No not really, but with every BR game it sort of builds on top of the last "king of the genera" with more quality of life features that become a staple.
It's similar to character action games in that sense.
The pinging system, as well as the overall speed, shortening of the stand and walk around silent time that usually plagues battle royal games make it a better experience than their competitors.
It's just a striking while the iron's hot with already pretty good game sense with Respawn behind the helm and ironing out the kinks.
I still don't really find myself attached to BR games that much but it's not hard to say that Apex is top dog in the gameplay department for these kind of games.
But that's just my two sense.

Apex Legends put the final nail on the coffin for that series.

the point is that the team behind Apex Legends isnt competent enough to keep the game alive or add anything new to keep people interested
the game has no original ideas, its infested with cheaters, and any new idea (like the battle pass) isn't good

the franchise has a lot more attention and fans now thanks to apex. titanfall 2 player numbers got pumped back up thanks to it

The battle pass is shit I agree, but I the entire game is like 4 months early hot off the oven.
Pretty good but you can't see your face in it just yet, I think the battle pass is another casualty of this.
Keep in mind, this entire thing popped out instantly as impact compression shoes from the building jump that was Anthem.
We'll see what the game itself has to offer in the future, I think at the very least it'll be able to keep people interested for half a year or more with whatever updates they put out.
I think the most we'll see in gameplay changes will just be new characters of TF2 mechanics.
I agree with you though, I don't know how much deeper they think they can dig with ideas.

The fact they want you to play 1000 hours to max out the battle pass is fucking laughable. Logged in, bought the pass, played 1 game, won, got 8500 points for it and realized it takes literally more than a normal level to level the battle pass once, you can play for over an hour and not get a single level on it. Meanwhile I can log in on COD, play one match, come in the top 3, and unlock a level a day.

yes a f2p game will naturally have more cheaters than a premium priced game. arguing that that's a fault of the game is dishonest

Man, the only good thing about TitanFall was the goddamn ground combat. The mechs were shit and even though you're evenly matched with someone you get raped every time. Meanwhile ground battle didn't matter even if you slaughtered the other team's pilots. Fuck that game.

I just googled the term, and it turns out that it was originally used to refer to bad Unity games made from Unity store assets. I was going to accept it and leave it at that but then I saw that the term was invented by that fat faggot Jim Sterling. I think I'll side with Yea Forums's usage over Jim Sterling's.

Plus, I don't see a huge difference between recycling assets and buying them. Neither is technically illegal or immoral, but in both cases the end user sees what you're doing and it comes off as a lazy cost-cutting measure. It was lazy when Activision reused Call of Duty assets year after year. It was lazy when Konami copy-pasted MGSV into MG: Survive. It's lazy when EA blatantly re-releases Madden/FIFA every August/September. And it's lazy now that people like the twitter checkmark in the OP can add a PUBG circle to Titanfall, add seven mediocre character models, and call it a new game.

I mean, are they wrong though? apex is kinda fun, but the fun about it is in spite of the work done on the game itself. It's fun because it's the framework of titanfall, including the speed, then stripped down to be much slower and tactical. Which is interesting in a lot of ways, but terrible in a lot more.

Because of these changes, obviously done by incompetent interns probably told to try and make a game to keep respawn from getting shut down so EA could absorb the IPs entirely, the game crashes every hour or so, at least, for an overwhelming majority of players. I don't get crashes on PC, but I get tons of them on ps4. I know a lot of my friends crash every 4th or 5th game on pc, too. It's obviously an issue.

It's not really a smart idea to brag about your game when it was literally on the footing to give fortnite a proper body blow and knock it down a peg, instead of doing that, they didn't update while fortnite got a new season, gave out a FREE battle pass, added new guns, new equipment, and tons of new map areas. While apex added... One gun. And a new character, now.
