If I have to give a serious answer to this question, then Kanna's head almost certainly isn't like a regular flower pot. Beat it last night and honestly, I don't think there's any outright bad parts of the game. The worst is that ladder planetoid but even that's manageable once you learn that pressing jump grabs ladders. The main planets were all pretty good, the boss fights were consistently good, the planetoid exploration/sidequesting was a nice little bit of spice. Honestly, the absolute worst thing about the game is the brutally unforgiving fall damage out of tank (which makes said ladder planetoid a bit more of a pain) but that was also true of the first one. BMZ2 is just a good ass game front to back.

You get the energy guard later on (if you don't suck at exploring). It works a little like the life shield from megaman legends, but for your gun level. As long as you don't take two hits in a row, you won't lose gun level, but the "En. Guard" breaks and needs to auto-repair after a few seconds. This lets you keep your top-tier shot types much easier.

If you have a 3DS you can play BMZ however it runs at a reduced framerate. The NES game is always good.

The first Blaster Master Zero. The second one is definitely better, but both games are great, and playing the first one will give you a better appreciation of the sequel.

There's quite a few things that kinda suck about it, but there's also a number of good things, too. Here's my personal experience review.

=Pros=
1. No more fucking lives and you also get passwords. Thank fuck.
2. New map design. Generally a bit more fair than the original which can have some cheap bullshit near the end. Doesn't have endless loop areas either, as far as I know.
3. Block Mazes: Interesting idea, but the execution is a little risky since they're easy to mess up. It definitely makes you actually care about using Jason more in side-scrolling along with considering more of his capabilities, however limited. Especially after the gun upgrade that only lets Jason break certain blocks.
=Mix= (good and bad in a way)
1. Most "cabins"/caves are now mandatory. This is because boss doors are now locked with keys (1, then later 2 per boss door). It beats going into the wrong cave to get nothing but supplies, some of which don't make up for any life and gun levels you lost on the way there. However, it is also a bit tedious when said caves get stupidly long, and you can still end up going to a cave that has nothing but supplies. especially in the early areas when you only need 1 key.
2. New upgrades. Sophia gets a few new extra upgrades and there's even some for Jason this time. Unfortunately, some of these are just giving them back things they originally had on NES. Sophia now needs a "High Jump" to get certain places, and Jason needs a gun upgrade to get past 3 levels of gun meter. On the flipside, Sophia can now get extra Life meter, and Jason can get a shotgun to use instead of grenades.
3. New bosses. Even though the areas are essentially remixes, at least we don't have just the same old bosses again. Unfortunately, some of them can be kinda bullshit, especially early on. They're not too bad halfways onward.

I just found that out playing around with the fire charge shot like ten minutes ago. It burns the wire away and it never comes back. Its always fun to discover little things like this.

=Cons=
1. Controls. Jason can't move diagonally, which fucking sucks. He couldn't face diagonally before (still can't), but at least he could move/dodge. Sophia jumps and moves a little differently, but I feel like the map design doesn't require the tight controls of the original. The ice area still fucking sucks though.
2. Screen Crunch. As someone else mentioned, it is kind of annoying. It gives you less space to deal with in boss arenas, and makes some jumps with Sophia a bit annoying (this actually is only rarely a problem though, so they got it mostly right). It's a bit of a mix for Jason, as some enemies won't target him if he's out of screen-range, and he can get an early shot in on certain enemies, but the ice area can be pretty annoying. Too much of a detriment to be a proper mixed aspect.
3. Gun levels 1-2, 4, and 7-8. All of these fucking suck. 3 is decent, since it's a fast straight shot and you can have 3 shots onscreen (I think, but I'll have to check). 5 is just decent enough, but 6 is a good spread shot, though a bit short range. The ones before 7-8 are just really inferior versions of their superior types, so much so that it hurts. 7-8 as I mentioned earlier, are just super shitty and slow versions of the Level 8 wave-style shot of the NES and BMZ1. You actually have to maneuver yourself to hit anything with them because they don't actually aim directly in front of you. This becomes a real hassle when more than one enemy is onscreen and even more so against several bosses. The arcs are also way too damn big, so it's still easy to actually miss what you want to shoot. Also, even though you have to unlock gun levels 4-8, I'd rather just have them upgrade level 3, but with slightly better properties (damage, speed, size, etc.), if they're only going to have 2 extra levels be worth a damn.

That said. I still feel like it is worth playing.
