You could do things with them LEGO couldn't offer. Each had it's pros/cons. I used both to create a vast world along with Coinstruction when I was a kid. Used to get in trouble constantly because I never cleaned up my room with these things everywhere. I kept them where they were the night before so I could pick up where I left off. So much fun. I should have kept a diary of what story I came up with.

But what if I liked them all? I got ten dollars a month for doing chores so every month for six months I would buy one Toa and their corresponding Turaga. Also got several of the happy meal manlets but didn't complete the set and never got any of the Rahi.
Admittedly I got Tahu first but I didn't watch power rangers or really care for red, I just liked his mask the best. I was really into knights as a kid and I think his mask looked the most like a helmet to child me.

My brother built a two foot tall dragon one time. He also built this insanely articulated guy with pectoral joints, an abdomen joint, a waist swivel, elbows and knees that got the same range as a real person, and an elaborate yet elegant support system for the legs that kept it from buckling under its weight without sacrificing articulation. And it was all pretty proportionally correct too. I wish he had taken pictures cause that thing was seriously astounding, probably could have easily won a Lego magazine contest.
My brother is a brilliant fucker with a mind for that technical stuff, he builds the wildest fucking shit in space engineers too. I wish he'd go into engineering or something instead of just working a shitty job and smoking weed.
