Extella 2 is happening, this game was made while development of that was continuing so that they could iterate on the gameplay systems and multiplayer and receive feedback on it to make the second proper game better. The story was an afterthought.

If he did a timeslide to a timeline where he had no involvement but the results are still the same, he can still go about his work without anyone knowing who he is. If you look at his model, he still has the make of the Velber Star on his arm though

Extella Link was such a fucking upgrade from the regular Extella in every regard, it's kind of amazing. The shittiest of the heroines are sidelined, main story conflict is pretty interesting, game doesn't look like dogshit anymore, and the gameplay went from the worst musou around into actually kind of fun.

They can cap a zone solo if there isn't an enemy servant there (Shadow Servant does not count), and they tend to survive longer than they did in Extella even when dealing with buffed servants. Yeah you gotta help them at times but you have time to deal with objectives instead of everything burning down because the AI was high on paint fumes
