I have no idea what to think of this man.
I have no idea what to think of this man
You gotta have FAITH
and some more god damn MONEY
He’s fucking retarded. Insane madman. He’s certainly got a mental issue going on. If anything a couple screws loose. A hardware issue with the brain.
What’s even more stupid is the entire cast followed this man like he was some messiah. Ahahahahah
M A N G O E S
He is a selfish scumbag that heartlessly manipulated the vulnerable downtrodden into piously marching to their deaths for reasons they never even fully understood.
The fact he often left them to die or get captured just because he was done using them in his psychotic cycle of burning bridges and ruining lives makes him a truly loathsome maggot.
He even went out like a coward.
He has good intentions but he's manipulative and stubborn
His main problem is that he thinks he's untouchable. He's also not a very good leader because he lets so much shit slide. He's a charismatic leader but nothing else.
I read the plot synopsis and people's takes before playing the game. I'm in Saint Denis right now and I honestly feel bad for Dutch.
>"When everyone else doubts I can handle it Arthur, but when you do it, it hurts."
Playing this I can't understand the people who think he's a sociopath. It's obvious that he cares really deeply about John, Arthur, and Hosea but because he's also deeply egotistic and under a lot of pressure he just cracks beneath it all and turns on them, in his mind, before they can turn on him. Micah appeared at a critical moment when Dutch's relationship with his self-made family was at its very weakest. The whole story is just a tragedy.
Wow. I guess charisma can take you that far when folks shut their minds off.
You will see.
Play 1 after you finish 2 as well.
He is rotten.
Rotten.
I've already played 1, I loved it when it came out and played probably 4 or 5 times. Once a couple years ago I played through it to full completion twice in a row over a two week period. I read the synopsis before playing RDR2 because if I didn't I knew the game would dominate my life.
Dutch is certainly a bad person but I feel for him. In 1 you can tell he doesn't want to kill John and he knows that he's done and everything is hopeless, but he simply can't stop fighting. Knowing what happens in 2 and seeing everything he lost makes me feel bad for him, it adds a lot of weight to his situation in 1 and his final speech. He lost all the people he cared about and doesn't even know what he's fighting for anymore, just that he can't stop.
IS THAT YOUUUUU JOHN
Griffith and Dutch did nothing wrong
He is troublesome
Losing Hosea was the final straw for him. When it cuts over to him after Hosea dies he just looks completely lost. Then you see rage come over him.
Promising shit and being able to talk yourself out of situations can be very handy and that's exactly what Dutch does the whole game. Then he gets sad and mad that the people who he's supposed to protect are taking all the actual hits and are turning on him.
IS THIS ME?
>I've got a plan, John.
>You always have a plan Dutch.
>This is a good one.
After playing RDR2 this exchange hits hard
>sitting at the fire at Sean's welcome home party getting drunk and singing
>look over my shoulder and see through Dutch's tent him and Molly dancing alone to a record on his phonograph
The plan is how we get the money, dickhead.
If we had money we wouldn't need the plan.
You can dance with Mary-Beth next to them. It's kind of a nice moment. In my head-canon Dutch is approvingly looking at Arthur dance like a gentleman.
>DO YOU HAVE *ANY* IDEA THE RESOURCES IT TAKES TO TAKE CARE OF TWENTY PEOPLE? TO PAY FOR NEW LAND?
Who said that? WHO THE FUCK said that?! Who's the slimy commode of shit twinkle toed cocksucker just signed his own death warrant?! Nobody huh? The fairy fucking godmother said it! Out fucking standing! I will PT you all until you fucking DIE! I will PT you until your assholes are sucking buttermilk!
