Why do people like this console so much? It literally has no games, all the good ones got ported to the PS2 and Gamecube.
Why do people like this console so much? It literally has no games...
Power Stone
It has the best Soul Reaver
That's about it.
Memorable unique games, died soon so people like to wonder about "what if" scenarios, easy to pirate for, nostalgia, etc.
Ps2 had powerstone and jet set radio?
It’s what I grew up with and has some of my favorite games. The system itself is mostly irrelevant today because almost every quality game got ported to something.
>has no games
>console known for its arcade perfect ports in a time where it still mattered
>had literally all of Capcom's later CPS-2/3 and NAOMI games except Warzard
It had fucking Shenmue
Zoomers are retarded.
Many of its games were ported but its still nice to go back and play them how they were originally designed.
It has a comfy controller, the VMU is novel, the boot beep and dreamcast logo sound nice, and the disc reading spins have a wonderful noise. Its mostly aesthetics and nostalgia, but the controller really does feel nice.
>it's a good console because it's entire library are arcade ports
>all the good ones got ported to the PS2 and Gamecube
here's the answer, the Dreamcast had an amazing library for a console that only lived a little more than two years
people remember 1999~2001 fondly
I hate playing on actual Dreamcast hardware. Everything I pop a game in it sounds like the console is going to die at any minute. Is DC emulation any better than it was 2 years ago?
Its a good console cause you can just burn downloaded games to CD-R's.
I bought it in 2013 and it was fun to play Unreal Tournament, Outrigger, and PSO single player. I want to play online but I gotta get some more CD-Rs to burn the Sylverant patcher (unless the SD Serial port dongle can work for it)
Arcade ports are the only acceptable type of ports to count as exclusives. It's hardware is the reason why many arcade games like Dinosaur King are able to be emulated today
I think it just comes down to the library of games. There were a lot of unique and interesting titles that really seemed to push the bounds of creative gaming. Games like Jet Set Radio, Space Channel 5, or Crazy Taxi. Apart from that the console was pretty comfy and had a lot of really interesting features. It really comes down to a loss of great potential
Had some legit games as well as being the poorfag's console of choice that gen.
Nope neither.
You can find HD Jet Set Radio on last-gen consoles. And you can find Power Stone for PSP if you really want to play those games
>jet set radio?
Xbox got a superior version.
Still have mine and works great.
I only have problems with the PSO. Crashes in some early mission. Sad sad.
>Propeller Arena
>Power Stone and Heavy Metal Geomatrix
You can see how Microsoft implemented the Dreamcast controller into their designs for the original Xbox
it's got good games, even if they were ported to other systems as well
would play Re-Volt, GTA2, Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX, Mortal Kombat 4, MDK2, Worms Armageddon and Virtua Cop 2 on it if I had one
it's a completely different game
>good hardware
>excellent exclusives at the time
>best arcade ports
>top notch image quality over VGA
>first console with internet support
The VMU's are always the first thing I think of when the dreamcast. Raising chao in the middle of class was the best.
Shit was ahead of its fucking time.
> Not a single Mega Man game released for the system
Come on, even the Saturn had 3
