The biggest problem with Zoomers is that they just ruin all their games by watching twitch/YouTube guides or googling every single thing. They never really experience a game for themselves. They just get through a game as fast as possible and shelve it forever. It’s why endless repetitive shit like fortnite holds their interest. You’d never see them play DMC5 or anything like that and if they did they’d zoom through it in two days and never touch it again.
Is that their fault at all? Games back in our day used to come with thick manuals that helped out a lot and gave plenty of hints. Strategy guides were commonly sold or even bundled with games. I remember printing out IGN guides for some games, like Majora's Mask and Kingdom Hearts.
I think you are painting with pretty broad strokes in terms of the last part - I am sure there are plenty of kids who played DMC5 as their first Devil May Cry and probably fell in love with the series.

Subscribed to Nintendo Power and Tips n' Tricks for years, had guides to a couple of hundred games in this way. In middle and high school I looked up strategies on the internet without remorse.
