Literally the most fun I’ve had in a game since Dark souls 1.
Every fight feels so amazing. I love the posture system and think it’s the best way to do sword play in gaming history.
I love the setting.
I love the characters.
I love every boss fight besides guardian ape.
I love how it feels so hard when you first play it but after you break through that wall you realize it’s not that bad at all.

Actually, on the topic, isn't the Simon Says meme from before the game came out? Once people actually started playing they realized that there isn't a unique Kanji for each move and that it just lets you know "this can't be blocked." Outside of that, it's like every single action game where you need to read the enemy's movements to know how to respond.

Many people argue that the game can have a lot of replayability on a second or third playthrough if you upgrade different prosthetics, but they are pretty lackluster as they are; you're already a parry and deflect god after you finish the game, trying to incorporate the gadgets in your playstyle will only hold you back.

Please help I've been banging my head against him for an hour and can't get him below around 50% on phase 1. Every other boss I've at least felt like I was making progress, but his health is so massive that even though I can avoid all of his combos 4 times out of 5, that one I fuck up just wears me down before I can make a decent dent in his health.

MH, Souls, Sekiro, BB, Dragons Dogma. All these games have good combat with design strengths/weaknesses.
Of the lot, I personally and in my opinion prefer Sekiro over the other souls games I think its more 'fluid' even if you could consider it basically rock/paper/scissors, using parry as the basis of defence, with jumping and dodging as secondaries for special attacks is a better system in my view than Souls which is either just holding up a shield, or rolling away continuously.
But DD is my favorite because climbing giant monsters and stabbing them is fun even if it was never balanced.

Everyone has their preferences and they are both different games, so I can only speak for myself. Sekiro felt way more rewarding to fight every boss because the margin for error is so small, whereas DMC in general you are fighting not to win the fight but to win with a high style meter for the rewards. In that game its not about overcoming challenges just to proceed but to overcome a self constructed challenge for the rewards

Which will vary from person to person. I had good fun playing once on devil hunter and even did the last two missions a couple of times because they were cool, but 1 playthrough for that game was enough for me.
