Is this a good game to fill the co-op void with friends?
I keep hearing mixed things about it, some say it's great others say its garbo, which is it?

Fun with friends, fallen ghosts expansion was good. Gameplay can get repetitive after awhile
Anything is fun with friends, doesn't mean the game is not complete garbage
>some say it's great others say its garbo, which is it?
Honestly, it's both.
It has some great aspects, it has some absolutely rubbish aspects which completely ruin it at times.
If you like third person tacticool shooters, playing dressup and fucking around with mates, it's worth grabbing cheap.
Just try not to think too much about why bodies magically disappear after 5 seconds, why AI is magic, all seeing, hit scanning bullshit that can snipe you with dual SMG's whilst sprinting in the opposite direction to you, or why enemies keep spawning out of thin air right in front of you etc
Most importantly try not to think too much about the fact that it's meant to be a Ghost Recon game and instead think of it more like a Mercenaries 3.
>try not to think too much about the fact that it's meant to be a Ghost Recon game
this hurts me really bad bros
I love customization autism in games, if that counts for something.
Was considering Arma 3 as well, but that might be a bit too much on the milsim side for me. Kinda want something in the middle, and this looked to be that.

That's absolutely Wildlands strength, although be prepared to stomach just how fucking jewtastic the DLC practices are with regards to cosmetic items and the loot box system in general. Also because you'll be coming in late, I don't know how much of an opportunity you'll have to grind for a lot of it with the daily/weekly challenges, and there is a LOT to grind for, and 95% of it's trash.
Personally I would recommend ARMA 3, yes it'll take a bit more to get into, but you'll find waaaaaaaaay more in terms of customization and the ability to literally tailor it to your exact tastes without getting turbo jewed.
I mean of the last 100~ hours i've played of ARMA 3 almost all of that was with Vietnam stuff, WW2 stuff and 80's/90's slav stuff and it's a game i've got thousands of hours in, and will get another thousand out of in the years to come.
Gameplay is repetitive after a while. It's worse if you play it alone, but it's fun with friends.
The pvp is great, Ubisoft is sitting on a gold mine. They should make the pvp free or cost $20. It already has lootboxes anyway (cosmetics only)
It's because playing around in the game is fun for some hours and then you realize 100% of the content is actually filler. There is nothing interesting about the plot or the characters. The best part is that the le shoehorned ar-pee-gee elements in the game actually make the gameplay progressively worse as you level up.
All you have left is the classic ubisoft gameplay loop of "open map, mark up a target, travel there, press button and watch an indicator showing that you just did a thing", except this time you can do it in co-op.
I'm not one to care much for story or characters in these types of games. If the gameplay loop is solid enough then I think it would be fun.
Is the pvp still active?
it's barely a game
you go to a base, you click heads, you loot the single new weapon mod you find there, leave, go play tacticool dressup, and do it again
gets extremely boring within just a few hours
it has sooo much stuff, and a huge map, yet its so shallow and the entire game feels like doing chores.
yup, it's a Ubi game.
it's kind of like a budget co-op MGSV or something, but with 0 personality. if you enjoyed playing the Conflict [Global Storm/Desert Storm etc] games with mates you might get some dumb fun out of it.
Wildlands or R6 Siege?
PS4 to play with friends.
I dont really know, but it's a true gem. If I had to pick between Siege and Ghost War, Ghost War is better.
It's a short 4v4 game that plays like a tighter PUBG in a dense exterior map, no permadeath (you can wait for revives if you are downed)
It's fucking awful. Repetitive, too easy AND too hard at the same time for bad reasons, repetitive, very little visual customisation and gun selection barely matters, repetitive, the map's pointlessly large with no actual substance and everywhere's more or less identical, REPETITIVE
> too easy AND too hard at the same time for bad reasons
This so fucking much.
It's the most horridly designed shooter I think i've ever played. For some reason the developers thought a good way to make the game harder was to turn the AI into psychic aimbot bullet sponges.
The only thing that pisses me off more than Wildland's mere existence is the wasted potential.
Just finished it with 2 friends a while ago. It is so boring you will cut your wrists if you try to do everything in it or even finish it. Game has maybe 5 different types of missions and repeats those to the infinity and beyond. Play the game for 3 hours and you saw everything. EVERYTHING. I spent 100 hours in it to collect all the meaningless achievements. Nothing changes. NOTHING. The only positive thing is the graphics, looks good and has tons of different locations.
Guns and gun customization is locked behind ubisoft tear collectible marathons. Want a specific gun? Good fucking luck finding it before the game ends. Still found it (with a guide)? The customization options are separate collectibles lololol. 90% of the character upgrades are trash or so mandatory you will want to kill yourself until you unlock it. The map is so huge and the roads are so shit you will call for a helicopter every time and spend minutes helding forward down to just to get somewhere
I didn't play the multiplayer.
The singleplayer/pve/coop is easy if you stealth through everything and call the rebels to distract the enemy while you mostly headshot people while hidden.
The real meat of the game is in the pvp, Ghost War. Go watch a few videos of it, it's seriously much better than the pve, and most Battle Royale games today.
do you enjoy ubi games? its an ubi game.
Tier 1 mode is anything but easy, it's bullshit levels of artificial difficulty.
Just call the rebels
