There was a debate about that? Sekiro is way better.
guys i have no idea how this happened, but i have 1335 total hours across all souls games on steam
>das1, 97 hours
>das1 remastered, 38 hours
>das2, 268 hours
>das2 sotfs, 386 hours
>das3, 513 hours
>sekiro, 38 hours
i was pretty depressed and these days ive been wondering where all my time went. now i know.
That's true. Can't wait for a sequel. I wonder how Miyazaki will handle it.
That's only 55 days total, faggot. Not even two months
yeah it is. no doubt, even if im not a big fan of the jap setting. but it's pretty fucking kino
Sword Saint isn't even the most kino fight
I love it because it massively exposed soulsborne babs retards
Anyone know where I go after I beat genchiro and get the mortal sword? I have rice to that one lady and she gave me a vague hint about winding a puppet and flying a kite
Apples to oranges, user.
I agree but I didn't want to post spoilers.
There's a lot of paths during that time, have you already gone to Mibu Village?
Wrong
Where the fuck is this high priest in the temple? I got the mortal blade, but I never saw a priest or got the martial art skill book
the martial art skillbook is very near the main hall, theres two paths that branch out from it, one to the divine child, the other to the book
Great Shinobi Owl is different from Owl (Father). Though the former is still pretty good in it's own right, the latter was the moment that made me realize how good the game can get
He's there if you go before Kuro sends you on the quest to retrieve the Mortal Blade.
Nah not yet. Haven’t found that path
What's the difference? I only fought the former.
Gottta take the huge 4kids plunge to the depths, user. If you need a direction, then go to the dungeon from where you were in the sewer at the beginning of the game
Owl (Father) is a more intense version that has an owl familiar and you need to defeat for the purification ending
Talk to Emma and do her sidequest after beating him the first time to start it
can i back up my save before owl to get the shura ending and then overwrite that save after receiving the ending
Of course it is better than bloodborne, since there was no PC release bloodborne is automatically shit to Yea Forums
Maybe manually in the files, but you can't do it from the game menus
Is it in the cave that’s on the opposite side of the temple from the Divine Child?
is there ever a reason why you wouldn't resurrect when you can?
yeah i was planning to do it with the files. just wasn't sure if it worked and wanted to ask if anyone else has done it.
nah
So there's that merchant in the first area that wants me to find a strong person to loot battlefields does qnyone know where I find him/when? And what is the reward for doing so.
Your first ressurect, no. Otherwise maybe you're not confident in the state of the fight and would rather save your other resurrects for another attempt.
never. they want you to use the shiny new mechanic. there is no downside to using resurrect, there is only a downside for true death.
If you're fighting a boss and you think it isn't going to end will so you mercy kill yourself.
Your reward is more shop options. Most people seem to send the big crying monk from Sengou temple, but I think the samurai guy overlooking the starting area sewer can be sent as well
Fights are way better but I still think bloodborne is the better game because of trick weapons outfits and unique aesthetic.
Thanks user i had the option to send that guy to the doctor but didn't ill see if I can send him to the merchant instead.
I would say Bloodborne's setting being a bit more interesting is the main thing it has going for it, Sekiro really drags at the start when its just fighting the exact same japanese dudes in snowy japanese castles for the first 10 hours of the game. But really picks up once you get to Ashina castle and it opens up.
Really happy they brought an interconnected world back, didnt think it was that interconnected at first until I started finding all the neat paths and stuff (like the path between ashina outskirts and Senpou temple, or the various ways areas link to Ashina castle). And while I feel there werent any bosses as good as Bloodborne's best, there were none worse than its worst.
It really does feel like they started making the game from Ashina castle, but created the outskirts to kind of railroad the player and get them familiar with the game. It's not all bad, either, just not as good as the rest of the game.
Gyoubu, the snake instance, and stumbling onto your first Headless through exploration are pretty good early moments.
funner, yeah
combat is much faster and more engaging, and getting to the bosses isnt anywhere near as tedious a process as it got in bloodborne. the inbetween is actually fun
i wouldn't say its better overall though. bloodborne tells a better story and is a more complete experience
I like games like this in theory but I don't like actually having to play them.
They're pretty much the same story, Bloodborne is just we want ayylmao power while Sekiro is I want the power to defend my land at any cost
that's not saying much. a piece of shit is better than bloodborne
In some ways but not others, which is how all these games are. I wish Sekiro had armor to find in the world, and I would trade the combat arts and tools and put them into more weapons to use. Take a fist weapon, through the monk kung fu arts on them, boom its a great fucking improvement on what Sekiro has.
I do wish future FROM games has this movement though. I love the jump, I love the ledge grab and wall jumps. I like the grapple hook even if I wish you could use it in combat more to latch to enemies.
I got halfway through DMC5 and stopped to play more Total War and then Sekiro. Sometimes your mood doesn't click with the game.
I have much more time than that in Bullet Chess games on lichess
>The lord is a fucking annoying asshole
>Motivation weakens
>Cute fake Dragon heritage miko shows up
>Gives you great healing items and got fun interactions
>Smart and finds a way to not just to end immortality but also end it the entire alien dragon shit for good
>Goes blind for the greater good
>tfw Journey to the West is the sequel
Kino
It doesn't need armors at all, extra weapons would have been cool though but considering how the game mechanics are they'd still boil down to just very slight variations on the same thing, same as they are in Dark Souls.
yes
I do think it is better than BB, but it's still flawed, just in a really different way.
Pacing is shit, might be the worst pacing I've ever seen in an AAA game in my entire life, some bosses have retarded hitboxes (monkey) or are just gimmicky (butterfly) while a truckload of others are cakewalks that anyone not retarded will get through in their first attempt.the power given to the player early on is laughable compared to what you get in the midgame, I'm spamming attack to kill more often 20 hours into the game than I did with the first mobs of the game and that's ridiculous.
Skill system is good, it's actually surprising how there is more variety in gameplay here than in BB even if you always use the same weapon, it's also nice to see variations of the prosthetic arm.
I think the parry system should be less forgiving, but also more powerful, it doesn't feel nice to land 6 parries in a row with just some poise damage to show for it, especially when it regenerates. Boss design all around is kind of eh, I'm surprised by the variety but they could have done a better job in giving the player options there.
I think that the game is not going to have such high praise in like a year or so though, simply because its replayability looks kinda shit.
That fourth monkey was 10/10 and already puts the game above bloodborne not even joking
the theme of the game is even stated to you by multiple characters- it's 'do what must be done.' each main character - wolf, kuro, and genichiro especially - is simply following tis mantra. what's bloodborne's theme? "don't pursue knowledge?" granted i never delved deep into bloodborne's plot. there's probably more meat to the world of bloodborne overall than sekiro but i'm not positive.
4th monkey was my biggest brained moment ever.
>take a few steps
>notice theres monkey sounds and steps as if its right behind me
>look around
>nothing there
>slash the empty air and get the kill
It isn't.
>>das2, 268 hours
but why user?
>das2 sotfs, 386 hours
but why tho?
not even close. im not talking about the overarching themes im talking about the actual details of the plot and how the story is told. bloodborne lore is a lot less straightforward and having to learn it yourself through items and shit made it more interesting
Most likely, but the DLC helped it a lot. I dunno if the main theme can be simplified, but its closer to "be careful in your pursuit for further knowledge/power" Like "there are things that man was never meant to tamper with"
BB is super straightforward compared to the souls games, though. Sekiro does have cutscenes making it more apparent, though. Theres still a good amount of lore to Sekiro you can understand by giving the NPCs sake and by reading item descriptions+environment storytelling
>Got attacked by ghost monkeys
>Fire cracker them since I got surrounded and randomly attacked in panic
>Clear the boss
>Realize that the fucking monkey sounds and steps were his
11/10
not talking about the souls games tho
>there's probably more meat to the world of bloodborne overall than sekiro but i'm not positive.
I'd say they are about even, it's just that sekiro doesn't rely on speculation and convoluting the storytelling, nor does it feel like the plot was changed radically halfway through development, which happened to bloodborne.
How the FUCK do you beat Demon of Hatred? I've been trying for the past hour and I can't even get him to his 3rd HP bar.
>Just beat Gen at the top of the tower
Why is this game so fucking good?
well in bloodborne's case that drastic plot change had a rather brilliant recontextualization of the prior bits of the game i would say. if there's any reason why bloodborne's story is so interesting to so many people, it's precisely because of that twist. there's no real twist in sekiro, which is fine, but perhaps a tad underwhelming compared to bloodborne. there's going to be a lot to discover about mibu village, fountainhead palace, senpou temple's monks, and the history of ashina by replaying the game and paying close attention, but the game doesn't really have that 'wow factor' moment in its plot that bloodborne has.
first phase is pretty easy, second phase is tricky because of how well the orbs track and how the huge linear flame aoe works but besides those it's the same fight. Just try to parry his stomps and avoid his flame arm attacks. Better to parry or block those than take the hit, but much better to avoid contant with them if possible. His palm and headbutt attacks come out super fast, so you'll just have to do your best at anticipating them
Lack of armor/fashion is a huge flaw. Prove me wrong
It really is.
Not necessarily a wow factor but reading the note in the wedding cave about the rocks being formed from the water crystalizing was pretty "oh shit that's fucked" given how the priestess made the village people drink the water and there's so many of those rocks
Demon of Hatred can be beaten like you would fight a hundred Souls bosses, run around baiting the easy attacks and then hit him in the ass a bunch and run away from his AOE.
The best/fastest way is to always push his belly area and just parry or dodge his attacks from there and run when needed. He doesn't have a grab or a thrust, that perilous attack is ALWAYS a sweep. Jump everytime
NO IT REALLY FUCKING ISN'T
AND IM TIRED OF ALL THE HIVE MIND NECKBERADS SAYING ITS A PERFECT 10/10 MASTERPIECE WHEN ITS NOTHING OF THE SORT!
DMC5 is better and is an 8/10 game because of the story being garbage way to bring back vergil and it could have been handled better
Seikiro is a 5/5 game that is mediocre in every way possible.
>No good music like BB and Demon souls
>atmosphere isnt impressive at all
>still uses same ass unpoilished souls mechanics that are janky as fuck when this is the 5th souls type game they have made(YES SEIKIRO IS A SOULS TYPE GAME) and FROM should have perfected using the engine by now
Honestly,Seikiro in all its meritocracy is wasted potential.
I really feel that FROM should have just made a brand new engine for this game that would complement the games style and gameplay instead of just altering Souls games for a 5th time.
I just beat blazing bull if anyone thinks i havent gotten far into the game and this is how i feel so far.
Dark Souls 2 and 3 and Seikiro are officially FROMS worst games
Bloodbonre,Demon Souls, and Dark Souls 1 are there best
I disagree but you are entitled to your opinion. Would you like to discuss it or would you rather just make proclamations?
its literally fun as fuck when the community was at its peak
seriously, it is. staying on Yea Forums will warp your sense of games
>DeS and DaS1
>good
stop posting any time
>I just beat blazing bull if anyone thinks i havent gotten far into the game
This is some autism shit. Show us your Bloodborne platinum too while you're at it
Haha excelent pasta my friend!
you're a gay faggot
>DMC5 is better and is an 8/10
>Seikiro is a 5/5 game that is mediocre
Man I didn't even like Sekiro that much but do you have any idea how fractions work you ignoramus?
I have 212 hours on das2 and 334 in sotfs. It's not like those are the best games in the series, but they have the most content by far, plus they had the best PvP until 3 came around. And of course, it was fun as fuck trying to do no bonfire or no death runs.
Nice bait.
>The whole demon of hatred
>go talk to the old lady in the tower where Ishhin was at the start of the game
>DO U KNO WHO DAT WAS WOLF????
>"Nah"
On a scale of 1 to rock, how dumb is Sekiro?
>whole game is just QTE's
Excellent bait I'm impressed.
>ds1 not having the most hours
Fucken pleb
>unlock special move game says you do by pressing LB + RB at the same time
>it straight up doesn't work
Did you equip it?
>sekiro is a 5/5 game
Agreed!
What button does that?
power button
in the menu, there's latent skills which are passive, then the arts which you can only equip one at a time
People were saying this is a 40-50 hour game but im up to owl at ashina and its feeling like im nearing the end only 20 hours in. How far am I through the game?
It's better than dark souls 3 and its made on a budget
>People were saying this is a 40-50 hour game
Literally who the fuck said that?
howlongtobeat.com
I'm looking at the menu, man. nothing makes me 'equip' anything.
After fighting Genchiro I agree
Depends, you're either at the very end or still have another 5-10 hours or so
you are DSP incarnate
I haven’t played it yet, but I know from all the bloodborne threads years ago not to believe you.
Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls remains the only two trancendental experiences in the Souls universe. Those games were masterpieces. Dark Souls II, Bloodborne, and Dark Souls three are fantastic games, but nothing can recreate the feeling of the first two. I’ll still play it, but I’m not stupid enough to think it’ll be like DeS or DaS. The rest weren’t.
I can't because I agree. I am not sure what form it should look like that. Simple costume changes or layers that have no stats seem lazy and something they wouldn't do. I could see Positive and Negative traits or bonuses without needing to make you tankier or stronger flat out. Everything SHOULD have one positive, one negative.
No other game makes me angrier than chess.
maybe you have brain damage or played with the english dub, but the tone of his japanese line really implys that he has "no" because he doesn't want the world to remember him as a monster.
You're right. Equipping skills from the 'skill menu' is a ludicrous notion. I have no idea what I was thinking
In other words you're nostalgic towards the first 2 games even though they're completely mediocre and will dismiss newer games which improve every aspect just because they don't give you that nostalgic feeling
>Seikiro is a 5/5 game that is mediocre in every way possible.
So a perfect game?
They’re not even a decade old. You probably don’t know what real nostalgia even is.
It's more than enough if you were a kid when you first played them which you were lol
i fucked up and im at the final.boss right before learning about this. i heard tou need to do her quest to get to the 2nd memory, and that the 2 last 2 prayer beads are there. am i fucked with no way to get to Hirata Memory 2???
