It will stick around for a bit & is probably the most popular amongst its series, but it's still not a Generation defining game, or a defining JRPG, or one that will be consider the peak of the genre. Hell, it can't even be agreed upon to be the best of its own series. Again, a Persona/SMT rep is fine, but a more universal rep for the series would have been better. I can already also smell from a mile away the P5 only content from the game. Something like

in contrast, golden sun is an actual flavor-of-the-month franchise. they were boring "jrpgs by committee" that people only bought because the gba didn't have the greatest library of jrpgs. by the time the ds was in its prime with a god-tier jrpg lineup, golden sun was completely forgotten, which is why dark dawn flopped compared to the first two games.

Since every mainline game in the Persona series has a different cast, with no returning characters from past games, except for Igor.
The only character who would be universal for the series would be P4's MC Yu Narukami, and that's just because he got milked to death by atlus.
