git gud fag
prove me wrong
i played 4 when i was 9 and i finished it multiple times
Prove yourself right.
stop dying to aztec falcon
4 is the easiest
t. Got stuck at Aztec Falcon
theres no gitgudding in these games, you just learn through trial and error
Everything is learnt through trial and error
If you suck that bad at it, then use the cyber elves that they throw at you.
no? 3 is
no difference from using infinite lives or savestates
These games even have built-in cheats in the form of elves.
No, you're just ass.
I did too but I least I beat the other legit.
yeah thats how you get good, i finished this game at thirteen so either i was a god or you suck dick
Either bait or you really suck at videogames
i dont have patience to start missions from the beginning
Zero Collection has a literal baby mode where everything deals 1HP of damage and spikes don't instakill you. Are you really still having so much trouble?
>Die on first attempt of stage/boss
>This game is shit
Where did this garbage fucking opinion come from? It's so widespread nowadays that if you can't beat it on your first attempt then the game is bad/poorly designed.
actually im playing megaman zx, but i used that picture to better illustrate my point
no cyber elfs on that one btw, at least not so far
the problem with aztec falcon and the first game (which i assume is the one you're talking about) is that you have to restart the whole fucking mission just to fight him again
my problem with ZX now is that there are some missions that require you to venture really far and there are no savepoints in between the destination and the start point, so if you die 3 times you have to start all fucking over again, and its really tiresome
good thing no one sane thinks ZX and Zero series are anywhere near on the same level. fun games, the lot, but the Z series is better.
@OP: Its okay that you suck bro
>I used the wrong game to better illustrate my point
so this is what its like to be retarded
if i had used a ZX picture i doubt i would have gotten any replies at all
>the problem with aztec falcon and the first game (which i assume is the one you're talking about) is that you have to restart the whole fucking mission just to fight him again
How is that a problem? That's totally normal for Megamans.
I beat all of them when I was like 13, git gud my man.
If you stick to vanilla Zero I can see someone struggling but thats what cyber elves are for.
its not normal for anyone that isnt buddha
Not him but I'm pretty sure 99% of Mega Man games put a checkpoint just before the boss. Although if he's talking about the retarded lives system in Z1 then I'd have to agree with him on that.
>Not him but I'm pretty sure 99% of Mega Man games put a checkpoint just before the boss.
I guess that's why I'm asking. Been forever since I played so I was wondering if that level straight up lacked a boss checkpoint.
Git gud
there are boss checkpoints, the problem is that if you run out of lives you have to start all over again
i S ranked all four games in hard mode repeatedly in my day
you zoomer cunts make me sick. pack up and get the fuck out, this is not your hugbox
the only thing getting hugged here is alouette while i screw her over and over
>Remember Zero series being rad as fuck but really hard as balls. Tough but fair
>Replay Zero 2
>Game has horrendous fucking screen cramp and you barely see shit coming as you zip about
Fucking hell, is 2 worse off or did I just remember the entire series wrong?
At least the OST was kino
youtu.be
>the only thing getting hugged here is alouette while i screw her over and over
Nice
Aztec Falcon was supposed to be hard?
Some people still get wrecked by him.
Although that Phoenix faggot in Z2 is the bigger casual filter
I just finished the first three games with an A rank and no cyber elves for 2, 3 healing cyber elves for 1, and 2 satellite elves (no fusion) in 3. Just get good user.
You are a fool and weak in your old age.
>they remade the zero games but didnt improve the fov
fucking hell
git gud I recently beat the first game on the ds without any of that crap, will get to the other three eventually.
they didnt remake, just re-released
Yes because unless you know about slash-dashing or bothered to grind up your saber levels on the respawning enemies right outside the boss arena you probably only have the 2 hit combo, no charge, and generally he jumps all over the screen and does a bunch of damage (relatively since the only way to increase your HP bar is to grind E-crystals to evolve Cyber Elves). But personally I had more trouble with Hanumachine my first time through and the bomb mission every time. The platforming in the bomb mission is still bullshit with the instant kill spikes on the moving platform bit.
The screencramp is the biggest issue but I still think they're great games. You just need to have really fast reactions to not get hit by the enemies they sometimes literally drop right on your head.
>bomb mission
>jump up on the ledge from the moving platforms to get one of the bombs
>have to leap of faith back down and hope you land on a moving platform instead of the bottomless pit
It's a damn good thing there's an easy 1up right at the start.
Should there be an energy meter for boss weapons in Mega Man games? Really feels like it discourages you from using them outside of other boss fights.
>phoenix EX skill gangbang right when the lava erupts
>on hard mode
Main problem with the series is the insane amounts of health you can carry around with you once you have upgrades. This means the game feels very unbalanced, will start nightmarishly difficult and then eventually get way too easy for most people.
I think the only ones that really get discouraged are the ones with single-digit max usage, like the screen-clearing ones or Crash Bombs, etc. Otherwise you should have plenty of ammo to use them where you want to in a stage and still have enough left over to defeat or at least badly damage a boss. At least as far as the regular 8 stages go, fortress levels where weapon energy doesn't replenish between stages are a bit trickier, but you should still be able to get whatever situational usage you need out of them and still keep a safe amount of ammo in reserve.
>@OP: Its okay that you suck bro
newfag
...
I forgot, did Zero games have subtanks hidden in stages or the only way to get them was using Cyber elves? Either way those exist so the series isn't as bullshit as people says.
Huge tip you may not be aware of go into the options and switch the attack mode to TYPE B Having your sub weapon on the L button and your main weapon on B makes all the difference in the world. I struggled with these games as a kid but now I'm working my way on S ranking the series one the second game in the zero collection. It feels so satisfying to charge your blade with B for when you need it while dashing in guns blazing with the L button. Best gameplay in the Megaman series hands down period I fucking love the speed and intensity.
nah. thanks for the you though. seriously though, git gud
Just S ranked this fag shit felt so good by the end I was breezing though the stage and working him like punching bag. Are there any other games with similar speed and gameplay? I played through gunvolt and it was similar but not what I was looking for though since the way of killing enemies kind of killed momentum and wasn't really as fun as beam sabering and gunning at high speeds
I guess you could try ZX if you something even a little bit like MMZ. But otherwise. I don't really know what else fits.
This
No, user, you just suck.
>he didn't even unlock the hard mode
>tfw I unironically enjoy Mega Man Zero over Maverick Hunter Zero across the board
I wish he was allowed in more crossover games. He's got a plethora of weapons so he doesn't have to be forced to wield the Z Saber though with X8 and Command Mission they've been increasing Zero's arsenal as well, but he's always relegated to the Z Saber regardless.
>yet another episode of OP being bad at videogames
tsk tsk tsk!
Zero COULD'VE survived Ragnarok right?
y no blud
>people having trouble at THE FIRST BOSS OF THE SERIES
The First Megaman Zero has the best woke & optional trama i ever seen.
>You can abandon missions, kill indirectly rebels & Ciel saying "it's not your fault".
Incluiding Phantom literally dies in this game.
OP is a faggot, post your favourite TRACKS
youtube.com
They're perfectly playable without those things unless you want S ranks. And S ranks are fucking retarded because they actively punish you for using all of the rewards you get for playing well.
>mfw playig this with a broken L button
This move was fun to hit people with in SvC Chaos too. Produced so much blood too.
IIRC couldn't you choose to just fail all missions and end up in endgame for MMZ1?
>10 years old me was able to beat the zero games on pc
>22 years old me isnt able to beat the zero games on a DS
its just because the form factor of the DS is inferior to a keyboard, r-right?
Yeah. You could fuck up every time and still get to the end
It bothers me that's the only mode that allows you to play all of the games back-to-back.
Considering how low your stats are at the begging of the game. It is understandable that people has problems when playing the first time.
I beat these games as a kid without using Cyber Elves with minimal effort. These are not as hard as people make them out to be as long as you pay attention. I can only imagine you being as retarded as that Game Journo in the Cuphead video.
To this day, I don't know how to use Cyber Elves or the extent/limitation of their powers, but I imagined they were designed specifically for slow people like you.
>Cyber-elves with permanent effects will always reduce the points, being possible to have high negative points
So then I have to ask. If you use a Cyber Elf outside a mission to say increase your health bar, does that go against you in the next mission? If not then it just means don't use permemant ones unless you're doing down time in between.
The Zero series is legit unplayable because it's on the fucking GBA with it's pathetic screen size but huge ass sprites.
read the fucking thread before posting shit and acting like you're anything, imbecile
this. All MMZ games are pretty easy.
t. Aztec Victim
Coming into this thread to say you mad
So like 99% of Mega Man games
>If you use a Cyber Elf outside a mission to say increase your health bar, does that go against you in the next mission?
Yes.
Feel you. Played 1 and it was a trainwreck after the opening. Trial and error is never a fun trope anyways; it doesn't lead you on naturally, making a lot of things guesswork with the small ass screen to boot.
>learn through trial and error
It's called video games.
All 4 games are designed with the screen size in mind. I can only think of one section in Zero 1 where they throw a cheap spike trap at you (first big pitfall in the submarine section). Even then, if you approach that pit with caution, (which you should because right before that fall is a visible and avoidable spike trap) and wall slide down slowly, you'll be able to catch it and avoid it with ease. I can't think of any other section in the other games.
Are you trying to get A/S ranks? In that case, don't, just play normally. If you're not trying to get good ranks, then git gud, the Zero series is only hard when you try to look cool with an S in your health bar.
These games arent bad because they're hard, they're bad because the screen cramp punishes you for trying to play fast on first playthrough.
It hurts
CASULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
>there are people ITT unable to beat the first (actual) fucking boss in Mega Man Zero.
Never really got the point of the Triple Rod. Its damage was subpar and it was incredibly unsafe to use due to how much recovery frames it has. Pogoing off of enemies was kinda okay, but there weren't that many opportunities to do it, and since it doesn't necessarily guarantee a kill, it's not really optimal for getting a high rank. The Chain Rod was even worse, since all it really did was help you cross certain gaps or reach otherwise unreachable areas, but was entirely pointless in battle.
I feel like 4 had the best fourth weapon with the Knuckle. Maybe I'm remembering it being cooler than it actually was though.
Not everyone thinks to facetank and spam like a moron. Some people respect the rules of the game, and play into the bosses patterns. Or at least try to. But it takes a special thoughtless individual to go "hurrrr, sword spam"
Z-Knuckle was pretty superfluous. The concept isn't bad, but since most weapons you get from minor enemies weren't really that useful, it was kinda pointless. Its best use was against certain bosses where using it produced a unique result, like against the plant boss. You could also use it to grab those blades that Weil plants in the ground instantly.
Quick question to anybody who's played DMFD, how close is Empress to traditional Zero gameplay?
The Z-knuckle was kinda neat. And I get what they were going for with it.
That's every videogame ever nigger, what the fuck. If continuing without lives left you at the same checkpoint then there'd be no point to lives.
>All that damage
No thanks, just use the buster
I beat zero 1 and 2 games in the 4th grade do I normally dont say this but git gud you must really suck
Megaman ZX is even easier
>Zero is hard
Ok fine, the gba screen size made it ha-
>I meant zx
Zx is piss easy for a zero game since it's much easier to cheese
>it is hard because I have autism and want to do it the hardest way possible!
Then it isn't hard, you fucking retard.
>like a moron
it gets results. sorry that you suck at the games. frankly we need more games like the Zero games.
Hahahahahaha fucking hell.
Megaman Zero is legit difficult but if you're having trouble with fucking ZX you're retarded.
Literally everything is trial and error.
Image actually, actually defending the mission ranking system.
Same here, hence why I use save states, but I don't pretend like it's the game's fault, I just do it for my own convenience.
I didn't say it was hard you idiot, I said using the buster was better
Point is, who even thinks to just start comboing and tanking in the first place? Do you just start spamming attack on everything as you play? It clearly worked on Aztec. But clearly that technique either arises from A. playing like a spaz, or B. being familiar with the game already, so you're comfortable knowing you can push it to that limit.
Yeah I personally thought that out of the four Zero games 2 was the one that took the least care in taking the screen size into account when designing the levels.
it takes a bit to get to that level of gameplay, think Z1 and Z2 where you gotta grind to be able to do cool shit. It's the same concept with a few other RPG stats.
when i was a kid i just mashed buttons at first until i got used to the game user. I definitely beat aztec like that my first time through
then over time i got pretty damn good.you're over-complicating the first true boss of the game and its meant to be ez but im pretty sure you know this and you're just buttmad that you struggled at first
I'm the other way around. Could only finish MZ4 when I was a kid. Grew up and tried the other games again and blasted through them all.
I honestly don't remember my first experience with Aztec. I haven't played the first game since perhaps the year it originally released. But spamming combos isn't my playstyle, so I doubt I did that.
I can see how someone might think that they need to follow the boss's patterns in order to survive. Especially if they started with MMX first.
youtube.com
is this the greatest scene in video game history?
This is a close match with the ending to zero 4
But if they used the og ps1 zero sprite for omega (even though I see why they didn't), this would hands down be the coolest scene ever.
No, it's actually the opening to Z2.
samefag here, wow that was a shitty video i shared
>literally needing subtanks and full HP bars
It's ok user, it's the thought that counts.
I get that he's basically just a weapon, but I wish Omega actually spoke more often
"Ware wa meshia nari!" is all he needs to say to get the full point of his character.
He's believed to be the real zero in looks, but not in thoughts/heart. He is the fake messiah led astray to believing he's the real thing.
Taking a break from shitposting about Sekiro eh casual-kun?
Don't worry one day you'll get there
Why not play the games on easy mode on the DS collection?
fpbp
Zoomer cringe thread
>Lv C
boomzoomyoomdoomwoom
My kid self was able to beat the 3 games during long car trips.
Even managed to get good ranks when I found out you need to for those skill chips.
My GBA was stolen before 4 came out though so I emulate that on PC.
Play the Zero collection's easy mode then post it online so everyone can laugh at you.
I've never gotten past the final stage in 2 or 3, god I fucking suck at boss ref
any of you lads ever unlock jackson in MMZ1
Nope. Not once. I didn't even know he existed at first
HEE
Actually yeah. Can't for the life of me remember what it did now though.
it was a shitty cyber elf. it granted five seconds of invincibility, but if you were able to get it in the first place, you probably didn't need it
Yeah that's a pretty weak reward. I still remember that cool mode where you could use fighting game inputs for charged attacks.
If you're going to cheese the Zero series, it's better to play the Easy Scenario of the DS Collection than to just spam Elves. Instead of heading to a menu to make things easier, you're just handed fully-upgraded health and weapons from the start. You still have to earn rankings and EX Skills by playing well, but you aren't fucking with the flow of the game (outside of changing weapons/Sub-Tanks which is the same as any Megaman game). Plus that mode transitions really smoothly from game to game; even if you're good at them it's a good way to marathon the series.
