It won't only tell us more about the themes and tone of the new game, but could also lend some insight into how complex and entertaining dialogue will be.

VtnB is not just broken, its rushed and half finished. Obsidian games - both KOTOR and NV suffered from the same, but least delivered half playable state, also cut most of interesting ideas and content. VntB and Arcanum are just publisher telling devs - "ah fuck it, release it in a state it is!"
