Is it forgotten already?

is it forgotten already?

What's this? Gachashit?

Literally who?

I think I'd like to play these games but they never go on sale for less than thirty dollars. Should I just pirate?

How is it? I've never played an Atelier game before.

>Every single one of these games is called "Atelier"
>None of them are about running an actual shop

Recettear spoiled me. Fucking Japs capture lightning in a bottle and refuse to try again.

You will probably enjoy Kamidori Alchemist Meister, if you haven't already.

I haven't opened my copy yet. Too busy playing DOA6 and trying to play Lydie & Suelle.

I am just starting it now actually

Good, it looked like a cheap cash grab even by the series' standards.

Start with Rorona DX if you're curious. Lulua is the upcoming one that's worth half a fuck but it's also the 4th Arland game, of which Rorona is the first.

The Mysterious games unironically killed Atelier for me, unless people say Nelke is amazing I probably won't play it.

I can understand disliking Sophie but the sequels were good.

I'm playing Totori and the relative freedom compared to Rorona is kinda disorienting, I feel like I'm breezing through the ranks, got Silver in mid-December of the first year. Since there don't seem to be any intermediate time limits, I hope my improvisation doesn't screw me over later down the line.

Why does no one know this game

I've always been somewhat interested in this series, but the cutesy animal girl stuff is also kind of offputting. is there one in the series (preferably on the switch) that's got the best combat/mechanics and is a must play? Honestly just off of footage I've seen of this one and the previous it doesn't look very good.

Because you play as a 2D (albeit cute) grill (or some grills) and you know how crazy the gaming community is about that!!!

Best Atelier on Switch is Rorona DX. But if you don't like cutesy anime girls you won't like the series.

>cute animal girl stuff
You seem to be confused? There are no animal girls, just regular ones. As for one on Switch, I suggest Atelier Rorona DX.

because they are literally all just reskins of the same game and they release like 2 a year and hardly ever improve on each other

they are shit

Nelke has one of the cutest designs of all the Ateliers and it doesn't draw any attention.

I'll acknowledge that they were massive improvements over Sophie, but that's all I can do I'm afraid.

Why does everyone hate Sophie so much?

I didn't play any Mysterious games until Lydie & Suelle.

Muh timelimits

They were also better than either Dusk sequel.

It's not bad, but it is definitely one of the weakest in the series (along with Shallie).

Nah. Eschatology at least had a good op.

Escha & Logy is the most boring game in the series.

Only Arlandfags hated Sophie. They're jealous her game is the #1 atelier game too in terms of sales.

Implying that Shallie doesn't have the best OP in the series.

Poor attempt at elitism. "My low budget chinese cartoon game for autists is better than your low budget chinese cartoon game for autists". I just can't take those people serious when Shallie created the trend before Mysterious.

Sophie was pretty boring. It's ultimate slice-of-life experience where you don't have any missions and can do whatever you want. It's pretty relaxing experience for the first 10-20 hours, but then it becomes too monotonous.
Firis would be great if not for stupid alchemy grind that completely ruins the experience.
But S&L is a fucking great and for me it's definitely in top 3 of modern Atelier games (after Rorona and Ayesha).

That goes to Ayesha but even that doesn't compare to EXA_PICO ops.

Sophe is unironically the Fates/Awakening of the Atelier franchise. It played the least like the others but managed to revitalize the franchise and garner a large fanbase.

I like how all of us "supposedly" like Shallie. Did you forget that Shallie was so bad, Gust literally had to apologize for it.

Firis alchemy grind was only bad if you were trying to 100% the game.

>all these people who came out of the woods to shit on Sophie but don't show up to support Nelke
The fuck?

this. I loved the first half of that game.

Waiting for Fitgirl repack.

Success breeds jealousy. They can't stand the fact that Sophie sold the most for an Atelier game by not having a time limit.

>he doesn't try to 100% all the games

Once you get the license, don't stop. You're only halfway through the game. Start gathering wood.

I loved the entire thing.

I did 100% Firis, actually. I didn't find it that grindy. It actually took me less time to plat than Sophie or Lydie.

>tfw wood is probably one of the most difficult things to get
>tfw limited space because don't got good enough storage
