Why don't most people seem to prefer Ranger as a class?

Because they're usually a shitty mishmash of fighter and thief with an animal companion that becomes useless halfway through the game.

This.

i like the idea but watching a character shoot 2 shots a second or like 10 arrows at a time is stupid to watch.
1 shot every 2 seconds with a knockdown/back would be nice, but that's to slow for people

But it's just fucking 3 pixel long 1pixel wide pew pew toothpicks ur shooting, it feels like garbage 90% of the time.

what are you, a fucking elf?

Because they often domt actually get abilities people would want

>uhhhh rapid shot
>uuhhh power shot
>hmmmm TRIPLE SHOT WOAH

Ranger and Warrior and Thief are the ultimate scrubs classes.

wouldn't the buckles on her bracer get in the way of the string?

Because swinging melee weapons is a lot more interesting than pulling a fucking string.

It really isn't irl. It only looks more interesting in games and movies because sword fights in those are more of the fighters fucking dancing than actually fighting. Bows will be more "interesting" as well if the users spent every other second twirling and spinning like fucking ballerinas but for some reason people call that out as stupid when an archer does it but not a swordsman.

Just go on google and type sword fighting. Thousands of photos depicting different types of weapons, style and combat.

>Just go on google and type sword fighting.
Are you really suggesting that any photo I pull off of google are accurate ways of using a sword? Even the more legitimate ones among those "styles" are theorycrafting by people who have not actually been in a real sword fight and have little to no practical use, they're about as useful in a real combat situation as martial arts like capoeira. Just because someone wrote a manual a few hundred years ago on his anime-tier swordsmanship does not make the ridiculous fighting stances legitimate.

>photos depicting different types of weapons
I mean of course if you compare a single weapon (the bow) to a whole bunch of other different weapons you're going to find that the larger group of weapons has more varied ways of being used, what did you expect?

>stabs u in the dick
>steals ur stuff
psssh nothin personnel kid

Because a character needs to look good outside of combat as they do inside combat and games never know what to fucking do with bows when they are "holstered" so you just get this floating tilted now hanging off your back that makes no sense and always looks stupid as hell.

Only add creed 3 had it right with the bow being slung across your shoulder, until a game figured out that people want better holstered gear then nobody will play the classes with weird hanky weapons.

I'd stick my cock in her, if you know what I mean.

bowblades

>Ranged attacks are weak
>Ranged attacks have little/no meaningful utility
>Get fucked by melee classes and magic classes

irrelevant

>be a ranger class
>doesn't protect the woods
>goes on a random adventure instead
>never uses knowledge of flora and fauna

It should be half nature-scholar half badass fighter with hunter skills. Instead, we get faggot ranged attacker that is useless than any other party member.

How will rangers ever recover?

Call itsuno and he will make your class look cool as fuck

A truly sneaky bastard is the only thing able to deprive a wizard of his prep time, which makes for a warrior/range/mage triangle, even if it can be thrown off
I'm reminded of getting pinged with arrows as a caster character who otherwise stopped anyone from getting to arm's length

Underrated post. This. It's the same boring shit every time, but the warrior gets the coolest shit and the mage? He can get whatever because magic! But rangers, what to do? Bows, arrows? That's it man. There are so many more unused possibilities, honestly, the main stream audience probably doesn't even care.

Cus they never played bunny thumper, ganked in gvg, nor touch ranger.

Inquisitors are significantly better, that's why.

Almost no game makes interesting use of their survival and tracking skills.
Worse, a lot of games seem to think ranger = archer or the weird d&d fighter/thief/druid nonsense.
