Not exactly. EQ released an expansion (Gates of Discord) that was not only half-finished, but was a huge spike up in difficulty. It was essentially an expansion for people who were pretty far along in the raid cycle of the previous expansion (Planes of Power). World of Warcraft also came out shortly afterwards and really fucked EQ up.

That guy is being overly optimistic, the actual words were that it's up in the air and that they need a way to streamline the process of adjusting armors but that they're very aware of how unpopular gender locking is. Originally they were going to do another race instead of viera but realized there would be backlash asking for them, so they made viera and then hrothgar were a rushed counterpart (which is probably why they look like shit)

For male viera they mentioned considering elezen bodies with male miqote heads and asked if that would have been sufficient, so contrary to shit posters it's not like they never considered it

You already have stupid shit where Cover and Intervention are basically useless as tanking tools if you're the only tank but insanely valuable if you're offtanking currently.

Not "only" offtank, moreso in meta terms it'll be the off-tank when a job considered a better main-tank comes along, think the current discrepancy between WAR and PLD in a party where PLD will generally always be the OT. It'll be better-suited to being an OT but it can still MT is what I think he's driving at.

With tanks they can go 2 offtanks and 2 maintanks. WAR has often been king of offtanking and GUN will probably compete with that. But for healers they fucked up by making AST so versatile they clearly don't know what to do with a 4th healer. They should have split the healers between raid healing, single target and mitigation or even damage. They've tried to make the healers able to do everything and now they don't know how to add anything else.

You just get a level increase and new areas to explore. There is no reason to make a new character in FFXIV since you can do all the classes/jobs/craters/gatherers under one character.

An expansion is just the continuation of the game. MMOs like FFXIV are ongoing games. When you finish the last main scenario quest that comes with the base game, you still get update patches every few months that add new content (dungeons, raids, story etc) until the very last patch by which point you're already looking forward to the next expansion.

While shadowbringers is coming out this summer, we are getting the final patch for stormblood tonight (right as we speak) and it will be the final story quests until the new expansion comes out.

I actually really like the ammo system MCH has. I'm hoping GUN works halfway between SMN where aetherflow is on a cooldown but gives you stronger moves and SAM where moves gives you charges plus a secondary resource. Something like

>spent ammo becomes secondary resource
>secondary resource is used for defensive moves such as barriers (on yourself or ally), enemy debuffs, aoe taunt, etc

Isn't it like a 4:1 or 9:1 birthrate for female:male Miqo'te? Disregarding the implications of how or why, there's a fuckton more male cat players than their should be, but it could somewhat be explained by the tribe structure for suncats forcing out a disproportionate number of males into the status of adventurer or mercenary. If you had a tribe of 100 cats, roughly 10-20 would be male, with one Nuhn and the rest either vying for the title or being forced to shove off and find a niche elsewhere, unlike the other races which would just live a normal life in a roughly 1:1 male:female society.

Basically, cat societies are unstable as fuck because there's so few men and the men that are there are basically forced to fight with each other constantly, which explains why there's so many male freelancer cats. They don't have any other way to function back home.
