I'm playing The Division 2 atm and I forgot how much I like this kind of game. Just stick on a podcast and get right into the grind, numbers and plans ticking away in your head.The only other 'looter' I've played besides TD2 is BL1/2. Both are OK games, I preferred/played more of 1 I think. I liked the more laid back atmosphere, 2 was a bit too much and the references and humour pulled me out the world a bit, whereas 1 actually felt alien.
Anyways, my only worry is that they lean too much into the Games as a Service model, as I'm sure Randy would love some of that Destiny money. Hopefully it's just a chill co-op game, and not some always online, MTX ridden version of BL.

And I hope we actually see fucking gameplay, and it's not just some 'character' trailer or some bs like that.

to answer your implied question, the payoff for looter shooters occurs whenever you get a big power increase. unfortunately, this is typically random, and in my experience happens too frequently to be fun, or will often happen far too rarely, which leaves the player no choice but to successfully complete a task repeatedly until they can continue, as the genre's progression is often gated behind reaching an expected power level before proceeding.
that change in habit would be a good one. it helps me make fewer compulsive purchases while also ensuring each unit sold holds equal value. i liked it when factorio did it, and i like that we now apparently have an entire storefront with that mentality, though i still haven't seen a source for that - haven't looked, to be fair.

My hope is that vehicles are dropped or that they make them and large travel hubs engaging to be in. You spend a lot of time in both games driving around, but they just seem to exist to band-aid the poor area design, it's almost like moving between areas is a punishment

Jack is the only good VA in any BL game.

Everyone is pretty damn good in the pre-sequel. Aurelia and Claptrap are probably the only characters held back by bullshit multiplayer specific skills.
Jack > Nisha > Athena = Wil> Aurelia > Clap

honestly he wouldnt be that bad if he had skills that were useful outside of coop. like two of his trees are completely invalidated in solo play

Athena's shield gets better, but also shitting fire and lightning in general makes you feel like all the Avengers rolled into one.

in Ultimate Vault Hunter mode enemies get their healths bars tripled and get a constant health regen, but Slag gets doubled in effectiveness and the game straight up tells you upon starting the playthrough that Slagging everything is the way to go. i remember even the common Bandit Marauder taking 3-4 magazines from a Legendary before going down without slag
Yea Forums will shitpost and say that True Vault Hunter mode and even regular mode requires it too, but that one's a straight up lie
