Made all that more amazing by DMC5's multiple subtle jabs at DmC.
With the slow motion intro that doesn't assault your senses. Nero's "Fuck You" Devil trigger. V's DT turning his hair white. In game photo of V drinking Virility. Dante embracing the Gay cowboy statement. Among much else. All of it done better and more subtle.

god I just got myself worked up remembering the shit game journos pulled with that garbage game, and they still to this day praise it and blame "fans" for not buying it.
Why did they do it?

Those weren't jabs at DmC. Itsuno loves the title and considers it one of the greatest if not his most favorite devil may cry game. Even saying ninja theory has "style" about them, he loved it.

his very good friend of over a decade and a half reluctantly admitted that he was going to quit his job if they didn't allow him to make 5 his way, unlike DmC, and admitted he had to do a botch job and fly in to fix the game just like he did in 2. he's a jap, he won't badmouth things he's tied to publicly, but it's painfully obvious.

Itsuno has ALWAYS wanted more graphically realistic character. He wanted them to come as close to real life as possible.

He literally wanted to make DmC2, but Ninja Theory were busy on other projects, and he felt that it wouldn't be right to make DmC2 without them.

You know, everytime I see this, I want to try making voice lines for every dante or nero dialogue, but in Donte style and being able to mod it in perfect sync, is it possible? or messing with voice lines is an absolute no?
