Skullgirls is like the only new IP that stuck in the fgc. But that's a more classically designed fighting game, it's actually engaging and feels good. The zoomer fighting games made by zoomers for zoomers feel pretty bad to play. You can just feel the awkward physics, you can see the non-impactful and bloated looking hits and blocks. fighting games are a legacy video game genre is why. Only OG's make fighting games pretty much. There's a reason why most new fgs are just series continuations or a licensed game made by a company that has it's roots in arcade releases. You sure as hell don't see a Blizzard, Valve, EA and etc. making fighting games because they have no legacy with them but a Capcom, NAMCO, SNK, Netherream(Midway) and etc will likely always keep making fighting games.
