Sekiro Help Thread : Rice Waifu Edition

Sekiro help thread. Ask away and someone will answer.

Who would unironically choose to work for kuro after meeting rice Waifu.

Stuck at ashina castle genichero or whatever his name is kicking my ass, I barely got to his final phase, how to make his first two more manageable

You should know his patterns, so just deflect and attack without leaving him much room so he can't recover.

Learn his combos and stay on his ass. Use firecrackers to interrupt him and get some free chip damage so you can maintain posture. If he goes for the bow jump 3 attack t is better to block them than tank the damage. Really, it is just about memorization.

Apparently another user has taken over these threads so i'm deleting this one.

wat does rice do?

Stuck on a Sword Saint. I'll take a break on try again tomorrow I guess. It seems like kind of fight you just need to get good

It’s that unblockable he does after jumping that keeps getting me I keep thinking about jumping out the way but I should deflect it

Counter the stab and jump off his head when he sweeps

First phase it's a thrust, should be easy to counter. Just be careful not to put too much input since you can't counter thrusts if you have some sort of movement input. Second phase it's usually a sweep but keep in mind to do it early enough and make a neutral jump

>don't like circle to sprint
>decide to rebind my controls
>can't get used to it
>change them back
>can't get used to that either
>no idea what the fuck I'm doing
Brains are stupid cunts. Should I just change them back or stick with it? I changed crouch to circle, grappling hook to L3 and sprint/dodge to L2

Trying to get the final ingredients for the last tier Shuriken. What the hell is the blue stuff and where can I get it?

Thanks guys

Lazulite, you can get it for splendid feed from the giant carp

Lapis is found at fountainhead from doing certain quests I believe, also there's a Shichimen there that drops one. You also get 1 lapis from doing the carp guy's quest in Hirata estate and unlock the ability to buy 2 more.

git gud

This always happens to me. My advice is just deal with it. All you're gonna do is gimp yourself later.

Murder the Demon of Hatred

I've literally never had this problem and play with 99% default controls in every game.

>Seven Achina Spears - Shikibu Toshikatsu Yamauchi fell off the cliff just as I was about to land the second deathblow
>Got a spirit emblem for killing him, but I not a prayer bead
Did I get fucked out of an upgrade material?

Just rang a weird bell and it tells me i'm burdened is it worth it?

>people ITT that still think Parry is timing based
Just spam it lol

How. Nigga I cant even see what you are doing in the grass

Attached: literallyimpossible.jpg (1920x1080, 296K)

I've beaten the Blazing Bull.
Should I keep doing Asahina Castle or go to Hirata Estate?

Thanks a lot lads

yeah that annoyed me too
90% of Isshin's difficulty comes from not being able to see shit from the grass

check offering box

Wait, the old thread didn't hit bump limit, why did you make this OP?

Because nobody realized it wasn't just a shota thread (not the good, /ss/ kind) until it was too late

Took me a while user, gotta stay on his ass and be aggressive. Don't let him jump in the air and get those bow attacks off cause they're a bitch to parry unless you're good, or just have the umbrella.

Mikiri counter also helps. Watch out though in the second phase, once he does the jumping strike, he switches it up and sometimes does a sweep instead of a thrust, so you gotta watch his animation to counter it properly.

Attached: sekiro.exe 2019.03.25 - 23.29.13.58.DVR.webm (960x540, 2.94M)

While the skill that destroys posture while restoring yours is great, I wish there was another skill you could get that restores your posture as you attack.

If you haven't been to Hirata Estate yet then I'd say to give it a try. At your current level you may have difficulty dealing with some of the enemies in Ashina Castle.

To add on, it helps to dodge to your right on the jump so you can see a sweep coming as early as possible. You can even correct a bad mikiri into a jump if you're quick enough.

Or just perfect deflect his jump if you can do that I guess, but it's really hard to see what's next from that angle.

Rice waif left, am I supposed to go searching the world for her or will this be resolved in cutscenes

Hirata. Arguably you should've gone there before beating bull since you get super useful tools for Ogre/Bull there

go back to folding monkey zone

also the fact that he does a random number of follow up attacks, actually stupid

she's gone where you 'fight' the monkeys, look for her there to progress story

Just beat Genichiro, where do I head to now anons?

I got the snake hearts just from exploring, does the game make it obvious when I need them or is it obscure optional shit I could miss

>but it's really hard to see what's next from that angle.
I think the opposite although its still a safe move to avoid if you don't want to risk getting rid of his posture. If you pay attention you'll see him look directly upwards when he's going to thrust and this alone is a pretty good way to tell what he's doing I found. If he turns his head on the way up then that's a guaranteed sweep.

Exhaust Kuro and Emma’s dialogue. You will probably have to talk to them several times and leave and comeback, no idea why the game does this instead of giving you the info up front.

Okay so wtf do you do against demon of hatred's unblockable attack where he drags his arm through the ground with a disgusting bad hitbox all around him? Fuck this shitty boss.

it's obscure optional shit you can miss. But make note of the descriptions and spend time with an NPC you think might be interested in them

WHAT IS THIS SPEAR AND REVOLVER PHASE?! WHAT THE FUCK AM I EVEN PLAYING ANYMORE THIS ISNT GOD OF WAR AAAAAAAAAAAAH

It's kinda obscure. If you didn't talk to the head monk dude at the temple you gotta dive into the pond at the temple grounds to get a scroll to give to rice waifu.
Then you have to get rice waifu to give you rice until she gets sick and then it should become obvious.

Does it matter who I feed Sake to? Or is it just conversational flavour for the NPCs?

That doesn't really say much user. A lot of his attacks involve that.
If you mean the combo that has a stomp attack, just use the flame umbrella or run around him.
If you mean the one where he does the long charge, just jump like the game taught you to in the first hour to avoid sweep attacks

Ninjasamurai man looks pretty cool with this sword.

Attached: 20190324165307_1.jpg (2560x1440, 760K)

I love the fact he just breaks out a fucking gun for no reason. Not even a period single shot gun no a fucking semi automatic BLATBLATBLAT gun
pure lore/flavour

FPS unlock mod is really good guys, no physics broken or anything and I can push minimum 90 and sometimes up to 144 with a stock gtx 1080.
Also does anyone know where to find persimmon? I fed the divine child the one I had but I don't know where to find more

Attached: HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.jpg (2560x1440, 161K)

Oh, forgot to add this is at 1440p. Could do much better at 1080p

I know there's at least one shop with 2 in stock but IDK which/where
you should only need one to advance her quest I think?
does the unlocked FPS improve controls/deflecting at all?

what is the whistling you hear when headless is around or youre fighting the shaman who inflicts terror?

*MENACING*

Well I still have the option to feed her persimmon after the first one so even if it's just lore I'd like to do so. I'll look around for it.
And more FPS would really only improve your gameplay as much as you allow it to. It definitely feels a bit better, though the stable 60fps is certainly not bad in comparison.

What if I use DSR supersampling?

so I just got the mortal blade and killed these fucked up centipede things, is the bloodborne esque twist these infected grotesque things?

I have no idea how that works, sorry.

it's not really a twist. The centipede bug things are just a manmade attempt at immortality.

Renders the game at double resolution then downsamples it to 1080p

HOW THE FUCK DO I BEAT SNAKE EYES?
I TRIED 50 TIMES ALREADY

Attached: 1547753106209.gif (387x301, 715K)

Well I'd assume that it would be more difficult on your GPU, but the only way to actually know is to try it. The mod is just an exe that you have to open when you play the game so it's very simple
Get in her face, her moveset is so small you should be able to parry everything she does. Dash backwards when she grabs, and you're golden

So I've been doing this for a bit now, but If I die too early in a boss fight, I'll resurrect, quit the game, reload, and then go and rest, to get back the revive, and avoid the penalty of dying.
This is full proof right? I dont believe I've noticed any repercussions of doing this.

m8 in melee she has like only 3 attacks, a quick one, a delayed one and the grab. Just focus on parrying.

shot is actually a grapple
dodge

Why is the headless so fucking annoying to fight?
That slow fog sucks so much, and im struggling to not die from terror

Attached: 1548143873970.png (409x544, 311K)

Literally the easiest mini-boss in the game. You're meant to fight them after you can buy confetti

I hid in the little carriage and stabbed the snake in the eye. Ran and made it with a scrap of health. I'm sure I missed a lot down there but I had to leave sharpish

The rush I get when killing these bosses is something else boys. This game is sick

In order of how pumped I was

Ogre, horse general, shinobi hunter, drunkard,

So pumped. When I kill this bull it's going to feel like cumming

He needs the Dragonslayer

How long does the Confetti last?

I decided to cheese the Shichimen Warrior with Confetti+Mid-Air Deathblow, and it seemed to wear off instantly after the first deathblow, so I had to beat him normally in second phase. Does it cancel if you do a Deathblow?

I'm just curious cos if it only lasts a minute then I don't know why the fuck it's so rare.

I am wondering if this game isn't actually bugged, because I'm literally 10 hours in and cannot consistently deflect at all. I get fucking rekt by any enemy that isn't a basic mook, full stop. I have never, not a single time, broken a miniboss's posture. And I have permadeath beaten every Souls game.

So I start googling and it looks like people are saying some have had issues with HDR/framerates, i.e. for some reason if HDR is on some people on pc have impossible deflects, or on ps4 TV latency issues. I looked up let's plays and it just seems way easier for other people than me, I can't even break fucking miniboss posture no matter what I try. It will be funny if it turns out the game isn't actually that hard and a lot of people just unironically have bugged games.

Attached: bugged game.png (600x507, 162K)

I think the monkey enemies drop persimmons, pretty sure I got one from them

>slowing haze
>parry attack
>terror
>block
>terror
>terror buildup maxes out
>instant death

Attached: lucielle.gif (500x289, 482K)

Okay, I got the game paused right now. I'm really fucking upset. Why isn't lightning deflect working? You take a lightning slash while airborne and just press R1, right? It isn't working.

I'm on Isshin's final phase

motherfucker, i beat her easily
thanks for the tip

Buy confetti
Get purple gourd/pacifying powder
Deflect his slow ass with confetti sword
When he does spinny attack and teleport, walk a bit forward and turn around and whale on him so he can't grab-ass you

WHAT DO I DO AGAINST ISSHINS FAGGOT FUCKING LIGHTNING

>I'm sure I missed a lot down there
no, just a bush of snap peas.

Also ogre/horse/bull are easier if you did hirata first
I heard some people bitching about input lag and while I felt like I had some, it went away when I got gud. So I think it's just a matter of getting gud and getting into the games rythmn. You can't frame cancel from a parry into a dodge or vice versa, at best you can jump

Awesome!
Time to activate bell demon and perform the grand monkey genocide in Bodhisattva valley
Read the scroll on the floor below.

>why the fuck it's so rare.
At a certain point you can literally buy infinite amounts of it

it seems to bug out sometimes probably due to how uneven the terrain is there

jump and hit R1 like user in above quote is trying to do

Oh whoops, I thought you meant Genichiro. But the same should apply, should it not?

Use anti-terror drugs
Use confetti and parry so you don't take terror damage
You jenkem huffer

IMPOSSIBLE DONT YOU ME

Dab on her with Ichimonji

youtu.be/P9xKlR5ZPSo?t=1444

My question is does that pump and feeling of satisfaction keep getting greater the further you get?

jump and hit R1, because you aren't grounded you will reflect the lightning back and inflict a chunk of damage and stun them

I had issues with Genichiro's third phase and didn't really understand the reversal until Fountainhead. You have to time it properly and only jump as the attack is coming in. That way you'll have enough time to do the reversal before you hit the ground.

Use the skill thats called sword or fang or whatever in the prosthetic skill line. Pair that with the axe and apply liberally

Just saw a vaati video about it. You unlocked the secret difficulty. The game is gonna be harder now. The regular enemies are about the same but the bosses are gonna be harder.

Is there literally any point to this area whatsoever apart from there being a merchant?

Attached: sekiro 2019-03-27 00-36-01-276.jpg (1920x1080, 921K)

You’re playing on hard mode now. You should have an item in your inventory that will undo the effect though.

eavesdrop on the bridge to the left of this area

Honestly more than any Fromsoft game do you get that feeling of satisfaction. The game expects you to master its mechanics and almost every boss feels completely impossible at first but then reinforces some aspect of the mechanics in your mind and you really just feel like you've grown as a player and mastered the encounter. So often does something in your brain just click into place and what seemed impossible even one fight ago suddenly becomes something you know you are about to win.

user in previous thread convinced me. Made a new game with both the debuffs instead of NG+ with the debuffs. This way is definitely way more challenging

Attached: a.png (1280x720, 1.39M)

DONT YOU ME WITH SHIT

EPIC I JUST GET HIT WITH A SPEAR

Attached: 1522940323058.jpg (2560x1440, 172K)

Long arm centipede giraffe I dont even want to learn, just tell me how to beat him fuck these enemy types

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Make sure your TV is in game mode, also you need to be deliberate in your deflects, sorta take it kinda slow and think it through instead of just panic mashing if that makes sense. TV lag can definitely be a killer in this game though so make sure you've done everything possible to reduce it.
Game would be literally impossible if it had a release on Google Stadia.

Can I play the game ignoring the dragonrot mechanic? I understand how it works, but I just wanna play the game not have to worry about going back to NPCs every now and then.

He has the same 4 hit combo, sometimes followed up by a sweep you can jump over.

Parry all 4 in quick succession, then jump over the sweep, jump again to hit him. Posture will take a huge hit.

Attached: 814380_20190324160458_1.jpg (1920x1080, 1.01M)

Parry, jump on his head on swipe, you win. Easiest minibosses in the game.

Dont bother with confetti, just get the umbrella, and upgrade it to the anti-ghost umbrella. press and hold R2, wait until his three hits stop as you completely turtle him, and then press R1 to do massive damage. When he teleports just walk away from his grab while keeping the umbrella shield up and repeat until it dies.

OP, I need help.

Is Sekiro worth picking up?

I was looking forward to playing Outward today, but when I actually got the game the combat was so clunky, and world so empty, that I couldn't bring myself to justify paying $40 for it. So I ended up getting a refund. I'm looking for an immersive RPG game with good and responsive combat. Furi being an example of what I'd like to play. Other games that have come out recently that I've had my eye on include: Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest Echoes, and Elex. I'm too fucking indecisive to figure out what to pick up and try.

Here is the pattern:
1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4 5, 6
Jump over grab
And you're done.

It's good, but not $60 good. Just pirate it.

hes just a boss that you parry over and over that should be abundantly clear by him never giving you any time to breathe

>Can I play the game ignoring the dragonrot mechanic?

Sure, just all your NPCs will die and you'll be locked into a shit ending.

>big money kicked my ass a good few times
>get to big monkey and monkey gf
>best it first try
Did I do good bros?

>all bosses is last trophy
yikes, should've gotten that on your second playthrough

????????????????

Is this the best farming route? I'm trying to stock up on points before ng+

Attached: 03-27.webm (1280x720, 2.92M)

pretty much none of the games you listed are immersive or rpgs

sekiro isn't an rpg

keyboard and mouse or controller?

Are any of the games I listed $60 good? Elex is on sale for half off at $20, which is part of the reason I listed it.

It's not immersive. The combat is the star here.

Elex is a great game really had me immersed for weeks

If you like Furi you'll love this game. I fucking hated Furi but i still kind of like this game. At least until i got to the fucking monkey. I literally cannot beat this fucker or O'rin after 10 hours. I think i got fucking gated.

Controller tbqhf

I prefer the route from Ashina Outskirts - Stairwell, moving back towards Ashina Castle. The red soldiers are worth more, and there are more of them, and 90% of them are backstab killable. The route also ends at the Underbridge Idol statue, so you can travel back to the start easily.

Sekiro isnt really an RPG, you gain skills and abilities and can upgrade your items, but stat upgrades are more like zelda pieces of heart than anything. The game is all about mastering the combat system which is based around timing blocks to deflect attacks and responding properly in different ways to different types of unblockable attacks. Its very satisfying but its really about mastering the combat system to overcome difficult encounters.

just make use of your extra revives. use the item that recharges your health fully, attack when ako sugars are in place, and in the first phase stick to his ass as much as possible. this will enable you to keep your gourd charges for the 2nd phase. the 2nd phase can be deflected but it's still best to just hit and run and whittle his vitality down.

>world is empty
But it's actually filled with NPCs.

Spam parry, then double jump when you see red moon runes

Deflecting in the second phase opens up huge opportunities to hit him. Keep deflecting and he'll eventually do repeated overhead slams with the sword, and if you deflect those he'll get knocked down.

Thanks lads, was easy

When he does lightning, user. For the rest treat it like phase 2.

Later in the game if you defeat headless monkey boss near poison pools and then return to that room and defeat the purple balls guy you get an upgrade for the whistle that allows you to stun apparition type enemies

Attached: r0isn4brd4621.jpg (934x1210, 227K)

What's this ayy lmao shit? Must every From game have aliens?

Do they get explained in the story or something?

Attached: 814380_20190327004742_1.png (1920x1080, 2.54M)

I'll try that, it feels slow to mow them all down. Where does lazulite drop anyway?

>Sneak on an enemy
>Kill him
>Absolutely everyone around hears it
What am I doing wrong?

I just beat the first phase with no healing (except for the one use items) and almost beat the second one on my first try by spamming parry and running around. Fuck this shit.

They're not aliens, they just drank the water

Is he wearing a tophat?

>Do they get explained in the story or something?
Yes, sort of. Fountainhead.

He's a caterpillar flute man.

guys, i finnaly defeated that fucking lady butterfly, i guess i passed the casual filter of the game

They're the nobles who attained a cursed divinity like the centipede monks afaik.

>hears
You mean sees. Killing an enemy puts you in a stand up stance which enemies will spot easily. Enemies won't hear stealth kills unless they're extremely close

FWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Second phase of monkey is actually easier than the first because he's parry food. When he does his searching attack, that's a good time to position yourself to parry the third attack. A lot of the time he will do a HUGE dropping attack and when you deflect that he'll fall over, allowing you to hit him 6 times. Just be wary of the scream

I'll probably try Elex than first than, thanks user.

>If you like Furi you'll love this game. I fucking hated Furi but i still kind of like this game
I found Furi to be hard at first, but once you get used to the combat there's something reeaally satisfying about dodging everything while wrecking the opposing boss. To be honest though, I always just got up to the 7th boss because I didn't want to kill her and liked the secret ending too much.

Nothing, the idea with stealth is you pick off the most threatening or anoying targets as fast as possible before everyone sees you then you fight them. Or you could just run away to reset aggro.

Any of you guys beat final form limiters unleashed Owl (Father) yet?

Is he..... roberto!?

> "sneak"
> PSHHHH
> AAAARGH UUUUGH
> FFSHHHH

She keeps saying the rice isn't ready. Do I have to keep fast travelling/resting to trigger? I already gave her the tome.

I thought she was the casual filter when I first fought her too. The game gets so much harder than that it's unbelievable.

Carp actually, i believe. I think they're fish men?

>pot noble 1 is acting pretty suspicious about his bait
>pot noble 2 tells be the second one wants to kill the carp
>but is also suspicious about his bait
They're both liars, aren't they?

i thought you faggots were joking when you said to mash L1 to beat the centipede guy but it actually worked

What? No. Robert was a little kid who died.

There's a second pot noble?? Where's he at

Yeah, my favorite fight in the game, but I really wish he had three health bars.

Laughed my ass off, it’s a straight up gat.
NIGGA CAME STRAPPED WITH THE HEATER BRRTATATAT

If you have rice or a rice ball then eat it and rest.

I still don't understand exactly what this immortality curse is. At one point I thought the waters were simply infested with those centipedes and that it was the centipedes that were controling their bodies therefore they became "immortal", but the more I play the more confused I get.

Fountainhead palace

Where the hell do I go after I killed Giraffe guy? the door in his room is locked?

Fountainhead, from the front door of that brown building with all the dead guys in it turn left towards the little waterfall stream thing and slightly in the distance there is a cave on the cliffside you can grapple to.

‘This is very japanese’ the audio cue
YOOOOOOOOOO would have been too on the nose

Near the end game the Interior Ministry invade the castle by repairing the bridge and busting through that area, you’ve gotta fight your way through Ashina Outskirts in reverse starting from there.

Fountainhead Palace. You can reach him by grappling the roof of the house where the idol is after the great carp tunnel and going to the right

Thanks I'll talk to him. Big carp is already dead though lol

Consecutive parry is one of the first things the game teaches you. There's a training demo on it and everything

>long arm centipede giraffe
what the fuck is that name and how do i beat it

I don't recall reading about the hows and whys, but I suppose the divinity flows from the dragon and gets muddied along the way, contrary to the pure blood that flows in Kuro

No you ddint. It gets so much fucking harder. I thought i finally understood the combat and parry timings after her but i was wrong.
I know. I just cannot execute parries, dodges, or literally anything required consistently to progress past this point I end up spamming parry and eventually dying by fucking up everything. And i know it just gets harder form here on out.

>haha unlbockable attacks!
God fuck this final boss and fuck miyazaki

See

Literally control-F you fucking faggot.

which one?

I never noticed the second 'f' so I wasn't thinking his name was weird until everyone started pointing it out

That actually sounds really fun, I'll probably buy it after I've scratched my RPG itch than.

It seemed fairly empty to me for a $40 game. I'd pay maaaybe $30 for it, but if both the environment and gameplay couldn't keep me engaged I couldn't justify paying for the game.

Spam L1
It's a mistranslation of Kirin

So I can't get to Ashina Outskirts after clearing the game, right? It's just locked now?

wow i didnt know sprinting was a thing till now.

I loved this fight. That said, 2nd phase is a bitch since there's no lightning to rape him with.

You need to beat the boss of Ashina castle. Game opens up a fair amount at that point and you decided to go the one path locked behind the Ashina Castle boss.

Guardian Ape phase 2 seemed to somehow be impervious to L1 spam. I couldn't beat it that way either. I had to play it extremely safe and use the stab/run away Souls boss strategy.

I've been able to get by that way up until the final boss, which I haven't fought yet, but which apparently can't be parry-cheesed that way either. I'll soon see.

Finally fought the Corrupted Monk everyone was talking about

Uhhh was that it? Because it was a pretty straightforward fight and I never had any issues with any hitboxes or anything.

They have barely any health and lowered aggression, but yeah first try is always good so good work.

Afaik yes because you need the sculptures to pass the bull area gate which gets locked

I can't find Isshin, I killed Genichiro, is that not the boss?

No, its not locked, and there is a big surprise there you wont want to miss.
The key is to look around the edge of Ashina Castle until you see a kite, and grapple to that kite from the rooftops.

Oh wait a sec. I thought the curse divinity was immortatlity but these guys can all be killed without the mortal sword.

Its stab hit me multiple times when I was clearly feet out of the way from it. But that's one of the few instances where the hitboxes have been as bad as those Dark Souls 1/2 webms you see floating around.

Round 2 later

His spear is literally impossible

There are multiple ways to become "immortal". The Divine Heir's got the pure stuff, and he's one of a kind, literally unable to even bleed by normal means. Wolf and Genichiro have a lesser version of it, by virtue of association with Kuro, which spreads Dragonrot as karmic balance for their deaths.

The monks of Mt. Tengou did a bunch of heretical research and figured out the bugs, and are called "Infested".

The nobles of the Fountainhead have been drinking diluted dragon juice that trickles down from the Divine Dragon of the West, and it's warped their form over the eternity.

Is Snake Eyes Shirahagi a good waifu because I just FUCKED her
Get cheesed with the poison swamp you bazooka-toting bitch

That wasnt the corrupted monk fight everybody meant probably.

I think they're just ageless, the old lady talks about them wanting to suck your vitality

>stupidly expect it’s just gonna be the first fight again in a different arena
>Mfw that fucking dash speed as he zigzags up into my dickhole then calls me a worthless faggot after oneshotting me
There’s no way he actually died in the real storyline, he was sandbagging HARD

Right the fountain waters extend your life but corrupt you physically and mentally.

Follow the pink smoke on the roof, isshin is very close

Round 2 is literally a meme. Someone post the webm where he deathblows the first two bars in 10 seconds.

(spoiler)That isnt the only one(spoiler)

Pretty easy for me. Took me two tries with the demon bell on.

Snake Eyes on the ridge you can run past, and Snake Eyes in the swamp can at least be backstabbed once. I couldn't get her stuck in the poison though, and instead cheesed her with oil + flame vent spam. She'd be a lot fairer if her posture didn't recover instantaneously.

he's in his room in one of the towers nearby. unless you missed some random npc a few hours back, then you have to go find that npc and talk to him and then isshin will be in his room

Isshin is in the castle, he's like 5 seconds away from the Genichiro fight, just look at the smoke signals on the roofs to find the exterior way to get into his room, if you cant figure that out than go down the stairs from the dojo idol and go down the hall where those two guys in blue robes are standing near a window and there is a breakable paper wall that also leads to him.

How the fuck do i do this correctly? I'm new

Wait, can I use the kite to get there? I just used it to get behind on the bridge towards the great serpent shrine

You can even deathblow the first form if you grapple up to the second tree branch on the right before she lands. Form 3 can be cheesed with firecrackers.

I'm retarded. Thought I gave it away but I still had it. Thanks.

>unless you missed some random npc a few hours back, then you have to go find that npc and talk to him and then isshin will be in his room

I was having so much fun I forgot this was a Fromsoft game.

Enjoy trying to piss this out

I'm stuck on the Blazing Bull, sometimes he does a very fast headbutt when struck during his horns in the ground turn that fucks me over.

What other bosses and minibosses can I kill first and then come back to this guy? I've already done Hirata estate to completion

Bros...

Did this user not have ears? You constantly hear the monkey behind you

Oh, that's what I mean, I thought he meant round 2 as in the true monk. I just nuked the first and second bar immediately, I'm pretty sure you're only supposed to fight the centipede part.

That is Ashina outskirts, you cant get to the VERY FIRST area of Ashina outskirts though because its blocked off and leads to the secret boss instead. But if you havent fought the secret boss yet make sure you backtrack through ashina outskirts to where you fought the first miniboss, if you have and are trying to get somewhere else, then you're probably out of luck. Everything between where the first miniboss was and the shrine is blocked off, as is the serpent's pass. But there isnt anything missable in these areas.

epic for the win bro.
Cant even see half his attacks because his spear clips through the ground

Divine lineage. Last descendant of the dragon bloodline

Genichiro doesn't have the same gift of Dragon Blood that Wolf has. He WANTS that power from Kuro and the entire conflict of the game is him trying to get Kuro to give it to him.

Genichiro is using the same centipedes-juiced-with-water-from-the-fountainhead-which-flows-through-the-roots-of-the-dragon pseudo-immortality that everyone else has, only instead of one he's eaten a shitload of centipedes and is super juiced.

I thought this guy was really tough at first as well, but the trick is to just keep running. I didn't try to break his posture until I had his stamina all the way down from chasing him and slashing his ass. Using the firecracker also lets you get in a bunch of hits. Whenever he gets stuck in a corner, let him get out a bit and keep running around his side.

Clunky is a buzzword for people who cant into deliberate combat. The idea is you commit to your actions and thus every button press needs to be carefully considered rather than the western mashfest arkham combat.

>Your greatest Ally betrays you in the final boss battle
Et tu, tall grass?
>Spear in the face

www

Well that raises the question. What is the dragon bloodline? Didn't it all start with a curse from the dragon? Someone must have gotten it directly and then start reproducing.

What does Fountainhead Water taste like?

Attached: 1527476307826.png (493x449, 416K)

These were my stats when I got there, keep trying. You'll be able to parry every single attack after a while.

Attached: sekiro_2019_03_23_06_08_06_206.png (2560x1440, 2.64M)

The only thing I fought before Isshin was the spear miniboss with a sword bro. I'm pretty sure the bridge to the serpent shrine isn't part of Ashina Outskirts, its in the Ashina Castle section. I'm wondering if I can reach any of these.

How big a deal is dragonrot?
And also is it when you resurrect on the spot or when you die and have to use a respawn point? I've seen confusion and people saying both.

Is it just me or is this game short as fuck?

I am at the final area already 25 hours in.

Well fuck you too.

Return ending offers some hints, the bloodline comes from China. Sekiro becomes Journey to the West

>11 skill points
What are you doing, user. Upgrade your shit

Is there any practical use for bite down?

I've been trying the sprint method but my running attack doesn't come out fast enough to get away without taking damage sometimes, I wish I had a faster poke ability.

Firecrackers get me killed more often than not also, since if he's in the middle of an animation he doesn't care and will just one shot me. Also when he rears back on his legs he's really fucking hard to hit if you're in front of him

Is there really nothing I can go do before this besides hirata? It's by far the most difficult fight so far which is so stupid

>How big a deal is dragonrot?
Barely even matters
>Which Ressurection
It's when you die and respawn at a save point. On the spot Ressurection doesn't do it.

>Everyone saying sword saint is a pain and to cheese him by keeping pressure so he never picjs up the spear
>even "pro" dark souls players do this in their streams
>beat him fourth try with the spear

Attached: 1485341068091.png (259x224, 12K)

The skills do not do much

Dragonrot is literally a non-factor. The ONLY thing is does is lower your chance Unseen Aid and prevent you from doing certain sidequests without curing it. However curing it is trivial and the NPCs will never die.

Dragonrot progresses every time you hard die. resing does NOT impact dragonrot, there's no reason not to res.

Lorefags, explain to me why a lone Watcher washed up in nipponland and hangs out in the company of monks.

The Armoured Knight has a son named Robert, who has some terminal illness. So they traveled to Japan, selling fireworks to fund their travels, because he had heard a rumor about the Monks of Senpou who could grant immortality.

The Armoured Knight defends the bridge to Senpou, hopeful the Monks will be able to gift his son with immortality and save his life. In reality his son, and hundreds of other children, are dead. The Senpou Monks used them in cruel experiments attempting to create an artificial Divine Heir using the water which flows through the roots of the Cherry Blossom tree which is the Divine Dragon.

is it just me or do nearly no enemies follow up with attacks when your posture gets broken?

Why the big snake respawn? I killed it for the heart than it appear again in it's cave?

Literally revealed at the end of the fight.

I thought the centipedes were separate from the fountainhead water?

Oh nvm, I think I found it, thanks.

i rebound 'use item' to triangle/Y cos bloodborne and switch item to down d-pad. healing with up d-pad seems so retarded idk who thought that was a good idea

His son was dying. He heard he could cure him by bringing him there. He son then gets killed by the monks trying to make him into an artificial divine heir.

>so he never even picks up the spear
Fucking what mate? He stomps to knock you away and then does a big massive sweep with the spear. How do you prevent him from changing phases?

Don’t worry, when you finally reach her she’s the easiest miniboss in the game by far. You absolutely fucking rape her.

Sudoku at low hp so you can resurrect without putting it on cooldown. Obviously this is only useful if you have multiple resurrections available.

It's basically a half-health heal and potentially lets you "skip" some long winded attacks.

They are, monks are trying to combine them. Rice loli is the successful experiment

Nope. Don't give up. At least until you get to the monkey.
None of those matter if you can't parry for shit
like me

You're at a temple that's known to be dabbling in some immortality shit. He mentions his son and blocks your path to said temple. If he kills you, he says his son will receive the rejuvenating waters. The rejuvenating waters are mentioned as one of the three reasons for immortality. I'm not even one of those souls deepest lore fags and was able to take a hint.

There's also this item that talks about Robert.

>help thread
smells like onions in here

You might have to fight him again.

If you go to the Fountainhead and swim underwater you can see larvae centipedes growing in the bones of dead giant carp.

It seems to me that all the long-noodlish things in Sekiro are related to the Dragon. The giant snakes are worshipped as gods because of their connection to the Divine Dragon, and the centipedes are a parasitic representation of the Dragon.

I ACCIDENTALLY ATTACKED NOGAMI GENSAI IN A FIT OF RAGE NOW HE WON'T HELP ME FIGHT THE DRUNKARD AND KEEPS ATTACKING ME HELP WHAT DO I DO

I don't think there's a confirmation his son is dead or alive. I don't remember running into him.

Is that the Headless guy? You aren’t meant to fight those things until way later in the game.

You know that thing he does where he puts his head into the ground to turn? That's the best time to slash his butt. Don't ever attack him from the front, even when he rears up. The firecrackers are also best used after he runs into a corner and has to turn around. Always do a dodge away from him after slashing to reposition.

They don't have any AI to make them take advantage of your broken posture. They'll keep attacking at their normal pace, if you get hit, you get hit. Since it's usually the last hit on their string which breaks your posture, you have the time in between their combo strings to dodge which is usually enough. You tend to only get hit if you get posture broken in the middle of a chain.

Attached: sedatives.jpg (1131x1600, 209K)

Holy FUCK, screw the old lady. First time I went in I got her halfway through her second phase before dying and figured this fight was pretty straightforward. It all went downhill from there. After who knows how many deaths, I was getting close to breaking off for now and went in entirely aggressive.
Bitch didn't even have a chance to spawn any illusions I was spamming so hard. Got clipped once by a knife for chip damage, but wow was that cathartic.

No, the rice loli is an attempt to create an artificial Divine Heir. An immortal being from the Divine Water that doesn't have a centipede parasite.

I really wish I was even half decent at parrying.

if you firecracker on phase change he won't do that

What's performance like on ps4? DF shows steady 30 but one user said it was constantly in the 15-20s. Did I get trolled?

It is heavily implied by all of the red and white pinwheels and dolls of children. That is why you can't do the kotaro questline when you give him the red and white pinwheel.

His son is one of the dead child bodies you see littered around Senpou Temple.

maybe he is on one the pictures hanging in the sanctum

Right, my brain didn't not work
Remember to chew! Rice is very important :3

Keep up pressure. Eventually he will create space, but from what I've seen you can fill the bar up to 3/4-4/5 before he does so.

youtube.com/watch?v=RhbIAfloimM

Fuck off nigger. Have you even played the fucking game?

Somebody needs to mod this game to the Samurai Champloo soundtrack. Imagine fighting Genchiro with this youtube.com/watch?v=bZnnTGBR1ww

he does it again and again, speedrunners have been trying to skip the spear phase and they can't figure out a consistent way

The rice girl was created by the monks and secluded away in some secret location to protect her, perhaps as she was their key to remaining immortal.

Another user noted that the centipedes confer immortality because they drank the fountainhead water, but I didn't come across any explicit mentionings of this, other than the Guardian Ape centipede being at the bottom of the valley "where the Fountainhead waters pooled deeply".

Damn someone get on this.

Wow. I hope you never have control over a game's soundtrack.

Parrying is not a problem, dealing enough damage is.

This boss feels very darksouls-y, rather than block your hits, she just takes them and punishes me very severely if I even try to sneak in that third hit. It’s also THICC as fuck so it takes for fucking ever to slice that salami up so that I can start actually dealing posture damage. In the meanwhile the occasional hit that makes it through my defense eventually kills me.

The only really dangerous thing she does is her stab because it comes out pretty fast compared to the rest of her moveset and does it very rarely, so you barely ever expect it.

Are there any shinobi tools or items I can use to make my life a little easier?, I imagine Divine Confetti helps because she seems to be an apparition-type enemy.

PLZ HELP

What, easier than the centipede giraffe?

You can see Centipede Larvae growing in the Fountainhead Lake.

snap seeds deal a lot of damage to her, up to 3 times per fight

I’ve died around 40 or 45 times at lady butterfly thinking about giving up.

Shyamalan Warrior tips?
Terror builds too fucking fast

If resting doesnt fix it youre probably fucked mate

That's funny. I did the exact same thing. There's nothing you can do, he's permanently aggressive now. I wish I was kidding. Somehow he got baited into a fight and actually fought the bandits anyway, but he died and then was dead forever afterward. Wish I had better news for you.

She is hard early in the game, try her again after you have a damage upgrade and upgraded shurikens

Why the fuck does Emma have a lisp in the English VA

You can straight up just one-shot them with an anti-air deathblow.

Shuriken once she's above

The only "consistent" way is to keep up the pressure and give him no time to go standby to initiate it

Neat, I didn't notice that. In the lakebed, do you mean? I only went underwater there to get through the Great Carp's cave.

Did you pay for the game? if so refund it. the whole game is like her but ramped up to 11.

But is the immortality because of the centipedes, or is the centipedes immortal because of the water?

Butterfly is optional. Once you've obtained the extra prosthetics from Hirata, feel free to travel back to the real world and gather some extra health/attack power/skills from easier bosses before returning to her.

That said git gud she's not hard.

is the steam achievement unlocker updated for this game yet? i don't feel like getting all this stuff

Nice one miyazaki

Yep. Only one health bar and and you can literally just spam R1 without even having to worry about parries. Seriously it’s underwhelming as fuck but also kinda funny that you just dunk on her like that. I feel like it was an intentional gag.

Come to think of it, maybe she is optional. I went back to fight her before Blazing Bull, but I suppose I didn't really have to.

>Uses a spear

>Kills me even though I shared all my booze with him
"Sword" "Saint"

man that 2nd phase monkey fight was fuckin sick

>The item that dispels illusions deals large damage to her
Wait, really?, what the fuck?, is she not an apparition?

There's an area of the lake near the dual Headless that has a bunch of giant carp skeletons and a bunch of these glowing centipede larvae.

The bloodline of the Divine Dragon is immortal, that's Kuro and Kuro gifts that immortality to Wolf.

The Divine Dragon is a giant Cherry Blossom tree which has roots that run deep in Ashina. The waters of the Fountainhead run through these roots, and this imparts some of the Dragon Blood power into the water. This is the water that is in your Healing Gourd.

The centipedes function to concentrate the healing power of the water and gift power approximating immortality.

Note that it isn't the true immortality of the Dragon Blood. Kuro can't be hurt at all, nothing but the Mortal Swords can cut him.

Use Divine Confetti and burnish him to spam the attack button. Once he blocks your attack spam he slowly disappears and will reappear somewhere else in the arena and start shooting laser beams at you. These can’t be dodged unless your super close to him but surprisingly they can be deflected. Get close and start spamming attacks again. Keep an eye on your sword for when the confetti runs out and use pacifying agents if your terror is over halfway full.

As long as you do all this while remaining mobile he shouldn’t be too difficult.

Are you retarded? Did you apply the crack?

The second phase is easy he practically gives you free posture damage with the sword combo that ends in the big slice
Just do 2 hits when he’s open and run away.

Are there significant changes in NG+ that makes it worth playing?

Owl is an absolute bitch. Only boss to make realize how easy the others were in hindsight

>Are there any shinobi tools or items I can use to make my life a little easier?, I imagine Divine Confetti helps because she seems to be an apparition-type enemy.

don't bother going for multiple hits, she only takes 1 hit after her combo before she blocks

just chip her down until posture starts mattering and then it is E Z

>yfw Donkey Kong Country 2: Headless Kong’s Quest ft. Dixie

Those infested by centipedes can't be killed without the mortal sword either. Guardian Ape take 2 sort of being a weird exception

>Are you retarded?
Yes
>Did you apply the crack?
see above answer

Honestly just ignore it until later, you don't get anything useful from killing them, not even a prayer bead. You need to use Divine Confetti and have the purple gourd to have a good chance of fighting them. Don't waste your confettis until you can buy an infinite amount of them.

Same.

redpill me on the true ending

I have to admit Gyoubu's lines were delivered with passion though

youtube.com/watch?v=PlvnnhovOnE
hard boss

No I thought you needed the mortal blade to kill him/fight him?

Can you actually stealth kill a one/two of Divine Palace Corrupted Monk 's health bars or have I been baited?

*bumrush

Omakade (Giant Centipede yokai) is the only thing the dragons are afraid of in Japanese mythology. It’s all very symbolic you see

Get a little bit farther in, to the hidden village beyond the occult forest. There you’ll see a merchant that sells a gourd capable of curing terror up to 5 times.

Other than that the enemies in the abandoned dungeon, the ones that revive once, drop a terror-curing object.

Yes but the bodies the Centipedes inhabit can be damaged. You cut the Guardian Apes head off, it just doesn't kill him.

Kuro can't be cut at all.

Are the multiple endings in this game as kino as the 3 BB endings? There was something about the Gherman choice that no other game has matched for me.

Copy everything from the codex folder into the game folder

People should switch to the dub just for Gyobu’s fight
MY NAAAAAME

So does the ritual do anything other than unseen aid? If I'm a shitter and just dieing alot is it pretty much game over after a while?

It's those monks inside senpou temple that have the centipedes, but looks like they planned for one to be a miniboss or in a different spot

Owl felt like he should have been the true final boss. He fights you in a way that feels like the way intended. It felt right when we would deflect eachother and then both jump backwards to create space for another round. The attacks were small enough that you could move out of of his ninja tools with just the dodge. Sword Saint and Demon just make you abuse infinite stamina to sprint around.

Literally Journey to the West, Sekiro is the Monkey King.

Horse boi is even more based In Japanese tho
Yes, Theres a webm of it. You need a specific set up to get phase one tho

I finally killed him, instead of running away from him I stuck as close as humanly possible to his rear and slashed constantly since he doesn't have any attacks that can hit behind him

Fuck that boss man,

Umm bros what the fuck did my waifu mean by this?

Attached: 20190326212159_1.jpg (3840x2160, 695K)

The Ape's second phase keeps on fucking with me, I keep getting flashbacks to the dancer from DS3.

First phase is easy enough with simple baiting and maybe some fireworks if you get caught in a shit situation.

Attached: 1552784209405.png (400x400, 193K)

It's okay, but compared to the Jap VA, it just comes across as goofy.

>Beat Horsedude, Lady Butterfly, and Burning Bull all today

The real Sekiro starts NOW

Attached: 13558694619096.gif (512x251, 230K)

That building where there's a courtyard with some midgets and a centipede monk in the room behind them looked like it should have been a boss room.

You can do 2. Initially you use the grapple points to tether up and drop stab her. Then when she splits into spirits you grapple back up and drop back down on her for another free healthbar.

You can stealth kill the first two phases. The first phase skip is very difficult to pull off, there's a window during its initial landing + twirl animation and you have to hit it with a plunge. The second one is extremely easy, immediatly go to the branch during the illusion phase and look for when her real body reappears in the middle of the bridge.

Real Sekiro starts much later.

She’s saying you have a dick like a nigger

just be aggressive, deflect and counter and you wont see as many combos

>I just can't believe people refuse to play it in Japanese
americans don't like to read

Nah chill m8. You need to die an outrageous ammount of times for an npc to actually croak. Unless you are disabled memtally amd physically, you are good brah.

The Sculptor was once a Shinobi named Orangutan. He saved Emma's life and Sekiro reminds her of Orangutan, for obvious reasons.

If you're not afraid of playing a bit lame, you can keep running from him to bait out attacks, punish a little bit, then run away again. The arena is huge and the AOE attack does a lot of chip damage if you're even a little slow, so take your time and be careful.

I've died probably 1000 times throughout the game and i haven't even beaten the monkey. So you should be good. The only thing it does is block NPC questlines until you cure it with an item that is limited in supply.

>beat Guardian Ape in 3 tries

Such a great fucking fight.

Also, anyone able to extract and provide the graphical files for Sekiro? I wanna bring them into Photoshop, clean his face so it looks normal, and do a few clothing texture mods as well. I can't find anything that helps me attract the files from the game though. I found the modding Discord, but can't seem to dig up any apps that can do what I need.

I can not beat isshin phase 3. literally impossible since he doesnt do any attacks for the poke counter anymore

He’s not the same Isshin. It’s weird Japanese deeplore stuff. Old man Isshin has no interest in immortality and would rather Ashina go down fighting honest than turn to dark stuff.

The game booted up and I was able to get through 2 menus before it crashed. Now it won't even boot. Am I screwed?

Attached: CH-Ep2uRlynnp2LkAnxCeyHbH-tH2cuDU6e4nRDqgeo.jpg (960x640, 130K)

Oh I know which one you mean. I'll ask in Lance's Discord about this boss monk, maybe they find something.

that second phase is fucking exellent

not exactly difficult, but great nonetheless

Did it on my first try. Really makes Genichiro seem like an ultra jobber.

Sorry, I meant Headless Ape in the second fight with 2ape.

I'd appreciate advice on the drunk poison dude, the generals, and the guys in blue robes. I just can't seem to react to the red unblockable moves on the generals and the blue guys in time. I'm trying to stay aggressive and remain near them but by the time i register that I need to either press mikiri or press jump, I've invariably eaten a critical attack. the drunk boss I just don't know, his attacks have such weird timings I always mess up the parry and take a hit. Haven't made any progress for a while. I'm trying not to be frustrated.

Attached: genichiro2.webm (1280x720, 2.97M)

Yeah, that's how I did it as well. Good job! It took a lot of tries but it was satisfying when it was over.

Enemy's posture recovery is directly tied to their HP, and that goes for everyone, so it's only instantaneous at full health

If I go to NG+ and get the first prayer beads that I already got on NG, do those count for the max vit achievement?

I know this feeling, I did the same thing just yesterday. Also beat Lone Shadow Swordsman and one of the seven divine lances.

Greatness awaits pal, enjoy it.

for the blue nibbas

wait for their sword to glint, easy parry/dodge

I hope you aren’t talking about Hanbei.

>Guardian Ape take 2 sort of being a weird exception
The brown ape most likely wasn't infected

Just spam L1 and he will kill his own posture for you. You could literally beat him blindfolded

Every fight in this game can reach unreal levels of Kino.

Attached: sekino.webm (600x336, 2.89M)

You mean the purple guys that drop divine confetti?

I've seen that if you can parry one of his big moves (where he stands up and does a downward slash), you have the opportunity to use the spear tool and pull out the centipede inside him and attack it.

I only know of 3 headless, one in the mountain area , the second one is in the water in ashina castle, and the third one is in the cloudy area.
Are there more headless?

This
Took me about 20 deaths, but being super aggressive and staying close is what helped me. Prioritize posture damage over vitality damage, and get very comfortable learning his attacks and deflect them.

It probably didn't help that I wasn't ready health/upgrade wise, but I managed to brute force my way through it by gitting gud.

There's more to it but he can't tell you.
That person is near the castle anyway.

He’s kinda a quasi final boss in one of the routes.
Oh, you thought that was his final form? Foolish starving wolf.

Shurikens are good for taking them out from a distance. They're completely defenseless.

friendly reminder if you got this ending you're a heartless bastard.

Attached: file.png (1920x1080, 3.18M)

I really need to use prosthetics more often

The Divine Confetti effect looks so cool. Is there any merchant that will eventually sell it or do I have to keep grinding them?

They're blue. Do you have colorblindness?

prayer beads are unique. no duplicates

No, Isshin took Orangutan's arm. Emma convinced Isshin to train her in swordsmanship in case anyone else ever starts the path to Shura (see the Shura ending) and in case the Demon of Hatred that haunts Ashina ever breaks the wards of the Dilapidated Temple and possesses Orangutan, due to his karmic imbalance and she needs to kill him as repayment for saving her life.

nah the blue robed fellas

If you do this without a save backup you're stuck or have to start NG+, right? I didn't, but am curious to know whether you can back out of it.

People who completed the game: GOTY or not?
I personally think this is Miyazaki's best work so far

Nah you can’t get the same prayer beads again, they’re replaced by other items. You have to just get the missing ones in NG+

You can grind them? Aren't they basically made for the headless fights? I've met one the fuckers inside the mine

Merchants will eventually sell them, 350 a pop I think

Is there a time limit on getting the serpent fruits to give to the rice lady? Was planning on getting them after acquiring all three items for Kuro (mortal blade, stone, flower).

Theoretically if I get stuck on a boss, I could just get the Dragon Mask, farm a fuckton of skill points, and use them to stack my attack power to retarded levels of broken, right?

Should I save my skill points and unlock Breath of Life (Heal on deathblow) as soon as possible?

Everything else looks pretty mediocre. I already have mikiri counter which desu should be baseline

Near the end of the game, you can buy them.

i believe so. that's why i backed up the save before i made the choice. i only wanted the achievement.
to make the backed up save work after the fact you have to hex edit it so the game doesn't call it corrupted.

Drop the game, come back tomorrow refreshed. Try again.

With that attitude you will never be able to really give it your all. You’d be surprised how much these little things can affect the way we play, specially when upset at the game.

Oh I see, I wasnt able to use up all the sake on my first playthrough so I missed some lines. I didn't know Demon of Hatred was tied to the shrine, I thought it was iunside Orangutan all along

Do everything related to the return and purification ending before going to fountainhead palace

How many hours would that take?

Should I be doding around butterfly and slashing her instead of trying to parry everything ?

FUCK Snake Eyes Shirafuji, fuck her and her bullshit ass grab attack and gun combos. Wish I could throw her sorry ass off the clif and laugh as she lands with an audible crack. Never been so mad at a midboss but fuck this bitch

Just make sure you finish her side quest before killing the Divine Dragon. Any time before that is fine.

I'm on the fight against owl right now. Is it worth my time to go farm for upgrade materials and skill points or will it be easier to wait and do it on ng+?

Sure, or just grind for it at some point. It's a great skill to have.

The amount of exp required for every single point rises over each time, so you would need autistic levels dedication to farm that shit.

Well attack power goes up to 100 I think but you're gonna need hours of grind not unlike a korean MMO lol

Breath of life and mikari counter are so necessary it’s almost weird you don’t get them automatically early on.

Is there any character customization here? Outfit or skills? gonna buy regardless

If you start the boss fight, you're locked into the ending.
If all you care about is the achievement you should do a save backup, but this route also gives you Judgment Cut so you might want to do it on NG+

Im at ishin when does this game get fun?

Left and up. You can skip her.

You can deflect thrusts. No need for mikari counter

It's a mandatory skill to have as it basically allows you to proceed through areas without using your health flask.

Old woman awkwardly wobbles her ungainly gunstaff around and kills immortal ninja

Quickest way to demon bell?

I need those sweet sweet prayer beads tho

I already did that once, stopped playing a few days ago, today I picked it back up and did even worse because I forgot most of the timings.

Running past headless and using the ninja wall, only enemy you need to kill is mick Foley ogre and you can get it

It is a nice ability, specially vs a bunch of mooks but it’s not like in bloodborne with the heal on visceral attack rune, it heals a bit of health, less than a pellet will.

>pick up arm cannon
>take it to sculptor
>not paying attention to text
>item disapears from inventory and can't equip it

Wtf

Did you not find the shortcut to the first headless?

No the Demon of Hated is the abstract Buddhist kind of Demon. It haunts Ashina looking for a host so that it might manifest. Orangutan has a massive karmic debt due to this atrocities he's committed and almost becoming Shura, he carves Buddha to try and settle the debt but it doesn't work. He hides in the Dilapidated Temple surrounded by talismans to ward off the Demon. When the Interior Ministry attacks Ashina again the hatred of war empowers the Demon of Hatred and it takes Orangutan as it's host. It's not so much that the Demon was inside Orangutan, but the hatred that still burnt in his heart was what made him a host.

Will do. Thanks.

I think its more that it is trying to get to him who is in the shrine. He stays inside carving the Buddha trying to pay off his karmic debt but every time the statue is demonic. He cant use the memory buddha because it sends him to a realm of fire, which is his fate. The flames of hatred seek him as a vessel, and the wards are to keep him and the fires seperate/contained. After all, the old lady says that the flames of hatred will continue to exist, seeking a vessel.

Sprint around the drunkard and only attack when he does that push followed by a single hit attack or when he is drinking. Just do hit and run and he will eventually die from vitality loss

Oh I forgot about the headless oops

You need to equip it on the correct slot brainlet, open up the menu and check the prosthetic slots.

Even non bosses can have kino moments

If you get stuck always travel around to reload areas and exaust converstations with kuro, loli and emma

Double-parry when you see his hilt flash. Nothing else requred, not even any movement.

Do I have to do a certain ending to fight Owl (Father) or can I just get it without being tied to an ending?

Best place to farm oil?

I hate thos fucking guys so much

Yeah, noticed that when I was trying to trigger an earlier portion of the quest.

Definitely

Doing it will unlock the Purification ending, but you aren't forced to choose that ending when you eventually finish the game, assuming you have also met the requisites for another ending.

Is there any Soulsborne character who can beat Sekiro Become Shura, Demon of Ashina, wielder of both the Open Gate and the Gracious Gift of Tears, thus holder of both Life and Death?

Just play a but each day, don’t loose your cool ehen you loose and soon the long-term learning will overtake short term memorization and help you fight much better.

I hatet he path to Snake Eyes almost as much as Snake Eyes herself, jank ass grappling shit.

does divine confetti do anything on corrupted monk? i got through the water lady without it because i could run back to the bonfire to retry but if confetti works on the monk then im going to use it because im not about to dragonrot everybody.

I got the Shura ending and never fought him. Wolf just kills him in a cutscene immediately after killing Isshin.

>the wall behind them takes you right to the area where Kuro was being held

Attached: can't deal with it.gif (240x180, 395K)

Na. You can safely follow the requirements for Purification and Return ending both without getting stuck to one or the other. If you want to fight him in the estate go read Purification ending guide

Why are there so many monkeys

seconding this, I spend 1500 dollars on it thinking it would make the rice bitch do something for me but it doesn't do anything

When should I cure dragonrot? is there a certain % of "unseen aid" that marks the area where people start dying?

just go get the bonfire to the left of snake eyes and then cheese her with the poison.

The Sculptor taught them how to swordfight

If you disobey Owl you fight Great Shinobi Owl, not Owl (Father). You also play through several additional areas.

Am I missing something with the Blazing Bull fight? I could beat him eventually if I just keep running around like an idiot and getting small hits in, but it feels like there is something more to the fight that I'm just not getting.

>Takes me 27 hours to get the Shura ending
>Takes me 3 hours to get back to the same point as that ending on NG+.

I feel you

Do you need some item to kill that headless guy in the dark cave?

It's not really necessary, but it does help. She's not like Headless where you practically need it.

Also does anyone know where Black Hat Badger moves to after you get him to the grave? I never got to buy the fucking anti-air deathblow.

Once I realized that one of the biggest threats in this game is the shit camera when using lock on and started to play unlocked and focusing more on dodging through attacks rather than parrying as my primary defensive option, I started blowing through everything without much of an issue. I’m probably around 60% of the way through the game based on my amount of prayer beads and I havent needed more that three tries on a single boss/mini boss yet since I started playing like that. Even getting mobbed by multiple enemies doesn’t seem like nearly as much of a threat now. Literally the only bosses I’ve even attempted to parry outside of occasional situational uses are the first couple of miniboss samurai and centipede giraffe. I don’t get people that say playing like bloodborne isn’t possible, it’s made the game significantly easier for me.

Dragonrot can't kill NPCs. Just use it when you want to do a sidequest but can't because the NPC is coughing.

ALRIGHT Yea Forums

Which is better

AXE
Spear
Poison sword

They never start dying. Cure it when you want to do sidequests for NPCs that are afflicted. That is it.

They never die. Cure rot whenever you want to to progress a side quest or interact with a merchant

How do you like NG+? How much harder is it?

How do you progress Rice loli's quest? I'm at the second corrupted monk and have both snake viscera but all talking to her does is request rice.

Yeah

Divine confetti, it'll allow you to deal damage to aberration type enemies.

They're just minding their business in their dojo, user.

So I beat lord isshin in 2 tries. Meanwhile ogre probably took me 20 tries if were counting the times I died once and then went back to the shrine to get a revive. Demon of hatred took me probably 50. These 2 bosses are terribly designed. Best boss fights were genichiro and ishin, despite the fact you're doing the exact same tactics that you use on 90% of the bosses these 2 really took that strategy to its highest. Ishin using combat arts that you can learn was kino.

>GOTY
lol no, DMC5 is
>best work by miyahacki
no, that title still remains with demon soul's. This was much better than DS3 though and I hope they continue to get away from souls combat. Even better make a new tenchu or armored core.

Divine Confetti

Axe, not even a contest. The real question is Axe vs Umbrella. Both of them do insane amounts of posture damage.

There's a book you need to find in the Temple Grounds. It's in the pond.

based two computers similar posts (you)-fishing poster

Why the fuck did they make the mikiri counter the same button as dodge. Does anyone have an actual answer? Seems like bullshit to me.

Divine confetti and terror heals/purple gourd, don't bother until you can buy an infinite amount of them though.

that really takes a load off my shoulders

all shit, all you need is flame vent for bosses and shuriken for dogs/jumping enemies

anti-air deathblow shows up at the offering box.

wait deflecting those hits does that much posture damage on him? christ . Still, fuck all the blue and purple fuckers

Get rice from her 3 times, she'll give you special rice for Kuro, take it to Kuro and get the sticky riceball from him, then go back to her.

shield because you can use it on a new boss to get a feel for their moves without them putting their sword up your ass at the same time

>GOTY or not?
It's alright, but the game has serious problems, and the year has just began so who knows.
>I personally think this is Miyazaki's best work so far
I don't know, honestly don't like Miyazaki much, he recycles too much stuff from his past games and can't let go of his Berserk fetish.
That said, I did enjoy this game a lot more than the Soulsborne games despite its flaws, and overall, I'd say it has a good ratio of good to bad stuff, more than what I can say for the past games outside of BB or DS3.

If you like Miyazaki's style, I'd say it's easily one of his best realized games, very little loose stuff, mechanically concise and with a surprising amount of depth once you get to play around with more stuff and get accustomed to the game's idiosyncrancies.
Unfortunately, it's bogged down by heavily recycled content, excessive reliance on the Souls' aesthetic and style and some very questionable design choices and bosses, but the core of the game is very solid and it's a very good take on action combat and the Way of the Samurai approach to it, though I still think WoS does the "posture" trick better with its Stance Break and blade tension mechanics, mostly because Sekiro lacks the particular parry/push mechanics of those games.

It's pretty good though, satisfied enough to go through NG+.

In preview vids I saw the devs using the flame vent to light the katana on fire. How do you do that?

Because the mikiri counter IS a dodge. It's not a separate thing, it's just using the dodge in a specific manner against a specific attack.

Attached: mikiri counter.webm (1280x720, 2.78M)

go for a swim in the one body of water on mt kongo

As if the question can be answered any other way. Have fun watching me watch tentacle porn fag.

Why the fuck do I keep getting a flickering black screen when I try to boot this game? I've tried a few different sources and installations and every one manages to boot the game once for about a minute before crashing and then it never boots again. Am I gonna have to get this shit on a fucking console for it to work?

Attached: angdie.jpg (600x899, 33K)

I think we can all agree Mist Noble was the hardest miniboss

It's okay. I'm really only doing it because I didn't intend on getting the Shura ending.
It's not that much harder, to be honest. Enemies have more HP and do more damage. No new attacks from what I've seen.

Is there something behind it if I just run past it?

It's called Living Force, at the end of the Prosthetic skill tree

Poison. Anyone who answers anything else hasn't had the satisfaction of poisoning bosses.

Isn't that the one the monk who is there in place of the bell before you kill Genichiro gives you? I already gave that to her before I have her the persimmon and the taro persimmon.

Remember that her only unblockable on the ground is a sweep (so jump and jump again to kick her for it) and the only one on the ropes is a grab. Everything else can be parried. The game insisted I dodge but that had me taking hits, so nope.

I died 6 times to that fucker.

I remember struggling on this boss and now that I just finished beating the last boss I laugh at my old self for even struggling with this faggot

Killing him is when you become a man.

i can't trust anything you guys say because you guys told me genichiro at the top of ashino castle was hard, but i beat him in one try without using lightning reversal once.

There's a shortcut route to the hardmode bell in Senpou somewhere in that room, but not really. The Headless are optional minibosses that give you reusable versions of the consumable buffs like sugars.

>the grass
Fuckin' this. No wonder I keep seeing posts about how it took people 4 hours to beat him. People were also memeing how difficult Demon of Hatred is, but I beat him fairly quickly if only 'cause I could see his attacks and react to them unlike Isshin.

Firecrackers and umbrella are better than all of those

ONce you get used to the way it works it feels natural to shit out

Since that whole area is full on Heian Period(the architecture and old samurai armor) those guys must be really fucking old

She takes almost 0 Posture damagefrom a parry, and her shots are so fucking tracky and cheesy.

Wait, there's a headless near the bell?

>Killing him is when you become a man.
What about Owl in the estate?

Damn. I'm near the end of the game so might not get that till new game plus.

Year just started and honestly I still like DMC5 more. The game is really good at the core, but there's a lot of questionable design choices mainly surrounding the enemies and how the stealth mechanic works. In particular bosses that don't let you stealth at all are very annoying and essentially twice as hard as any boss that you can get a stealth hit on. I also really dislike the need to farm confetti to fight ghosts. The game would be well serviced by some sort of upgrade to the sword that lets you cut ghosts like normal.

I'm not that far into the game

>monks killed bunch of kids
>suddenly remember all those hidden bodies in there
oh fuck

Put that bitch in the poison

I HAVE 8 POTS AND STILL CANT BET GENICHERIO WTF DO I DO

Behind the hidden door in the temple right next to it

Install Windows 7
Update/downgrade graphic drivers

Was it kino?

Attached: Genichiro.webm (960x540, 2.77M)

where the fuck is the gun fort shrine for the gun fort shrine key that kuro gives you? i had already progressed past long arm centipede dude before getting it and im also at corrupted monk but i went back to where snake eyes is since the item description talks about him but i can't find anything for it. or is it for later in the game and should i not worry about it?

Didn't even know you could do that desu. Have you gotten all the rice yet? I think she gives you rice for Kuro after you've gotten it enough times.

>sword saint
>uses gun

Stop getting hit you turboscrub. Learn to deflect.
