last summer when I was home from college I met up with my friend to play some age of mythology over LAN

Last year I drove 3 hours to see my best friend, we spent most of the first 2 days gaming. This year I'm buying a Switch and going to visit him now 7 hours away, taking a week off when Pokemon releases.

I failed college, live with my father working off debt and saving up for my own home. All my friends moved away. I have one friend who comes back from college to visit his parents every summer/winter, we hang out, been my friend since kindergarten. We order pizza like the old days but now also drink alcohol and beat singleplayer games in a single night, laughing our asses off, passing the controller back and forth.

Probably the only real 'fun' times I have left in my life, but I would never tell that to him. I just lie and tell him I'm doing great and then get depressed again when he goes back to college.

Fail classes and they kick you out unless you are someone of note and can buy your way back in. You can appeal but they can deny it. Its what happened to me, unironically best thing since i left and got my life together. I did end up going back but they denied me entry to my specialty program. Which worked out well because a better and more prestigious school accepted me and i graduated from there instead.
