Graphics and music were top tier. Combat was very simplistic and easy, but somewhat fun and enjoyable.
Equipment, abilities and magic were garbage.
Story started interesting but it was going worse and worse with every chapter with a lot of stuff that was stupid, didn't make sense or was just cut out into dlc.

Episode Ignis and Ardyn are great.

It's as said. You set up you combos in a menu by licking what order the weapons were used. Each weapon had its own attack. Then they patched in link attacks and other stuff. It's still wasn't all that great but it was a lot more interesting than what the final game delivered.

Things were still, at their core, some of the same, but all of the Techniques were something Noctis could pull off on his own, and the weapon rotation was automatic.

Take note that Noctis' voice acting is the same VA, but almost completely different. Ray Chase nearly got the boot for being considered "too out of place" by fans, but he re-auditioned and they had to redo all of his voice acting in under a year.

For comparison, Horizon Zero Dawn sold 10 million copies on a single platform.

How the fuck is there only 2 zones in an open world? Everything is going great, you think you’re about see the map open up finally and then.... your in the Verus conversion and its all on rails. FFXIII comes back to say hello for 1/3rd the game. You’re running down hallways.

Square cannot seem to manage a budget at all. It’s so obvious Versus and XV were separate projects. Versus was a KH combat style with FFXIII hallways and XV was supposed to be something else with Skyrim style gameplay.

Both games went 4 years in the making and then they ran out of money and both were nowhere near ready so someone said. Combine and release them before we can’t make payroll.

You look at it that way and the game makes a lot of sense. Really If the world was 3x as big and had as many characters that were interesting it would be great.

Instead it’s still fun and hanging out with the fag band is cool and the ending was worth it but it definitely feels poorly managed with an empty world and piss poor side quests not even worth doing.

Can confirm for FFXV. Played it with my brain basically shut off. Had an okay time. Now, I struggle to say much good about it, with my largest memory of the game being about the janky platforming dungeon. FFXIII though? I couldn't even slog through it if the game literally did auto battle itself from start to finish. The story looked interesting at first glance, and I might have liked it if the gameplay hadn't bored me to tears.
