i always switched to certain stations when i was in certain places in the game:
los santos: radio los santos, the dust, playback
san fierro: sfur, bounce, radio x
the country: the dust and krose
las venturas: csr, master sounds
blended in wctr for all places. didn't care much for kjah.

How come this is the closest to an RPG they've ever put out with stats actually affecting gameplay like CHristmas having a heart attack if he's too fat while RDR 2 doesn't have shit like that? KDST is the best station because its the most versatile and fits nearly every area in the game. There isn't a single place where RUNNIN' DOWN A DREAM could be playing and you'd feel the need to change it for something else.

For me, in terms of radio stations:
SA > VC > GTA V > GTA IV > GTA III

In San Andreas, Vice City, and even 3 I can listen to and enjoy every radio station.
In GTA IV and V half the stations are garbage.
