1 had Ryu get with Nina, 2 had Ryu get with Lin, 3 had Ryu with Nina, 4 with nina, and then 5 had him with Lin again.
Who do you think Ryu will end up with in 7?

5 sucks.
Reboot, thanks.
5 is fine, its just a poor BOF game is all, due to ditching one of the biggest appeals of BOF, the strong interconnected elements of Myria/the dragon clan.
Rebooting it would be the same problem.
FUCK YOU
Bof 5 is a masterpiece
I need price and link for Lin right fucking now
>the game that killed the franchise is a masterpiece
Can you be anymore contrarian?
No.
Uh no, 6 killed it
That's 6.
Ryu 2 got with Kat
>No new games outside of 3 ports of the older games
>It didn't kill it.
Lin is Katt's jap name.
5 was Dragon Quarter right?
yes
>5 is fine
>fine
>masterpiece
you guys serious?
>only three playable characters
>it's on a timer
>using transformation, what was mostly the appeal of the older BoF games, makes that timer goes even faster
yeah, no ...
Why not both?
Like I said, its a good game in a vaccuum, its just a poor BOF game.
And the timer system is perfectly fine as a game setup, the problem is it should have been tied into the plot in some sort of Time loop backstory. Its designed to encourage you to basically yolo through, get stronger and get a better feel for things, and then yolo again, almost like a roguelike.
>Who do you think Ryu will end up with in 7?
>7
its a little too early for this shit user, come back in a week.
BoFDQ broke its neck.
i still wish they would actually make a proper new game for a console... would be the best time for that now
Only retards and furries think the appeal of BoF was the dragon transformation shit.
Guess what's even worse? The european version of 5
what was changed for them?
That system where your D-ratio increases, effectively locking you out half of the game's accessible areas.
They removed the ability to restart and carry over some of your stuff, which makes the game significantly worse and harder.
Wrong, dummy.
I thought the core of the game was restarting before the meter got too high, or something?
It is.
You can't have both user, that's how you get yanderes.
its a significant part of the appeal. its not the major factor past 1 (The interconnected story is), but its still a very powerful part of it, like summons in final fantasy being traditional.
>its a significant part of the appeal.
Speak for yourself homo.
But how can Europeans even beat the game if they can't do that?
I've never played any version of it, I just thought the entire game required restarting to strengthen yourself.
That game was so incredibly ahead of its time is the issue. It really is a fantastic roguelike
You can beat the game just fine on a fresh run if you know what you're doing. It's no different than Dead Rising.
The problem is that BOF isn't a roguelike and never has been apart from that game.
Its like having the next zelda game be a FPS and saying "Its really a fantastic FPS game" when that's not zelda.
Except DQ is still an RPG.
Ironically your complaint makes sense if you replace FPS with "open world game."
Look, I absolutely love DQ. It is my favorite rpg of all time, and I'm not saying it lightly. It literally IS the dark souls of the dragon quarter series, obviously much earlier than dark souls itself.
The way it was streamlined to be played in "cycles", like an user said is very ahead of its time.
The game was made to be replayed, and replayed a lot, it was meant to be a challenge, even after beating the game.
You had kokon horay and the ant colony to mess around with, while taking a breath meanwhile the main game pushes your shit it. Sure after 3-4 retries you already have your groove and some decent equips.
Now comes the bad part, the REAL gripes someone might have with the game is:
>Ratio might seem to restrictive for some people, but hey its there, and it even resets to 0 in kokon horay. So you have like a little sandbox to test it out.
>Some issues with the story, Ryu really goes far out of his limb to save nina, he really needs either more backstory, or a bigger incentive for the actions he does, so it doesn't look like he's just saving a child.
>Battle music gets old, EXTREMELY fast.
>Lin needed more backstory.
These are my gripes with the game.
Overall, the only rpg that comes close, to it imo is dark souls.
Oh and don't think its just a coincidence that the devil triggers in dmc 4 and beyond all look like Odjin and the hybrid dragons in DQ.
This more or less. I mean regardless of your stance on the issue, they changed the intended audience for the series by doing so. Which in turn alienated the fans of the rest of the series.
As a spin off it woulda been fine, but as a mainline game, it came off as a massive departure and just was offputting to many people who went into it expecting a very different experience.
That said, it is a very good game, just not one the fans of the original would appreciate.
>due to ditching one of the biggest appeals of BOF, the strong interconnected elements of Myria/the dragon clan.
BoF 4 already did that before. I enjoyed Fou Lou and his soul twin but besides Ershin and Nina there were few connecting things to 3.
What would rebooting even do? Its not like this is resident evil where they directly jump off from the previous story into the next, ongoing.
the only thing rebooting would do would be give us BOF 1 again, and that was the shittiest game in the series. Literally forgotten by 90% of the fanbase, its just 2-4 that people remember.
>Its not like this is resident evil where they directly jump off from the previous story into the next, ongoing.
>BOF 1 was the shittiest game in the series
Damn dude you're retarded.
You had Deis, the creation of the recurring weapon the Dragon blade, and a possible backstory for where the dragonclan came from.
it seems like a pretty good fit for the prequel to the entire series. The only question is where Myria came from, and what happened to Yuna since he's absent in later games and seems to almost have been set up as the overarching "True" big bad of the series.
All the more reason to hate dragon quarter as it did its own thing instead of following that up.
The "bof4 is a prequel guys, seriously!" crowd is full of retards but "yuna is the real villain of the series" takes this brand of stupidity to new heights.
Exactly what about that is dumb? He is responsible for the majority of terrible shit that goes on in the game, the summoning of endless (like Deis) into their reality, and then states his intention to "Make" more endless at the end of the game.
Given that the endless that he made was a horrific monstosity of tentacles and miasma attached to a human body, him being responsible for all the demons that show up in 2 and Myria's existence would make sense.
As fou-lou isn't the game's villain despite being your final foe you have to beat, Yuna was basically what amounted to 4's villain, and left ready to keep shit rolling.
Yuna's unresolved fate is cut content, nothing more. Pretending that it was intentional is completely retarded.
>Simon, Nia and Yoko before TTGL
>almost identical clothes, designs and colors
>exact same personalities
REALLY MAKES YOU THINK
FUCK TRIGGERSHITTERS AND FUCK THAT HACK IMAISHI
