Play through Zero and Ao next. The fan translations out now are a little rough, but perfectly serviceable.
Then brace yourself for the disappointment that is Cold Steel. I've never had my love for a series so horribly butchered until I played 1 and 2, and from what I'm hearing 3 is merely 'okay' and 4 is a complete fucking disaster (outside of one cool thing happening at the ending involving a couple of sky characters).

1 and 2 didn't completely kill my hopes, but that's probably because I played Zero/Ao after I played them. At the very least, I had expectations for 3 because it left Rean and some other characters in an interesting situation to play the story around with but 3 just became another FC/CS1 and served as a jumping off point to lay the groundwork for 4 so it's just even more padding. At that point the cast is so fucking big that they can't develop anyone.
