And Kazooie was the best Super Mario 64 clone.

deconfirmed

their nothing alike past being a 3d platformer. what always annoyed me about mario 64 is how shit the maps are compared to banjo. in banjo you get a huge sprawling world per level that you can continually collect shit in and the notes actually mattered compared to mario cucksdy4's coins doing literally nothing and being limited to collect a star and you bounce out. fuck that gay shit. you also dont have to do any thinking in mario 64, no new moves to learn, the castle is a shit tier layout with little to no platforming inside the actual castle (glitches don't count)

These daily Banjo threads are making me wanna replay the game again. But I already beat it again like, last month. What's your end goal here?

Learn to read, dumbass.

That they know of no new Banjo-Kazooie games fucktard. And why would a company that does not own the B&K license know about any new B&K game?

I don't have the screencap but it started with the tweet "57". People thought this was a teaser for a new B-K game because of the number of letters in the name. Playtonic was quick to declare that they are not working on anything B-K related. Naturally, the Banjo haters, deniers and Stevefags took this as a hard deconfirm when Playtonic admitted to not knowing anything because they dont own the rights. Just another case of Blockheads acting like dumbasses.

I was just asking what the context of the tweet was, you rude faggot

I honestly just can't see a Microsoft rep getting into Smash, let alone Banjo.

I mean yeah it's cool that Nintendo and MS are getting closer but I don't think that automatically gurantees a character for Smash. The problem is, there's never been a character playable in Smash that comes from a western third party. All of the third parties in Smash come from the big name players in Japan (SEGA, Capcom, Bandai Namco, Square-Enix, Konami, and now Atlus) which makes sense, because Sakurai is Japanese, lives in Japan and ergo it's much less of a hassle for him to negiotate with English speaking countries from the other side of the globe.

But honestly even if a MS rep happened, I just can't see it being Banjo. The Banjo-Kazooie IP hasn't had a new installment since 2008 and ultimately it means very little in the grand scheme of things, and I imagine if Nintendo and Sakurai really wanted a Microsoft character, they'd go for Steve or even Master Chief because they're far more important and relevent, just like how Joker got in because he's probably by far Atlus' most popular character right now. Some people say "BUT FAN DEMAND!" but really, if that's what all that mattered, than characters like Geno and Isaac would of been made playable.

I don't know, I'd love for Banjo to be in Smash, but considering our first two known Fighter Pass characters are from Persona and (presumably) Dragon Quest, both massively popular and long running Japanese franchises, I just don't think it paints a good picture for both western franchises and also irrelevant franchises like Banjo. I'd like to be proven wrong though.

I meant "it's much less of a hassle for him to negiotate with Japanese companies in his home country than English speaking countries from the other side of the globe"

I like to think Sakurai might do it, because the stars have aligned to actually make it possible now. I'm pretty he mentioned Banjo and Kazooie being "a natural choice" back when they were making Melee. (Although that obviously didn't work because of the MS buyout)
With the whole "Ultimate/Everyone is here" theme, maybe he'd like the opportunity to add in someone who very well could have been in the game by now, if not for the unfortunate legal circumstances.
Would keep the surprise factor up too. People thought they would never add Ridley cuz "too big", K. Rool cuz "irrelevant" or even Cloud since he never made a proper Nintendo appearance beforehand.
I'll remain hopeful. Aint over till it's over.

They were able to negotiate bringing Cuphead onto the Switch so the language barrier is a moot point. The fan demand point still maintains relevance on Phil Spencer's end though. Nintendo and Microsoft know there is a big demand for Banjo as DLC. I can see Chief or Banjo happening, but not Steve. Chief and Banjo fit perfectly, whereas Steve is the absolute antithesis of working as a fighter from both an aesthetic and design perspective. I have no doubt that Phil's got our backs. He's been pretty passionate about the duo and I doubt he'll drop this opportunity.

>They were able to negotiate bringing Cuphead onto the Switch so the language barrier is a moot point.

Sakurai didn't do that, though

On the topic of dlc...
Joker fucking WHENNNNN
The six month wait for Mewtwo after Sm4sh's release didn't feel nearly this painful. I just want some new content already. Beat classic with everyone and got every single spirit.

I obviously don't know how the process completely works. But doesn't Sakurai just ask the company if they can use the contents of (game) to make a character/stage?
After I'd imagine the smash team would play through the game, take note of all the music, characters, and locations they'd like to use, make a list, then send it back to the parent company for a yes/no confirmation?
I could absolutely be underestimating how much back and forth it takes between the two. But Phil has said he's very willing to cooperate on the subject.
Is the language barrier a huge issue when they probably have translators or english speakers on the smash team? They obviously had to do it to some degree with the existing western IPs in the game, like Shovel Knight.

They're in.
But most importantly she's in
