How I would improve this gamepad:

How I would improve this gamepad:

-Make it so there is a way to switch the d-pad/analog stick positions (I only know of some old ass gamepad that did that)
-Make it so the analog sticks have a similar resistance to the 360 ones
-Put all the face buttons on the same level, improve the rubber dome contact and feel
-Improve and expand support for impulse triggers
-Make the overall gamepad less noisy (buttons and d-pad)
-Make it easier to disassemble (fuck the wires related to the motors near the triggers)
-Include a perhaps cheap version of the battery that's sold separately, instead of AA batteries

Do you like it as it is? Would you do anything differently? Any other gamepads you would want to improve but like a lot? Personally I still like this controller far more than most controllers I tried.

i disagree

Add pedals.

>retard ideas for a retard thread
the controller can't be mproved further with current technology
that's peak looks like etc

make it wired
fuck wireless forever

Literally just plug a microUSB cable

You have at least one of those, come on

i do
but the little metal bit in the female end or whatever it is on the controller itself lasts about an hour before getting bent to the point it will disconnect if tilted even a little
and i treat my controllers like faberge eggs

add gyro
less clicky bumpers that extend more out to the side like on the 360
mushy d-pad
make the start and select buttons say start and select again

that's it

>microUSB
It's fucking shit and gets easily damaged.

I use a wire that clicks without wiggling much and haven't had problems with it. Granted it's the latest model but still

>Loud buttons
What? Sure the dpad makes subtle clucky noises (which I actually like), but the buttons?

I have the wired xbox 360 controller and I modded the dpad to be less shit

Compared to the dual shocks, the face buttons are somewhat noisy. They have a lot of travel.

I tried the cardboard/plastic disc/cross behind and the problem is that it went from not registering shit to registering diagonals even by looking at it.

For some reason the PS4 controller is faster over bluetooth than it is wired.

I might have a defective xbone controller. My A button likes to do whatever it wants to do sometimes. If I hold it, sometimes instead of being held will register a lot of quick presses. Sometimes I press it lightly (but still press it, and still goes down and up) and doesn't register a press. It's messing me up a lot.

start and back resetera trannie

I'd make it wired and that's it. However, Microsoft are the only company making their controller better gen after gen so maybe the Xbox One successor will have an even better one.

I currently use a knock off one which is 99% as good but doesn't live as long long, just because it's wired.

>comparing to shit
lmao at your life sonygra

Put it in the trash and get a SNES controller.

>BUT ANALOG
Analog controls are imprecise, glitchy fucking cancer.

Don't ever call me a sonegro. I love the gamecube controller.

You can try adjusting the thickness of the plastic disc with sandpaper

Modern games require modern controllers. Even if digital you would require more than 8 buttons and a d-pad.

Next revision: USB C

The reason is polling rate. Something near 250hz wired, 500hz over bluetooth. One of the multiple reasons the battery is so fucking terrible on it.

motion controls

>modern games
You mean trash games. If your game needs more than four face buttons, two shoulder buttons, and select/start, your game is shit or it should be controlled by keyboard/mouse.

I like your suggestions, but add a wire and remove the battery. Also make it 360-controller sized. Actually just start with a 360 controller and give it a better D-pad, bonus if it's modular like you mentioned.

>he's never played a sega game

I'd be ok with a 360 controller that just changed the d-pad with the one on the xbox one, or maybe something even better.

I'm not even sure what this is supposed to mean.

2 more
>Add the 360 LED ring back
>Add gyro controls

Xbox One D-pad is a little too clicky for my taste. Can we all agree that a 360 controller with a nintendy D-pad would be the ideal controller?

That'd be fine but I'm not sure Nintendo would like it.

reminder that sony-style stick placement was a factual afterthought and that anyone who believes that it's "proper" is lying to themselves

>buy this controller for my PC because I figure it’s better to use a controller with full support
>it sucks for all the reasons OP listed
>go back to using my DS4
I beg everyone to never buy this shitty controller.

How to improve this gamepad:
Buy the elite controller instead

nintendo can get fucked, it's not like they have the dpad patented

And spend that much for a controller that isn't even that durable? Nah nigga

behold the perfect controller

I'm tempted to get a steam controller. I never liked PlayStation controllers.

>No Doug button
Pass

make a wired version
>inb4 you can already use a microusb cable
these are awful and are very faulty compared to a fixated wire
i already had to replace 2 of them meanwhile i never had to replace my wired 360 pad

There's an xbone style PS4 hori controller with a d-pad that looks like that, but apparently isn't so good.

> Switching dpad ans stick
No. It turns it into clunky frankenstein unless reserved for elite models. If you want both sticks on the same level, get ds4. But oh wait, ds4 sucks dicks and even "pro" versions resemble xbone pad.
Easier to dissasemble
Again, you are asking for clunky piece of shit that is easy to be broken. Nobody will sell you proper spare larts - why bother?
> Cheap version of battery
They were selling something like that but you have to be a literal brainlet to not pick up 4x Enerloops.
I rate it 4/10, see me after class.
Here are my thoughts
> Good implementation of gyro aiming.
> Next level triggers which can adjust how hard it is to press them - simulating thinga like pulling gun's trigger or stepping on gas pedal.
> Actually useful select buton instead od view button which 20% of games implement.

>Vita d-pad
Wrong placement.

ehh the only problem I had with the onyx is that the triggers were too stiff

symmetric analog is trash, you don't play shooters with a controller

Exactly, I don't. That's why I like it that way.

I don't like the build quality of my xbone gamepad. The plastic isn't lined up correctly so there's a weird gap that stabs me. And it feels hollow. How is the DS4 and Steampad in comparison? Should I just give up?

I'm legitimately trying to find a really good third-market Xbox Controller - are there any recommended ones? I'd preferred wired.

xbone mini

I don't like the extra/different sized buttons on the right (prefer the traditional 4 button layout) but I'd still buy it!

I posted about it in another thread but try the zd-n. cheap and not too shabby. not as good as a legit 360 controller was but okay. wired and wireless versions exist.
