x3 speed is a very good edition for some parts of the game. Makes traveling in the overworld before you get the Highwind less of a pain.

the games are literally piss easy and it isn't like the gameplay is good. so yeah when I played X again I just used the 4x speed cheat and 9999 damage cheat because I realized there was no point to not. Why was I wasting my time playing the tedious game when I only wanted the story?

You already know the story why even bother replaying a game if you already know the story and don't enjoy the gameplay? You sound like either a casual in denial or a retarded masochist

For 7 some of these features might be dumb but only because 7 has a much more playable battle speed. Some of the cheats might be too much but FFIX is just improved by a battle speed increase, even if it looks like it's playing in fast forward.

I guess I could understand some people wanting to play through 7 with no encounters as well, but the full limit break / max HP thing seems dumb. Game is already insanely easy.

Speed and turning off random battles I can understand given how fucking slow things can be (especially 9) and you'll still need to beat bosses one way or the other so turning off the battles doesn't really trivialise the game (Bravely Default had it too, worked well). But the other shit is nonsense, why even play at that point.

That version of IX is shit. Those updated models and mobile UI look like trash. The port of VII is fine.

I use the 'assist' "cheat"(not even a cheat, you can do it one PS1 too) just so I can see if Im missing some kind of hidden door or something when exploring wide open areas

which is a serious flaw I see in the game, you can never tell if youre missing something or not in wide open areas but usually its just empty
