More often than not those "super strict" servers have admins breaking rules constantly and giving leniency to their personal friends to do the same.

The paranoia is what makes TTT fun, what's the fucking point of such strict rdm rules. In a similar fashion I'm not too fond of those machines that reveal you as a traitor, everyone just funnels into them and shoots the people who don't

RDM rules don't really affect being a traitor so I don't really agree there, but I do thing RDM rules ruin the game.
Can't be incorrect in your assumptions or you're slain for a round. When it's like... "hey traitor is falsifying evidence to get us to kill each other" like the thing or some shit. That's what being a traitor is really about, but people are so scared to go in and kill someone on assumptions because they don't want to sit out a round.
Dumb shit like Traitors can't "delay rounds" as a rule are retarded too. The time limit is there for a reason.
I like testers, they're good ways for the traitor to kill people (BE the one who says "alright let's get tested" then kill people while someone else is being scanned or some shit) or to guarantee who's safe. Two traitors vouching for eachother at the tester (if the only ones there) is a fun strategy too.

I liked the "optional objective" aspect of the map where town could win by getting all diamond blocks but it was so easy as traitor to fuck the plan permanently by disappearing with one single block. Also town was usually too retarded and underage to even know about that route.

Eh, it's just what happens as games and their game modes progress over time. Communities tend to gravitate towards smaller and smaller map pools. Unless you force players to play every map they will seek out servers with a few familiar maps to play on 24/7.

I had a TTT server with a close community for years, it fell apart a couple times as less people started playing (no more after school free time as we had graduated).
It feels so recent but it quickly lost players a couple years ago but some younger players from the original had made a new one, it was great to hang out and i felt that comforting happiness again. Players all joined a server discord and went their instead of playing, new players would not talk as they never had mics, the server felt dead until eventually it was.

I loved ttt and only played on a light community server for years. Last year i felt nostalgic and logged on to find a TTT server to maybe call home again.
Christ, not a single good one. For some reason all ttt servers have some meta addons like point shops with custom guns, player models and fucking trails. None of this shit belongs in ttt, zoomers are dense man, how are those justified?

I did find a "semi-vanilla" server, it was good and how ttt should be; same models and weapons but with a few cool things for Ts and Ds to buy. Come back the next day and it was stuck on Minecraft, i had a popup taking about joining their discord, a points menu and children screeching around with rainbow trails.

The most frustrating part is when almost every player in the game can't understand that you find traitors through reason and careful calculation (counting deaths, marking proven players) but instead opt for instant action of shooting someone for looking at them with a gun.

I honestly don't know, but it's usually people trying to deal with autistic namefags, it's like having a bunch of women on the server

Cliques get formed, then autismal arguments over menial dogshit start happening. Then either the person/people taking care of the server gives up because the original vision of a fun server for anonymous spergs has been lost and replaced by attention whores sucking eachother off and fighting other attention whores. Or in some cases one of the attention whores gets banned and starts regularly taking down the server with a botnet he rented.

Unironically, Pavlov VR's ttt mode is probably the last stand of what TTT was. It has yet to have point shops, stupid trails or weapon systems.
In the current version its just zoomer death match and but the current beta added proper nametags, death tracking with confirmation and a menu to buy radar or knife, makes the game play a bit closer to how it should.
I think with community servers coming Pavlov TTT will genuinely be the closest thing we can get again, I've yet to see a gmod server that hasn't been milked dry and become soulless.
