Dmc vergil

Why is this pleb so hyped? Does he even have a defining character besides "muh power" and "fighting Dante"?

play devil may cry 3

Maybe of you actually played the games you would know.

Oh no, this arkham guy can't handle daddys power. Let's fight him with my brother to fight my brother afterwards.

Pretty much no character.

He's the opposite of Dante, in both character and moveset. Where Dante is all flash and wild and uncontrolled, Vergil is calculated and methodical.

His moveset, Yamato in particular, is fucking fantastic.

So you haven't played the games. Good to know.

Tell me where I'm wrong.

5 pretty much ruined him as a charcter when they decided to have beating Dante his be all end all goal.

mommy issues not daddy.

Everywhere. Vergil has one of the most defined characters in the series. It's your fault for being a retard for not getting that.

Because, whether we realize it or not, we relate to him. We all, especially when we played DMC3 when we were younger, wanted to be him; a cool anime swordsman. We empathized with him being a bit of an autist cuz we were too and friend-having chad Dante gets the best of him like friend-having chads got the best of us IRL.

Oh look, another brainlet who lacks the mental capacity to understand a video game story.

He is as autistic as all of, that is a big plus

No you are right that is literally his character. But he is cool af in DMC3. Very disappointed in his DMC5 portrayal though.

CUZ HE'S MOTIVATED

his fights are fun

V literally says that Vergil's final goal was beating Dante. That's an inferiority complex if I've ever seen one. It reminds me of DmC Vergin too. It his delusions from his DLC.

how can it ruin his character when that's his motivation in 3 too. to gain enough power to thoroughly beat his brother. he just needs his amulet there to do that. he doesn't want to win by an inch, but a mile.

You didn't understand 3. He didn't want to beat Dante. Beating Dante was just part of it to get the other half of the amulet. Even if he did, He already destroyed Dante in their first fight. He wanted to get Sparda's powers to cover for his trauma of being weak when he wasn't able to save Eva. It's why he constantly touches his amulet and he even asks Dante why he doesn't aim for more power. They went through the same experience but Dante had a different answer. All of his lines pointed to it and the final fight ends with Vergil reaches out for his mother's amulet rather than the Force Edge, something he desired to get his father's power.

>He already destroyed Dante in their first fight. He wanted to get Sparda's powers to cover for his trauma of being weak when he wasn't able to save Eva
he wanted to beat him thoroughly to prove his strength. and I agree about him wanting to be strong to make up for not being able to protect his mother, and 5 enforces this. if he beats dante soundly then it can serve as a justification that he might have been able to save eva if he was with her instead of dante, since his brother was with her before she died. it's sibling rivalry mixed with resentment and him trying to rationalize him being a factor in her death. 5 fits his character just fine.

Nothing points to that. Nothing in 3 points to that. They had a rivalry but they always had opposing views and reasons to fight. Why did Vergil want to beat Dante in 5? Oh He just got assblasted about losing in 1 and 3. That's pathetic for your main antagonist. It's Vergin tier level of pathetic. I can't be assed to want to beat this guy.

>Nothing in 3 points to that.
he says something like "you have to have strength to protect what you love. can't you see that?"

more important, why is he still like a little child?
doesn't he have enough power to fuck up most demons?
stop acting like you don't have enough power for fucks sake

So, if that's true, then WHY the fuck is Vergil supposed to be the bad guy? His actions seem reasonable and Dante doesn't even have a different answer to that problem.

They literally explain why he wants to beat Dante in 5. He wants to prove his method of strength is superior, so he doesn't feel like a douche. V literally says the brothers are destined to fight because of their polar opposite ideals. Dante believes in strength through embracing humanity, Vergil believes in strength through casting aside humanity and embracing demon heritage.

And in the end, theyre both wrong, because for Dante to become powerful, he embraces his demon side, along with humanity, and Vergil does the same thing upon rejoining Urizen with V. He recognizes each side is not powerful enough, and reconciles to rejoin both halves together. They both get btfo and accept strength comes from accepting both sides of their heritage. Like Nero does.

>doesn't he have enough power to fuck up most demons?
>doesn't he have enough
no such thing.

Nice bait. Get out now.

It's an action video game about killing demons with swords and he does his job as villain well. The last time an action game focused on story Yea Forums wouldn't stop calling it a movie.

>The last time an action game focused on story Yea Forums wouldn't stop calling it a movie
what game are you talking about?

God of War

I could've swore you were gonna say Uncharted. But that one too

the combat was pretty poor and they sacrificed a lot of gameplay for the story. that's why it's gets called a moviegame.

His character is "I was too weak in the past so everyone died, I'll become stronger so I'll never lose anything ever again"
When his mother rescued Dante but couldn't find him misinterpreted it as his mom choosing to save Dante and sacrifice Vergil, because Dante was stronger; they already had sibling rivalry but now it's amplified to "fuck you for existing" levels over the misunderstanding.
Vergil goes on a quest to become strong so he'll never lose anything ever again, but ironically his quest for power costs him everything he has - even the opportunity to know and raise his own son.

Antagonist doesn't mean 'bad guy', its simply a character whose goals contrast the protagonist.

Eh go easy on him, user. You're probably talking to someone who thinks more than .000001% of anime has a decent story. We call those people "retards".

The entire series is built on having a juvenile sense of "cool" characters.
Vergil just fucking oozes cool, judgment cuts and MOTIVATION are fucking cool.

Thank you for setting the record straight, user. I was afraid I'd have to school this chump on the concept of storytelling.

Ah Yea Forums, never change.

hes the cool and handsome foil to Dante
