Isometric beat em up

Attached: cbc21ff12c6733ef671749ae5fa55adc.jpg (1341x530, 260K)

2 god hands

Exactly like the original. Pure garbage.

why are there no more good beat em ups

streets of rage / turtles in time style

Dude, have you played Fightn Rage? Is the best classic/modern beatem up ever made

like god hand but 2

Well, here's what it would be like if it was made by most modern developers
>lock on button
>everything is slowed down like 5x as much from the original so casuals can more easily react
>no more tank controls, you dodge similar to DMC and you have a dodge roll
>roulette moves are now each 30 seconds long
>roulette bar passively recharges
>no more kick me sign-type challenge run
>juggles downplayed a bunch
>humour and wackiness played down a bunch and way more PC

I've started a no kick me run on easy but bosses and stronger chumps are such health sponges. Are there any general tips I could follow to make it more bearable?
Also how does dodge cancelling work? You're supposed to be able to cancel everything but cancelling startup frames interrupts the attack, so I should be going for moves with long recovery frames to cancel them?

>no kick me run
huh, so that's what a stroke feels like

Oh my god I dont want this to happen

I don't want god hand 2, I just want a remake of the first and if done well I would be hyped as hell for a sequel.

Set it further in the future, no "origins" or "wielder of the first god hand" please. Gene can either be the final boss or a secret boss(I'd prefer secret hobo boss myself). Have more than a western setting aesthetic have all the classic b-movie post-apoc settings. Also God Feet. Also starring V from Devil May Cry V.

>Mikami promised there will be a God Hand 2
>Suda promised there will be a Killer 7 final

The best timeline us just up ahead

Sauce

There's a lot of moves with a long cooldown after the hit. YMK being the best example. Get the hit, then dodge so you can spam it.

Attached: Yes Man Kablaam.gif (91x158, 900K)

Would you play a God Hand sequel done by Itsuno? He had nothing to do with the original iirc but obviously did an outstanding job with DMC5 in pretty much every aspect.

but it has such a long startup animation. is it even worth using in that case?
I always thought that the square button techniques were supposed to be fast as fuck strikes so you get more pummels and that the damage isn't really noteworthy.

Of course I would

YMK is worth it because it charges your meter. It's a really cheap way to play and it's easier than you think to get the hits it. Haven't played in a while but I'm pretty sure you also dodge cancel in order to high kick spam, which is equally cancerous.

>Mikami promised there will be a God Hand 2
Where the actual fuck did he say that? He only ever said he would love to work on another God Hand and he literally has no say in if it gets made or not or if he gets to work on it.

but it's a kick me challenge run so meter doesnt even matter.

>Also how does dodge cancelling work? You're supposed to be able to cancel everything but cancelling startup frames interrupts the attack, so I should be going for moves with long recovery frames to cancel them?
Look up moike kobes guides on god hand he goes over that stuff.

you can put literally whatever you want on square it doesn't matter it's just that yeah typically fast strikes are better.

here's dodge cancelling at it's finest (and worst)
youtube.com/watch?v=1CaQzJLLqyw

It's all about style man

Do you even unlock anything for a kick me run?

nintendolife.com/news/2019/03/suda51_and_capcom_producer_promise_killer7_extended_console_cut

I lost the source but he did once promise he would at least do something similar to God Hand again

If the promise he supposedly made was more than 3 years ago it is completely meaningless

Attached: 1551240363390.png (749x694, 988K)

I think a Gi and Music tracks

Instead of paying homage to Hokuto no Ken, it pays homage to Souten no Ken.

What's the best way to play this nowadays?
Just burn it and play on a modded PS2?

I really liked this game but I only played a bit in the first level some years ago. I wanna get into it.

It works on a PS2 emulator pretty well. Most people would probably tell you to play it on a real PS2 if you can tho

Itsuno could do it. He has shown that he is smart enough to “get” a game even if he wasn’t there at its inception.

Consider the following:
>Camera controls and character movement identical to DMC5
>Add a soft lock on button that works pretty much like the roulette lockon, except you can hold it
>While holding the soft lock on, the right stick now handle dodges instead of camera placement.

I agree, also I think DMC and God Hand have similar enough elements that it wouldn't be as hard for him to understand and produce though who knows if he could make the game as comedic, DMC5 has a lot of cheese but how much cheese compared to how much cool is basically reversed for god hand

Why? Emulating it is a better overall experience.

This is legitely a good idea and a great way to get rid of tank controls.

>Camera controls and character movement identical to DMC5
No
This is God Hand, not Devil May Cry

Ambidextrous

because muh OG gamer status

No I don't want it to be like DMC but I do want some kind of soft lock-on. I'm not against getting rid of lock on but they absolutely cannot get rid of a dedicated dodge button with the stick

What benefits the tank control camera brings? Tank controls were in the original game just because the second stick needed to be the dodge stick.
If he could get both normal camera controls and the dodge stick working at the same time, he would have done it.

PCSX2 has notoriously bad input lag making a game like NIGGER Hand harder than it should be. 432

Not him but it would ruin the pace of the game. DMCV is all about being super fast in speedy, God Hand is not. They are both stylish but in different ways. While DMC is more about having the most stylish combos, God Hand is more stylish when it comes to your test of skills on how you handle fighting the enemies and in what ways.

Having a full range of your movement in camera would end up making the game a lot easier and would break the flow

Damn, then I should probably go for the original experience.

I know there's probably not that much demand (since it didn't sell well I think?) but HD remake or port when...

More importantly, when is platinum gonna make a god hand spirirtual successor teaming up with Mikami? iirc Kamiya said God Hand said it's his favorite game he never worked on and Inaba, who was a lesser known but still important developer on god hand works at platinum as well

Is God Hand the Kung Pow of video games?

I wish they went for this cover like originally intended..

There are Yakuza games now stop shilling this shit game

No. God Hand is actually good.

Are you that stupid or you are just kidding?

Yakuza combat is flashy but in no way good. Not gonna rant about it here but it's honestly one of the most frustrating action games to play ever because the enemy and combat design is pure bullshit

>but in no way good
It is though. It isn't as in depth as something like God Hand but it is still enjoyable.

I didn't say it wasn't enjoyable but it's completely different and it's a lot more button mashing and doing flashy moves than being a game about skill

God Hand was a fucking meme back when i was in college (2008) and its still a meme now. No one fucking liked god hand except Yea Forums and that was supposed to be just a funny ironic meme. I fucking laugh at retards like you who actually thinks god hand is anything of value.

Attached: 1552679309759m.jpg (1024x1024, 161K)

It's cool as fuck and you're dumb

Attached: god hand.webm (720x480, 2.83M)

Go ahead and say what's bad about God Hand, go into specifics rather than general stuff like "the combat is a meme!" or "it plays like shit!" that mean nothing and make it more obvious you're baiting

My god, it's even worse than I thought

I bet you play JRPG's

Try to finish highschool before posting here again, faggot

Fuck you, it's genuinely a great game and still one of the best in the genre, also the funniest

Attached: 1531224942684.jpg (719x832, 110K)

Attached: god hand 2.webm (640x360, 2.92M)

I love JRPGs too. God Hand is easily in my top 10 best games ever made. I'd rather bet he's a goddamn normalfag which is far more likely on nu-Yea Forums these days

>Sony released it on PS3 in the Us Store as a PS2 Classic but won't do it again on the PS4
Come on you niggas, or Capcom just rerelease it, We got Metal Wolf Chaos through Meme Magic we can get God Hand as well

you're not alexander

>sony rerelasing god hand
>the same god hand with tons of sexual and ""derogatory"" stuff
>the same sony that censors anime hips
keep dreaming buddy

The combat is so fucking dumb and comical that i literally burst out laughing when i see someone unironically brag about it using a webm. Also, the soundtrack is pretentious as fuck with that shitty 90s tier anime music that every boss fight encounter has that jolly comedy feel to it rather than actually getting you hyped.

A decade ago, boomers from Yea Forums were meming godhand to be the pinnacle of beat em ups so retards like you can actually defend it today and we get to laugh at you faggots. People tend to think you guys are a cult following but in reality everyone who defends this dung just got played by a decade old meme

Attached: 93C2E4E8E3B74EC28428D480E38AC517.jpg (813x535, 70K)

I just want another re-release, The games sparse as fuck in the UK and there's only 1 CEX I know hours away from me that has a copy, I want the suffering to end.

>user says use a reason that isn't "The combat is a meme"
>Proceeds to just say the Combat is a meme
Nice one

>DMCV
>RE2 Remake
>Megaman 11
>Shit ton of ports of old games
>MH on main console + PC
s-surely god hand re-release or sequel is possible right?

>Unironically uses "Boomer"
>"We"
Stop pretending you're anything but a post-2016 tourist who can't stand games made before 2010.

Mikami mentioned in an interview a while back that he'd probably introduce RPG elements, which sounds fucking horrible.

looks like a jank piece of shit, and not in a good way

There's already loose RPG-esque elements given your moves are treated like equipment and can be bought and sold.

So basically, you didn't go into specifics but used a lot more words to say something super general that doesn't actually mean anything. Overall i'll give this a 3/10 bait though bonus for using epic le jim reaction image to show the sense that you're smug for your opinion. You should've added a bit of real truth to this or at least a common opinion about something that is bad about god hand (bad graphics, no level design, or w/e) to make it seem more believable.

>m-muh prerendered cutscene god of war buttonmasher looks way more epic and cool

Source? Also I don't see how RPG elements would really ruin it the game already kind of has RPG elements just instead of getting XP from fighting enemies you get it randomly or spend hours at a casino gambling so you can buy a cool new move. A skill tree MIGHT be nice too but only for giving us new tools. If it locked out moves we should have right away (like specific dodges, certain universal moves, etc) then it would be dog shit.

If capcom or someone else doesn't do it, i'll do it, eventually. I have 0 game making experience but when I eventually get a genuinely good PC I want to try my hands at trying to remake god hand no matter how long it takes then try my hands at improving it or making a new game or something. Don't screencap this because it'll probably never happen but damn it would be nice.

gamelab.es/2015/news/gamelab-mikami-honor/
>Looking back, he admitted too that he would be interested in going back to Dino Crisis or resurrect the God Hand franchise as a role-playing game.

You don’t need a good pc to start

How do I start then user? I honestly haven't looked much into it but i'd ideally want to work with UE4. I might not need a good PC but how the hell can I develop a game when I can't even run CS:GO at a consistent 45 fps? I'm surprised I can even run god hand considering so many other games I try to emulate run like dog shit

Fine you fucks i'll tell you about God Hand's problems.
First of all the camera is genuinely janky as fuck. There's no easy way of changing lock on targets, you have to open the roulette wheel to even see who the fuck you're targeting and it often locks unto the wrong enemy which easily fucks you over since ALL movement is relative to where you're looking.
Second of all are the demons. Them spawning randomly is such a stupid decision and their design are even worse. Teleporting around while you're trying to keep your eyes on them with tank controls only for them to appear behind you and hit you before you're able to LB is just retarded. I once had two demons spawn in the same difficult room and it just fucked me because "rng lol".
Thirdly is that the combat works best in 1v1 situations. This is why you always see webms and gifs and videos and shit against devil hand because dashing around five mooks and whittling them down with the occasional jab and knockdown is boring as shit.
Fourth, some bosses are shitty. Multi enemy bosses (such as the band, gold & silver, the faggot trio etc) suck dick for reasons above and the other bosses are so huge and wonky they just flail around like a failed dark souls boss making you unable to dodge shit properly.
Fifth, the game is balanced around using your god hand which isn't fun. Becoming literally invulnerable and doing a bazillion damage every hit is far from enjoyable and feels like a crutch at times. If you decide not to use it then enjoy playing a game heavily balanced against you with health pools bigger than olivia's ass
Sixth, some segments of the game suck and are there because ""puzzles"". the boat especially was a pain in my ass
Seventh, everything can be cancelled but unless you're clawing it doesn't matter since the time it takes to move your thumb from the face button to the analog stick already nullifies the advantage you get from cancelling shit. Clawing DESTROYS your fingers in godhand

Attached: man1.jpg (1300x866, 82K)

And this is excluding all the subjective shit such as the soundtrack, graphics, voice acting and all the controversial shit involved. I personally don't give a shit about any of these but some do and they're valid reasons for disliking the game.
Don't get me wrong, the game is genuinely good but it's janky as fuck and it's coolness factor doesn't save it for everyone. Dismissing complaints about the "meme-worthy combat" is stupid, your le secret club is stupid and you're all fucking dumb for reading my giga rant

That's pretty broad, it could really mean anything. Again bring RPG elements to God Hand isn't bad considering pretty much every action game has RPG elements but remaking it as an RPG? who knows what that even could mean

Sounds like you just suck ass at the game. Those bosses you listed in particular are all great, 1vX scenarios are all about crowd control and where the actual depth of the combat system comes into play, the god hand itself is a crutch and the game even rewards you for never using it, and I guess your hands are just cripplingly small because I've never had a problem dodge-cancelling anything. Maybe if you actually played the game enough to get some practice in you'd do better.

Seething Sukirolet.

You know the rule. If your so great...

>turtles in time

Attached: Integrity.png (640x478, 431K)

Camera being janky is a valid point
Demons spawning randomly is good, it keeps you on your toes no matter what. Also get better reactions if you die because they teleport behind you and you can't reach fast enough to kick them.
>point 3 and 4
youtube.com/watch?v=HR7YzoZ2YeI&feature=youtu.be
>the game is balanced around using your god hand
It isn't, roulette moves are literally a crutch to get you out of bad situations/finish enemies off you're having trouble with + for styling.

I think you forgot the game has a minimap showing enemies position SPECIFICALLY so you can better fight multiple enemies, especially teleporting demons

>the soundtrack is pretentious as fuck
I never knew Elvis samples and guitar licks were pretentious

The fuck?
I love God Hand and Sekiro is the closest we'll ever get to God Hand 2, how can you dislike Sekiro if you like God Hand?

Hopefully not as bad as God Hand 1.

fpbp

Some of the best games ever made are loaded with jank. Get out, scrub.

Attached: 1522846144573.png (407x659, 295K)

Demons arent RNG chance to spawn, they are predetermined when the area loads. There are a few that are guaranteed to show up so that is how you typically end up with two at once.

Theres nothing wrong with the camera, stop being shit. You just need to position better and you never hit the wrong enemy... why are you letting more than one mook up that close at the same time?

On that note managing multiple enemies isnt even that hard with all the dodges you do. Never a problem unless you have all slow hita on your combo, you can easily dizzy for relief qtes or use the free moves like the launch and uppercut to pull other enemies in the combo.

Nothing wrong with the bosses. There arent very many of these so called big bosses and you can dodge all their moves if you bothered to learn. G&S you can combo both at once with a roulette when they do their combo. You can infinite uppercut all 5 mad midgets at once if you set up right. You can have Felix overrun the other two fags when does the bull charge. There are plenty of options.

And no shit the game is balanced around your powers.... but I doubt you ever bothered to do a kick me sign run and learn the games combat for real. There is honestly more broken shit like drunken twist cancelling that destroys every single enemy while you cannot be hit.

How well does this emulate? Is the input lag bearable?

Someone else said the input lag sucks but in my personal experience it wasn't as bad.It emulates well though you might have to look at some guides for the right settings

what kind of settings and enemies would you all expect in god hand 2?

god hand 1 kinda ran the whole gamut

Censored

ok, lets say SJW outrage culture disappeared from the planet overnight, what would be in god hand 2?

underwater, space, etc. They could run through the same settings again and improve a lot.

i always wondered, why does Gene have white hair in concept art, but he has brown hair in-game

That's how the game would look if it was made by most developers circa 2006 though, what's your point?

Nah, not yet because God Of War just released the year before

None of what you said is really GoW though aside from tone differences

I'm talking about OG GoW, everyone ended up copying GoW more than DMC even though GoW is just a more casual DMC (I still enjoy the OG games though).

None of what you said is really God of War (2005 PS2 game) aside from tone differences.

- Low emphasis on lock on
- GoW is fairly fast
- GoW has no lengthy unscripted super moves
- Also has no cooldown abilities
- Juggles are super important and really easy to do

I usually hate really cynical posting but I'm mad about how true this would end up being in practice. Especially the removed tank controls, 30-second cutscene roulettes, and slowed down 5x parts.

Attached: godhand_button.png (65x53, 10K)

Co-op Campaign where you play as two God Hand users.
>Can stumble and knock around your partner like any normal enemy, but you won't deal any damage to them. This includes launching them around.
>Activating your God Hand makes you immune to your partner's attacks, but you can still stumble them. If you both activate at the same time you won't stumble each other.
>Various co-op puzzles requiring interaction with your partner such as launching them across gaps to do stuff.
>Unique tag team roulette moves
>Various normal tag team moves that are context sensitive similar to pummel/spank
>Three skill trees you can spec into throughout the game: God Hand, Devil Hand, and a "neutral" hand tree.
>Each tree has unique moves you can unlock
>Skill unlocks determines game ending based on what you and your partner unlocked
>Ending 1: mostly neutral for both of you. Fight the big bad and win yay
>Ending 2: Both God Hand. Fight the big bad then fight either the BIGGER baddy or shadow clones of both of you at the same time
>Ending 3: Both Devil Hand. Instead of fighting the big bad boss at the end you team up with them and get a horde mode where you have to fight lots of previously good guy units and take over the world or something I dunno.
>Ending 4 (true ending): One player God Hand the other player Devil Hand. Final boss fight is a fight between you and your partner. I don't know what you would do with the winner but this ending would be the coolest.

What games are you playing that have 30 second attacks? The fuckin Naruto Storm games don't even go longer than 20s.

>skill trees
Stopped reading there

>Co-Op Campaign
>No 1v1 PvP mode
Other than that I fucking love the rest of your ideas pre-spoiler text. That would genuinely be really fucking fun and it could work too by having Gene and Azel team up

They wouldn't be stuff like passive or active skills like in other games. Each would just have a unique list of moves you unlock throughout each tree. New game+ runs would carry moves and unlocks over so you could eventually unlock every single move.

emulator has input lag also interlacing gives fake 60fps on tv which I personally prefer over 30fps deinterlaced that the emulator does.

No.
