So I got a switch for a great bargain the other day with BotW and a Pro Controller.

Aside from Mario Odyssey, what do you guys recommend to get. Also digital or physical?

256 gig micro sd, ffvii, smash, mk8dk, snatch up mk11 next month

Gunbird 2
Zero Gunner 2
Ikaruga
Street Fighter 2 Ultra

Physical all the way.
Buy Xenoblade 2 and Smash

I concur

I do physical for large mainstream or AAA titles. Anything indie I buy on the eshop.

I legitimately regret buying mine. Tetris 99 is about the most fun I've had with it, Botw is just busy work, Smash has horrible input lag, and the online store is fucking shit still. Odyssey is probably the best first party game I've played on it though Bayonetta 2 is pretty fun also.

I heard 400gb micro sd cards have come out recently, how are those? Haven't played Mortal Kombat in years either so I'll look forward to how that plays.
Don't really play bullet hell games, how well does that play on the switch?
I think I'll do a mix of both. Also I heard that the DLC for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is quite good, how is that?

You already have the best game you'll play on the damn thing lol

Xenoblade 2 is pretty awful, the story and characters are moeshit on a scale unprecedented for most JRPGs and specially Xenoblade.

How much did it cost?

£220 altogether. So pretty good.

Did it come with the dock? If so what the fuck, how did you get that?

I haven't played it myself yet, but I heard that it fixes the few issues the base game has with its combat. I recommend first playing the base game and then the Torna dlc

Idort here, Physical when possible, but you will still probably want to invest in a good sd due INSTALLING, UPDATES and DLC.

I rather liked Starlink, but it is toys to life with the design and pricing to suit it, i got the starter pack physical and then got the DLC bundle on a sale and i think it clocked around 60$, keep in mind that this was all on sale though, it also isn't technically a exlusive, it just has additional content and seems to be the version getting the most love from the Devs due that additional content.

Octopath was nice, overhyped but nice, but very lightweight, get on a sale for less then 20$ if possible and you like JRPGs.

Another JRPG is Xenoblade 2 which is okay if you can stomach SINGLE PLAYER GACHA (Rates ain't too bad with a few exceptions and your "free" blades can easily take you through the story), honestly it is probably a extra good choice if you are trying to quit a actual Gacha, the actual battle system is pretty fun and it had a ton of support resulting in features like able to set the difficulty in a multitude of different ways to your tastes and a expansion with a HEAVILY modified battle system. People will claim it ain't a Waifubait game, but it is definitely a Waifubait game. But that ain't necessarily a bad thing. Im also pretty sure it is the most sizable game on the console if you get it digital and with all DLC, as in it takes up the most space in you storage.

Mario Rabbids is interesting, but honestly couldn't hold my interest, and i say that as someone who loves XCOM/NuCOM.

Smash Ultimate is Smash, kinda hard to NOT recommend it, especially since you have the Pro and the Joycons, meaning you already have support for two local players.

These are the most notable titles to me.

It also might be worth picking up some multiplat games too if you want them handheld, but it is a bit of a niche if you want/need that, but obviously the performance is usually noticeably worse.

The DLC's worth depends on how much you like the main game, which is polarising itself. I'd say hold out on buying the DLC until you're really into the game. I would also advise playing with japanese audio if you can handle name changes.

Yep. My neighbour sold it to me after his son passed away saying that he only needs one now which is the one that his son used.

I see. I'll keep that in mind.
Danké my man. Been missing out on vidya for a good while now since studying in Uni again.

O-oh.

honestly 400 is overkill for now

Oh damn, I suppose that's a pretty unrecreatable situation.

Will keep in mind then

whats the reason for going full moeshit? I'm emulating the first game on Wii and it's pretty good (albeit easy) but Xenoblade 2 looks like actual cancer going by the webms and reviews I've seen.

dunno. they even managed to make shulk look worse in the dlc for 2

fair enough. I think I answered my own question actually. people like me don't buy their games, weebs who like fan service do.

Digital is honestly nice because you don't have to switch out carts. Maximum comfy.
Lots of indies on switch if you haven't played them yet, and again very comfy in bed.
As far as exclusives/wii u games I would recommend:
mario + rabbids kingdom battle (xcom-like)
smash if you're into that is great
octopath if you like JRPGs
bayonetta if you are into cuhrazy
Not nintendo exclusive but....okami is great on switch (touch screen + controller in one)

smash and mario kart 8

It depends honestly.
Which platforms do you play games on the most?
Do you often have friends over for multiplayer or do you wish to?

Smash Bros Ultimate, Xenoblade 2, Bayonetta 1+2 (together), Mario+Rabbids, and go preorder Fire Emblem

I play on the PC mostly nowadays and I haven't touched my PS4 in a long time.

No problem, it was on character cap so did miss some stuff though, for example it is also worth noting there are some notable games like Hyrule Warriors, A Mushou with Zelda originally released on WiiU and then had a "updated" release on 3DS with additional stuff but also downgrades due hardware and now the Updated Release again on Switch with the additional stuff but without the downgrades. And Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (The WiiU Mario Kart with the DLC and a couple of extra characters and kart parts and mechanical rebalanced like allowing 2 items at once and a Battle mode. But those are updated rereleases of WiiU/3DS games that you may or may not have played already. there are also some straight "ports" like Bayonetta without noticable changes other then running better due improved hardware.

There is also Splatoon 2 (and the DLC for it) which kinda depends on if you gonna shell out money for Switch Online since it is Online Multiplayer focused, which i personally skipped because i didn't actually like the first one on WiiU and because i knew the "Free Online" for it was gonna end anyway.

pro controller and joycon grip are shit. Split joy-con is the most ergonomic game controller design ever made. But be ready to replace analogs in 3-4 months with chinese parts, because original are poor quality and break easily.

Not OP but anyone cares to recommend games outside of Nintendo stuff? I need more to survive the drought, currently playing LA Noire and Baba

Get Katamari Reroll if you haven't already. If you like JRPGs, Ys VIII and Tales of Vesperia are solid.

How did the son die? Onions overdose?

Wtf i typed onions not onions. Anyway tho sorry for your loss.

Hello neighbor and bendy portable.
