I like how they actually do things with the joke though. On the one hand saitama is literally unstoppable on a physical level. No. Speaking as an OPM fan, Saitama is neither all powerful nor indestructible. He has a set power level, it's just that his growth rate is so incredibly high that he is beyond mortal comprehension.

In all honesty, he's probably as strong as Perfect Cell from DBZ at the most. But the rest of the world, bar the S-class, is still early Dragon Ball levels of power. Even then, most of S-class wouldn't be able to make it past Vegeta and Nappa, and no one besides Saitama could defeat Frieza.

I think you're really underestimating how strong Saitama is. Even Boros seemed to be near current DBZ levels of power. He charged a planet busting attack in just a couple of seconds which is way beyond Perfect Cell's power. And Saitama deflected that attack with just the air displacement of a punch.

Super Mario is invulnerable. Everything he touches dies instantly.

Boros is about as strong as Frieza. Also, his final attack wouldn't have blown up the Earth, just destroyed the surface of it.

Dragon Ball power scaling is really stupid. I think you're talking about about with Boros? That's probably closer to Cell's fuck you Kamehameha during the Gohan fight. Current day Dragonball has Goku and Vegeta being so stupidly strong that they can, and I'm not exaggerating here, shake the entire universe with a punch. The flagship fight of Dragon Ball supers 3rd Arc featured Goku forcing himself forward in time. I don't even know what that means.

logically you would think this would mean Goku and Vegeta shouldn't be allowed to fight anymore. At this point there are a bigger threat to their environment then the condo line of Apocalypses that keep marching towards the Earth. But the power scaling always pushes them back down to normal after they show off something ridiculous to keep them from glassing the planet with nothing but their existence

Yes, kind of. In Genos' simulation of Saitama, he was capable of one-shotting himself from the day prior. According to Genus and Psykos, Saitama broke his limiter and has unlimited growth potential. He broke it so early, though, that he's basically stuck at the level-up rate for someone at level 2, except he has no level cap.

Like, in RPGs it takes you 4 exp to get to level 2, and 8 exp to level 3, and from 99 to 100 it takes you 1,358,962,888 exp. Saitama is stuck needing 4 exp to level up, despite him being somewhere around level 3 trillion.

Short answer: Read it and find out. It's surprisingly high quality. Like, easily top 5 best manga/comic books of all time quality. Amazing art, great storytelling, and etc.

Long answer: Saitama isn't the focus of every chapter. Usually he's set as being a "time-limit" of sorts for enemies. They have as long as it takes for Saitama to arrive to wreak havoc. Even then, he has some really suspenseful fights, just not how you'd expect.

When Saitama's fights get good, they get really good. Instead of rooting for him, Murata/ONE made it so you root for the bad guy. You know they're going to lose, you know Saitama isn't going to find any enjoyment or fulfillment, and enemies like Garou/Boros have a really satisfying arc. Expecially Garou.

Frieza is both the most underrated and overrated villain. Because you're right Frieza was a galactic Terror. Prior to the Androids I could see why Frieza might be considered something horrifying. The strongest guy in frieza's entire Army had a PL of 120k. That's only 23% of where Frieza hangs out at his weakest. In his final form he's functionally a god to everyone there and Goku had to bullshit his power up nearly 20,000 times in a month to catch him. The only reason why all of Earth wasn't enslaved a long time ago was because Frieza and his men just never bothered to go there. And he only went to Namek because he heard of the Dragon Balls, he didn't actually want to be there nor did he care about anything living there.

At the same time though Frieza was made way too powerful. Everything after him just felt more and more contrived and after Namek it truly became the power level show.

Not true. Metal Bat is discount Hulk. Given enough time and damage, you could rig him up to deal more damage than Saitama. It'd just take an exorbitant amount of money and effort, and Saitama just grows exponentially more powerful to the point where it's hardly feasible to catch up.

Saitama is not the be-all end-all of power in his universe. Hell, I'd argue he's one of the least powerful characters in the series. Not in terms of actual power level, but in literary terms. He's unfulfilled and miserable, he messes up damn near everything he does, he's bad at forming and maintaining human relationships, he's really easy to push around, and he's got very little material wealth. He gets tormented regularly, and his overwhelming power can do nothing to alleviate his suffering.

People will still love it because it's covering one of the best parts of the manga. Hopefully they bring out the budget for Season 3, since that's going to be 90% fightscenes. Season 2 is ending with Elder Centipede (Chapter 85), and of the next 21 chapters, all but 3 of them are primarily focused on fight scenes.

Saitama gave it a pretty moderate punch and broke the machine.
Vegeta in base form punched an exact same machine with far less force and knocked it back about 10m and it was considerably more broken.

Freiza was able to charge a planet busting attack in seconds too (blowing up planet Vegeta) and he was only at 1million.

Saitama is. Boros is about as strong as stage-1 Frieza. Saitama is easily at Perfect Cell right now, maybe even Majin Buu.

Well, all fighting occurs on Earth, and Saitama doesn't want to hurt people. You can't know this, the same way you couldn't know Goku could take out a planet effortlessly until way after Cell saga. You can extrapolate Piccolo charging energy to destroy the moon, to the massive amount of power Goku has even at that point. Saitama has not been in a position to destroy the earth, but he did shatter a bigass meteorite effortlessly.
Also, Saitama doesn't have an easily identifiable "weakest" or "strongest". He's always at 11, you just can't tell because of how the story is paced.

Granted, there are some absurdly powerful beings in his universe, like Tatsumaki, Blast, Bang, Atomic Samurai, Boros, Garou, Orochi, and Golden Sperm, but they still pale in comparison to some other universes. Tatsumaki, one of the top 5 strongest characters in-universe, would barely be notable in Touhou, for example.

Any magic using character could just teleport him into a black hole and there's nothing he could do. Or instantly age him so fast he dies immediately.
He's basically superman without the kryptonite weakness. So that means magic is the way to win. You need actual Godlike "I ain't gotta explain shit" powers to beat him.

Boros' regenerative abilities are literally as potent as Cell's. What he lacks in raw power, he more than makes up for in every other way.

You can't teleport Saitama. You have to have a much stronger will than him. Tatsumaki, who can pull meteors from the asteroid belt with her psychic powers, could do little more than make his muscles twitch. To get rid of him, she had to literally move the tectonic plates underneath him to drop him into a hole, from which he became a Diglett.

Cell survived a much more potent explosion and still recovered. Boros has regenerated from some blood smatterings as well. Boros wouldn't be able to defeat Frieza unless Frieza was stuck in form 1 and had no way of powering up, but Boros is by no means weak.

Okay? If you want to argue that Saitama has a stronger "will" than any other character ever then you're basically just saying he has plot armor. Which, to be fair, he does. But if you consider him to also have plot armor in this theoretical crossover battle then there's no point even asking about it. It's like saying "if Saitama always wins, who can beat Saitama?"

No, Saitama's will is his only god-given super power. He's always had it, and it was his only real power for the first 22 years of his life before he put his indomitable spirit to good use. His power is so massive that only reality warpers with more power than him can move him. Granted, you can still move the area around him, but you cannot move him.

Right, but when you're talking about something nebulous and invisible like "will", it's impossible to really say whether someone is stronger than him or not. No matter how powerful the enemy is, the dust could clear and Saitama could be standing there unfazed with a blank expression on his face. That's the point of him, he can just pull something from nothing and win every time, i.e. plot armor. If you want to have an actual "power level discussion" about Saitama I think you have to throw that away beforehand. But as you said his indomitable will is part of his powers so it's hard to even imagine how you'd do that.

I guess a character that can control reality could just rewrite the past to say Saitama already lost.

It's not really nebulous at all. Saitama just simply has a stronger willpower. He doesn't give up easily at all. Someone like Asura or Doomguy also have equally distinguishable willpower. He's not a gag character. Not to mention he doesn't have plot armor.

Objectively none that rely on strength/speed/skill/etc.
That's the entire point of OnePunchMan : all his physical stats are maxxed to whatever the law of the universe allow.

Asking "Is there any character that can defeat Saitama?" is just dumb, the whole point is that he's absolutely OP and can't be defeated.
If Saitama and part 2 JoJo had a fight who would win?
If Saitama and Baron Munchausen had a fight who would win?
If Saitama and Bugs Bunny had a fight who would win?
etc.
Neither of them would win, the question just doesn't make any sense since both characters in each of these questions were designed to always win in some way, Joseph will always have an "that was my plan all along" asspull at the end, Baron will always be incredibly lucky and Bugs Bunny is Bugs Bunny.
The whole point is that he is undefeatable, thus no character can defeat him besides other undefeatable characters but then that would be more of a stalemate.
Asking whether anyone can defeat Saitama is just pointless.

That said due to nature of video games (possiblity of losing having to exist) I don't think there are any vidya characters that can defeat him since there aren't many vidya characters that are literally undefeatable.
