They aren't supposed to heal. In fact, nobody is supposed to heal or tank in dungeons. You could tank Wailing Caverns with a hunter pet ffs, and replace the tank with a class that can CC. Classes are meant to bring whatever they can to the table. As a druid, your feral forms are meant to be useful and you shouldn't be relegated to "just" healing.

That isn't mutually exclsuive with having a ressurection ability, at level 55+ and farming for your pre-raid bis why would I ever invite a resto druid if I had to run back to my body if there's a wipe. As a Shaman at lower levels I can specc into enhancement and off-tank whilst being able to heal just fine and i'm still able to ress.
Feral druids are fucking amazing and I wish they stayed as useful for raiding but the entire restoration tree is made redundant by the fact that one misspull/cc break could waste 30+ minutes just because you can't ress your group after a soulstone if your party comp is busted. Yes a resto druid could switch into bear form and maybe hold-off long enough to prevent a wipe but it's too risky

I fucking duoed the first half of BRD with another druid and trioed the second with a mage and a hunter. Designing classes around roles really doesn't matter in 5man dungeons, what's more important is the class combinations for your run and what each player can bring to the table with their build, equipment, consumables, gadgets, etc.

Joining any pre launch “”””guild”””” that isn’t already playing on a private server is a really bad idea because they’re pretty likely to fall apart. You should wait until 60 to find a competent guild because the slow leveling filters out retailshitters who think they’re gonna be hardcore raiders but quit once hey do their first dungeon.
Also, a guild with a few women in it isn’t bad - especially since it takes 40 people to make up a raid group, which means they have less influence. However, since they’re OFFICERS, I would abandon ship if I were you. Putting women in a leadership position never goes well in any guild.

Any good guild is gonna bring a shadow priest / shadow healer hybrid to boost warlock damage output since they're pretty strong. Maybe five curses was an overkill, but so is doing this very optimal debuff list for early raids anyway. There's nothing wrong with arenas themselves, but having them be the sole avenue for serious PvP progression is silly, and pigeon-holes classes into very narrow specialized roles. In many ways it led to the homogenization we have now.

The whole point was it was SIGNIFICANTLY easier to get the best PvE gear than it was to get the best PvP gear.

Raid leads look at it and go "Holy fuck get that it gives mana back." but in reality the amount of mana MT returns is fairly low for the insane CD it has. It's okay to run at the very very start of progression when people are in blues and greens but after you've cleared even MC once or twice nobody is going to notice it missing.

I think you need like AQ gear to become the ultra-powerful elemental shaman, so.

You're thinking of PvE when Spell Pen gear starts appearing to somewhat mitigate the high Nature resistances bosses have and the lack of a corresponding Warlock Curse to deal with it. Ele is very good in PvP from the start.

Premades still hold the monopoly on honor farming, if there's no fucktard that goes over the honor cap they establish to rotate their members to R14 to buy the weps they will keep low but if there's someone then they will farm so much more honor than you that you will never ever see it.

Troll Shaman are the best for straight PvE because Berserk affects healing cast time, but Trolls don't have any racials that really benefit them in PvP at all unlike Orc and Tauren who have useful ones for both. There's no bad Shaman race though.

ZG always ends up being pugged after the first couple weeks. The core gets their idols and they don't want to deal with it, they'll just buy bijous/coins from the mages farming crocs.
And only a handful of guilds actually consistently try for the world bosses, that's literally only a thing for true neets. It's fun if you can swing it for the pvp alone but normal players don't stress over it.

It's not like you can play elemental anyway in raids because they have severe mana issues and can't even last two minutes. You're forced to constantly downrank spells and you won't even be in the top 20.

Same goes for enhancement. You'll be dead weight if you aren't raiding as a Resto. Enhancement is a garbage PVP spec outside of one shotting oblivious clothies. You get kited to shit by ranged. I should know I played enhancement.

Berserking by itself isn't going to make or break whether you're healing enough for a dungeon. It may possibly have an effect in PVP however where interruptions can quickly become obnoxious.

You will rarely see raids willing to take along enhancement shamans when they can take along actually good melee dps. So the entire point of Blood Fury is out the window. Halving the healing you do to yourself for 25 seconds is extremely counter intuitive to those 30/21 enhancement resto builds. So you wont' even be using it in PVP. So the viability of it for Shamans specifically goes out the window.

You're left with Hardiness, Berserking, and War Stomp. Hardiness is great for PVP but your abilities are lack luster for PVE. Berserking is okay for PVP/PVE. War stomp is near useless in PVE but great for PVP. It's all down to your play style. They are all viable and your choice won't make or break your ability to PVP or PVE.

Shamans always heal in PvE and berserking is the best racial for healing.

Berserking: Increases your casting and attack speed by 10% to 25%. At full health the speed increase is 10% with a greater effect up to 25% if you are badly hurt when you activate Berserking. Lasts 10 sec.

Realistically most of the time you'll only be getting roughly 10~15% of that haste. It's nice yes but it's not like it's essential for clearing raids. You're not DPSing as a Resto Shaman at all.

I peaked Rank 12 in Classic and Gladiator in Tbc/Wrath.Most of the High Warlods were not the most skilled players on their servers,they just no lifed the game the most.
There were some who were actually good and you would later meet them in high arena raitings,but the majority just grinded 24/7+account share and nepotism/premades.
While I agree arena shouldn't give the only good pvp gear,it is the best way to test the skill of players.The old system really was just a grind with a few decent pvpers and premades shitting on randoms.
The only bad thing about arena was that Blizzard:
1.Never fixed fotm classes or it took ages
2.Wintrading,Laddercheating was very rampant rarely someone was punished
3.They were to dumb to implent differenct interactions for abilities for players and mobs.So they could balance Classes seperate in PvP,that way the PvE Community wouldn't have cried.

Not for PVE. For PVP yes. Think of it like a really bursty class that has mana issues. Like Shadow Priest. It has that burst but lacks the sustain of other classes and that's why it struggles in a raid environment.

Only go Shaman if you're okay with being a healbot in PvE. PvP you can do whatever but you're locked to resto in raids. Other than that Shaman is a lot of fun and I you'll see way less of them than the other 3 classes you listed.

Most people avoid arenas because the respec cost and there's no reward for low/mid tier rating.

I played a warlock as my main so I was leaning that way. I played an undead warlock but I was gonna try a gnome warlock and I really don't mind shard farming im just worried it'll be the patch before they removed the debuff limit, with a debuff limit warlocks are gimped in PvE and they're just a shittier mage. I never played a shaman in BC or vanilla but I had one in wotlk and found them fun.

All those servers have in common two things: They have no good guilds and all of the servers are bad, filled with bad players. What bad players do or don't do is of no concern to me.

Let's not count unequipping/equipping gear. If you play correctly you can stay at low hp throughout any raid. In MC you can utilize lava damage on Geddon, Shazzrah, Sulfuron, Golemagg, Majordomo and Rag.

In BWL you can be low hp on Razorgore, Vael, Brood, Firemaw, Chromaggus and Nef.

And so on, and so forth.

Berserking will not make or break your raid's ability to heal through any of the raid content. Simple.

You can pvp the way you're meant to perfectly fine on a pve server. big world pvp raids on tarren mill/crossroads also happen on pve servers often enough to scratch that itch.

the only pvp experience worth anything that you miss out on is legitimate equal grounds world pvp with one other enemy player, but that happens so fucking rarely it is just not worth being ganked countless times for.

The difference in Classic is that you usually just fight mobs one at a time. Retail you are usually killing a ton at once especially in groups with personal loot. AOE looting is much more needed. Vanilla is slow killing one by one

Unless you're a mage AoE grinding you won't really need to loot 30 mobs at once. I don't detest the idea of AoE looting, but I don't really think it's necessary either way.

If your picking up Engineering for PvP you sacrificed a profession slot that could have been used for....let's say alchemy. so now you need to make gold to buy consumes for both raiding AND pvp AND engineering mats. That combined with the fact your competing with all the other "minmaxers" in your guild for gear means your spending every moment you can either raiding or preparing to raid. Meanwhile mister casual shitter just hit rank 11 in PvP and has the full pvp set which is better than prenax raid gear (for pvp). And now he's camping your ass as you farm gold to afford the consumes you need to stay in your "epic" raiding guild. And then lets say after all that you manage to get full naxx AND have a modest supply of free-action potions AND trained engineering after the fact. Well jokes on you cause WoW stopped being fun over a month ago and you can barely summon the will power to wank to female NEs on the IF mailbox let alone gank some shitter outside orgrimmar.
