look at a game with spritework you like. try to replicate it. look at what spriting rules they follow.

i started a few years ago when I saw the sprite work for mighty switch force, and ever since I've just been hoening my style

Thanks, first time doing sprites, any good tutorials out there to get better? Going to be doing tile sets as well.

youtube is a great way to start. I can't exactly recomm anyone in particular, mostly because art is freeform and you have to find your own style. can say you're definitely on the right track though
