I had around 200+ hours on Ark and I believe me when I say it's a terrible game that no one should play. Luckily I got a refund since I requested it immediately once it left early access. Unless you're on a private server, it's shit, it's stressful, and being the top tribe on a server isn't what it's cracked out to be.

Don't get into it. Not only is it like having a second job, the game is designed to feel like all your progress could get completely wiped at any moment, whether it be from enemy players, glitches, wild dinos getting into places they shouldn't be, somebody forgetting to fill a trough or put fuel in a generator, etc.

As of posting this, I'm starting on Small Tribes.

A). A lot of the things from DLC are available in other maps, the exceptions mostly being from the freshly-launched DLC from November.
B). Everything together is sub-$60 on keysites.

600 Hours put into this game, stay away from it.

Anything good the devs ruin if it's too good for large tribes.
There's meshing issues, so if you don't build your base in specific places someone can mesh into it without having to deal with your defenses.
Breeding is an entirely different game of autism.
Most official servers are owned by a mega-tribe that you will not be able to take down, and they'll more than likely speak moonspeak.

It has PvP servers, which is the only reasonable way of playing. Collectathons are objectively surpassed by [mastery, freedom of options, and social relevance].

I tired to get friends to play the game but they realize fairly quickly that it was unfinished garbage.

one of my favorite games of all time in early release. Not a fan of the big dinos that can chomp metal or pick up player dinos and take into sky etc.

I played hardcore server and it was a blast.
Also the server that reset every month is fun too.
