Just check out the videos posted, the devs are trying to make a game that emulates the feeling of an old pen and paper hexcrawl basically.
The shit you're carrying matters, magic requires preparation and certain rituals to cast higher level spells, from the get go they make it obvious that you're not a hero and you're just some random guy on an adventure.
Everyone is expecting some eurojank, but from what we've seen of the game and how the devs describe it, it seems like even if its buggy there will be a diamond in the rough in there.

If you're apprehensive I wouldn't dive in day 1 and maybe wait for some reviews and first impressions to come in, but personally I'm pretty excited. IGN has a little preview video they did as well that talks about this stuff a bit more and goes into a few things they didn't touch on in the two videos I posted in the OP

Steam's default DRM is so easy to bypass that its literally automated at this point. Its only function is to basically stop people from just uploading their game files and having it work, all you need to do to crack it is have something intercept the handshake with steam and say "Yup everythings good here, launch the game"

I've played for around 3 hours or so. Combat seems pretty boring and I'm worried it won't pick up.
The 2 "dungeons" I've been in have been extremely short, which is upsetting because the overworld is so empty. I hope later dungeons are harder and longer.
All of my friends are casuals and have Xboxes. Since I don't give a shit about consoles, I still have an Xbox One S. I was hoping they'd get the game, but I don't think I'll recommend it to them. The game looks like absolute shit on the One S. Don't get this game for that system.

Exploration seems fun, the survival mechanics don't interfere with game play too much, and even though I have so many complaints, I'm genuinely excited to explore more of the world. I just hope that the game gets better. I'm sure playing with friends would make this game way more fun,

A word of warning for anyone actually playing: Don't trust a shitty manlet called Crock, he'll take your ass to mines. I learned to Backstab from some cunt in the mines, so if that's what you want to learn, then by all means play along with Crock. There's a retarded vendor in the mines who will literally buy pickaxes that are scattered around, so just sell those to bail yourself out afterwards.

It's only been out for a couple of hours, you'll have to check the reviews if that's what you want to know. The Kickstarter page has a little about the factions, and that's all.

Well i wouldn't go as far as saying that it's good. It's passable but enemy AI is too easy to cheese most of the time, simply moving around makes them miss their attacks. Comfy points for everything involving tents, campfires and such. Random effects on death and talking to certain NPCs around the world are also neat.

Although the "mythical man hour" is false when it comes to working on large projects, larger teams can get shit done way faster with more people.

This game looks like it was made with a staff of like 10. A 4 year dev cycle is almost AAA tier in terms of time, but with only 10 people you're not gonna get much polish out of them. A typical AAA team is about 200-300 people right now.

VA was terrible, not only because the acting was pretty bad but because the text doesn't even resemble what is being said half the time.

the graphics was very hit and miss. Like equipment/gear looked okay. But the environment and buildings looked terrible.

I'm really enjoying it so far, haven't been able to test the multiplayer on the cracked version but it seems to work so I'm hopeful for when my friend finishes downloading it.

My only complaint so far is that I'm not sure if its really worth $40, and I kinda wish combat had a bit more weight to it. Its not really a huge deal breaker, but it can make combat feel a bit stressful when attacking a guy means I'll probably get hit too since hitting him doesn't interrupt his animations.

I like it, adds some consequences to things. This isn't supposed to be the kind of game where you can do everything and never lose, the devs have been very upfront about how you aren't a god, or a chosen one, you're just a normal dude on an adventure.

I understand your point but timed quests have nothing to do with being just a dude on an adventure. They just add unnecessary pressure on the player.

Just deal with your mistakes, if you want a perfect run you might just have to run through it again. Don't stress too much about missing shit, this just makes the game replayable

i played a few hours on PS4 last night and honestly some things irked me. Using a bow is trash might be better with Mouse+Keyboard but with a controller you Lock on and have to hold X to ready the bow/arrow and you can aim around the target but in order to do this you need to claw grip the controller because holding X and having to move the right analog stick to aim. in a Dev video they said you could use this to shoot enemies with shields up but its so clunky.

Blocking is very, very good. Be patient, wait for openings. Two-handed weapons are much better than one-handed. Never fight multiple opponents if you can avoid it. Traps are damn strong if you can get good spikes.
