You disgust me
Yea Forums contrarianism at its finest
Tooie did everything better than Kazooie
You can't even type this with a straight face.
We get it, you're mad it became popular around here to prefer Majora's Mask to OoT and you're desperate to have a controversial opinion because you think that's a substitute for a personality
I do, Kazooie is kind of boring in comparison with Tooie
I prefer Ocarina
you and anon2 are welcome to tell me why kazooie is better
It's convoluted as fuck. It has good content, sure, but it also has hours of absolute slog that was absent from Kazooie.
Correct.
I think Majora shat the bed with the final boss, and Ocarina.
Also I genuinely prefer Kazooie, but that's not to say Tooie wasn't good or without its charm
Style is superior but level design is not
>all that backtracking
>Grunty Industries
>the sequel bait that was never delivered
Yeah, nah. Fun, sure but definitely not better than Kazooie
>backtracking is great
>great levels, aside from GruntyInd, that really was not so bad
>bosses
>great music
>multiplayer
>a lot of gameplay styles
>better graphics
kazooie it's a great game but feels empty in comparison
B-But user
I liked Grunty Industries
Weldar boss battle was one of the best, and the level had a "behind enemy lines" feel, like DKC2's Crocodile Isle
>kazooie
>empty
terrydactyland is empty
It'd rather replay Nuts & Bolts than Tooie ever again.
Correct.
brainlets in this thread cant bond over common hate of N&B like real men
then I guess you are a masochistic and a contrarian
Backtracking bitching is the confirmation that you're a brainlet getting his opinions from youtubers.
First off, backtracking is a regularly accepted game mechanic and a foundation of stuff like Metroidvanias and Souls games.
Secondly, Tooie doesn't even have a lot of backtracking. The first half of the game's worlds only has 1 jiggy tied to backtracking for each world. And the second half only increases by 2-3. And you unlock the final worlds of the game at basically the same time if you don't suck.
It’s okay if you think that. I can understand why the larger, more interconnected worlds appeal to people. I’m still personally more a fan of the first game. I’m not a fan of backtracking, I like being able to enter a world, 100% it, then move on. The worlds in Tooie are honestly too big for my taste. They feel large and empty at times, and while some are still pretty good imo there are some which are just tedious to navigate. The worlds in the first game are just tighter and more memorable to me. There’s also just too much superfluous fluff in Tooie, almost all the moves you learn are situational and not that useful. There’s also tons of mini games that are just kind of meh. Like I know the first one had mini games too and they were often just okay, but they went overboard in Tooie. I dunno I found stuff like playing as Mumbai and the first person sections really cool as a kid, but they’re not really that enjoyable to me anymore. Anyways all that said I still get why some people prefer Tooie, I still think it’s a good game, but is much rather replay the first game when I’m in a Banjo mood.
People who don't like Grunty Industries were just not ready for a level that big.
Banjo Tooie is the N64's Yooka Laylee. Faggots only like it because of nostalgia.
>The worlds in the first game are just tighter and more memorable
>almost all the moves you learn are situational and not that useful
The first game just asks you to apply eggs or the ground pound to over half the puzzles and minigames though, user.
Shitpost all you want, i loved gliding aimlessly as Kazooie through all tooie levels for the sake of fun
Kazooie is a fucking pre alpha build compared to Tooie.
I'll say it again: super banjo mode makes it the indisputable best game, and that's being generous to whiny cunts. I got along fine just knowing my warp pads.
>First half has one jiggy tied to backtracking for each world
Fuck off mate that's a lie, uness you count Mayahem Temple as the first half
>Glitter Gulch Mine has 1 jiggie that wants split up pad, (do-able without but aggravating)
One that needs you to return to mayahem temple, one that needs the spring boots
Witchy World has 1 that needs taxi pack from world 5
Jolly Roger has one that needs glide from world 6,one which needs you to bactrack form Cloudcuckooland to hailfire peaks after killing George, and one you need hatch form the next world
Shit like this is underrated and one of the reasons why I love Super Mario Sunshine when it's so disliked. Mario feels so good to control that it's fun just moving around.
Just being able to run faster, right?
>slog in tooie
>completely forgets clankers cavern
>Best iteration/story of Shadow
>speed stages are fantastic
>the soundtrack, even in shitty levels like mech ones or treasure hunting ones, are great
>light speed dashing and spindash jumping feels good
>the fucking grinding
>my chao I would take care of for hours after school
It's flawed as fuck, it's probably a 6 maybe 7/10
but it will always be a 10/10 in my heart.
You can 100% Clanker's Cavern in less than a half hour, buddy. Get fucking good.
Yes.
Its got tons of knockers in it, more than BK1.
Bless the Brits
twice the speed of banjo and enemies
GRUNTY GRUNTY IN DA STREETS
GRUNTY GRUNTY IN DA STREETS
what the fuck was a slog in tooie? even with brain damage its an 8 hour game
I'm not them but I prefer tooie's gameplay due to the new mechanics, while I prefer kazooie's story and level design significantly more than tooie's
this but unironically
>better music
>more exploration with nonlinear levels
>better moves
I fucking love sunshine over all the other mario 3d games, the story, gameplay amd worlds are amazing
i can speedrun any other level in less than half an hour. dont lecture me about slog in tooie when that abomination of a level is kicking around in kazooie
Superior/inferior isn't how I'd look at it. Kazooie is a great game, and Tooie is a great sequel. They're beautiful together and I don't know many pairs of games that pull off the same one two punch
Well yeah, both games are amazing and a great example of “sequel beats the original”
Sage doesn't go there you retard
anyone who disagrees is a nostalgiafag
>hey cool i can turn into a big t-rex
>Literally nothing to do with it but weigh down a switch and roar at a caveman
Terrydactyland is shit.
Yes
Kazooie is still the better game but I would never defend Clanker's Cavern
As an 18 year old who just played through it this year, I agree user!
>Tooie is the superior Banjo game
It isn't, but that doesn't mean Tooie is bad.
I like them both a whole fucking LOT, but Kazooie just had the better level design, less clutter, it was more stream lined in general, and the constant backtracking wasn't as constant nore annoying.
Kazooie had Click Clock Woods, Op and nothing in Tooie managed to exceed that level.
Did you play the original as well?
Yes of course, maybe a few years ago. Kazooie is bland in comparison with worse music and less to do, people complaining about backtracking must have never played metroidvanias
CCW is amazing, but that alone doesn’t make kazooie better than tooie, tooie it’s just the near perfect sequel to an excelent game
Backtracking was just right and make the game even more fun and interesting
And don’t like challenges or exploring too
Metroidvanias suck to begin with
Hey, don’t be a retard
When did this become a contrarian opinion?
Go fuck yourself.
Nobody was pretending Tooie is a better game until recent years.
no, you
Source: because I say so
This is an objective listing.
Click Clock Wood > Mad Monster Mansion > Rusty Bucket Bay > Treasure Trove Cove > Freezeezy Peak > Bubblegloop Swamp > Gobi's Valley > Mumbo's Mountain > Clanker's Cavern
Word. I can respect an informed opinion. I have a soft spot for that music though
people can change their minds over time
That may be a contentious statement, but one thing I always think is that Tooie is the logical sequel to BK.
You keep all the same moves you already had
They never retread old territory in terms of level complexity.
They only built on what was already established, which made the two games seem like an actual series instead of something they wanted to do over and over until it got stale.
For that Rare were geniuses.
Strange because CCW was the most tooie-like level in bk
Underrated aspect of the series: all the human characters are gigantic in size for no logical reason, excluding the "hags"/Grunty's natural state
You're gonna make me cry
This
Both games are masterpieces
