Get people to do something, anything, with Tesseract. It's Cube 2: Sauerbraten for modern computers, people should be all over it.

Improve Linux.

Buy native Linux games, and support Valve in their efforts to get more devs onboard even if its just with whitelisting games for Proton.

How much better than Windows does it need to get?

It needs to be able to run Windows software as well as Windows does.

uninstall linux

But my screenshot is it running Windows software better than Windows does. The only games that have issues now are ones that depend on kernel-level flaws on Windows for their invasive DRM solutions.
Otherwise Wine+DXVK now compares to the compatibility layer in Windows 10 about at the level where DOSbox was when it started taking over as the way to play DOS games.

You don't. Don't shit up the OS.

I'm actually considering going full-time Linux again. I moved to Windows because I started raiding on ffxiv and it wasn't feasible to use Wine there, but apparently DXVK is a thing now and I've been having really good experiences using a either SteamLink, Parsec or Moonlight.

Is it time to bust out the ol' Arch box?

Linux? You mean UCUNTU? WITH THAT FAGGOT PENGUIN? THAT OPERATING SYSTEM

I want to be able to just click the .exe and run shit right out of the box. I'd also like my DAWs and VSTs to work properly on Linux but that's not gaming.

Valve is already improving Linux gaming, they just need to work on proton and maybe advertise steamos so the normies actually try Linux, then Linux would be much more popular

>I want to be able to just click the .exe and run shit right out of the box.
But that doesn't even really work on Windows anymore depending on what version that exe was made for. Tools like Lutris are generally better and let you run stuff that doesn't work on modern Windows.

It's actually quicker (and sometimes easier depending on how annoying it is to get the exe) to type something line "apt-get install PROGRAM NAME" and get it automatically installed from a trusted source than wasting your time getting download links for that exe.

But I have the exe already. I have my backups and physical discs. I want to be able to run them like I can in Windows without having to fuck around having to install tricks or wrappers. I want to be able to install them to a C: drive instead of in the ass end of /usr/bin/shared/whateverthefuck/.

Also
>type
Fuck this. I don't care how powerful the command prompt is, I stopped typing shit to run things when Win3.1 got released. Macfags stopped typing shit. Even the Amiga furfags stopped typing shit. If a solution to a problem starts with "open the terminal", you start making a better fucking solution.

>trusted source

you guys are really retarded

I respect Linuxfags. Takes dedication and conviction to want to play on that platform.

Is SteamOS still being developed or is it barren like many valve ideas nowadays?

I don't know if it's still being developed but I literally played all of nier automata from my couch last week, with an Xbox controller. Felt and looked better then a console

Yes, they just released a new beta update last week.

They're working towards a 3.0 release which will have the new interface they talked about at GDC along with integrated Steam Play AKA Proton AKA Wine+DXVK.
Which is rumored to be coming on new hardware which they're keeping close to their chest but which will probably be very similar to the architecture Google is using for Stadia.

>/usr/bin/shared/whateverthefuck/
You suck at trolling. Just stop it.

replace Xorg for fuck sake it's been 30 years of crud and non-fixable issues and it shows

Windows can't even do that.

Xorg works fine.

Wayland can't even run without Vsync, making it unusable for fast video games.

You can already use Wayland, nobody is forcing you to have Xorg
