Literally the best thing you could do in that game was customize pairings/preferences by custom creating the exact matches. Characters started the game with friendship on day one.

Skin color, hair length/color, body weight/size. It was great once you got the hang of it, but NTR was just about impossible. Anyone that didn't hit multiple preferences was seen as invisible. So the characters had to be created with vast differences to maintain pairings.

You save the .pngs to your UserData->Scene folder, then open them in Character Studio, not Koikatsu itself. Character Studio is a essentially a posing program, and the benefit of saving scenes is the ability to add your own characters and make adjustments to fit your tastes.

Illusion bounces back and forth between anime-style and more realistic art styles pretty evenly. There are plenty of people who prefer Honey Select over AA2 and Koikatsu for its art style, and Illusion is at least smart enough not to leave sections of their fanbase in the cold.

It's not confirmed, so don't believe anything he says. There's no reason why the main game may not get an update to allow the Emotion Creator files to be used in it. It's more likely that Emotion Creator will serve as it's own kind of studio to create these things and the main game would be required to make play them.

There's still no reason why Emotion Creators itself won't have a free H mode to test out the animations.

One is more gameplay focused, but hasn't aged that well- mods are available, but is probably stagnant after AA2Mini. The other is customization focused and looks great, and there's new DLC coming out, but has very little gameplay. The VN maker will fix this somewhat.

The main game already plays like a VN kinda-sorta, except you can go around interacting with everyone you put into your school like AA2- the VN maker could let you fuck around with some what if scenarios, or go full autism. The animation editor theoretically allows an indefinite number of H scenes. There's also the dark DLC coming up, though we know fuck all about it. Could guess that it might bring back some stuff from AA2 like murder and students being arrested. Yuri's also coming up.
It's not much, but it works.

Koikatsu gets bland FAST, AA goes second, while cm3d2 is pretty lengthy because kiss keeps on releasing content like fucking cash cow they are. It's kind if hard to recommend com3d2 though since it feels like an experimental trash and they have the gall to charge for it
