.e. the middle ground of boring
Sony's E3 2006 conference
>they see this
flopped so hard it never got a sequel
Apart from its sequels
