I was surprised at how fun the game was. It was also funny how the battle mechanics could be either very fun or absolute ass because of how it tried to implement its triangle mechanic. But to be honest, as soon as you get Ratha, there's pretty much no reason to build any other monstie (apart giving me some bad Pokemon breeding vibes) and there's almost no reason to do the postgame. I never bothered with multiplayer.

Yeah, the skill system is too heavily restricted by RNG, both by what slots are available and whether you can get the skills you want in the slots you want. The game actually got more fun when I found a save editor and could place skills freely while trying to get as many bonuses as possible.

If you have no love for the monsters you probably won’t enjoy it. Most of my enjoyment from the game came from the novelty of riding genetic abomination pecos and nercsyllas.
